Early Morning lights

Early Morning lights or lack thereof

Good Morning and have a good day, the other day I did an early morning walk in the historic district here in New Bedford

It was still pretty dark so I was trying for a few different kind of shots

The other day I shared an accidental shot where i moved the camera when it was taking a photo, well it was as I was setting my camera up on the tripod and must have clicked the shutter button by mistake.

I then talked about a style of photography called ICM Intentional camera movement and when I saw this building with the lights around the window I thought I would give it a try.

Now I did not move the camera as such, but while taking a long exposure I did zoom the lens in and out to see what effect I could capture, and I must say I was quite happy how this one came out kind of funky but kind of cool

After taking that shot I took one of the building without zooming in and out so you could see the building without any funky effects, admittedly I did that as I was not so sure how the first shot would come out and here it is

I then walked by the Fountain which is in or on the edge of Custom Square park I have tried to get shots of it before but have generally not bee that happy with them but quite pleased how this one came out

I had parked by the port, this shot was as I was waiting to cross the road into the historic district the red lines are the tail lights of cars driving by

And a last shot from that walk to finish off the post, some of the old buildings and the Belgian block street, apparently originally they were cobblestone streets which were subsequently paved over , but in the 70s they decided to restore the historic feel and installed Belgian blocks

the red light is again a car that drove by when I was taking the shot

And that’s all folks

Good morning, Mr. @tattoodjay, how are you?

I love this place you visit for your hikes. It's lovely to see the period buildings.

This technique you used makes the photography look beautiful and very unique.

Excellent shots.

No way! That is super cool! This is one of the things I love about digital photography. I know back in the day if you wanted a shot like that you had to just pray you got it right and you wouldn't find out until after they were all developed sometimes weeks later! Very nice shots! I included some light trails in my post today too!

Very cool effect especially on the first pic, it's as if the building were the entrance to a video game 😀

I really love the way take photos. It's beautiful and can hook at it. Plus, I like it when there's light added, you can really see how the surroundings gives aura and the calmness.

Was the first image something like a pano shot? I see that on my iPhone but I’m not sure how it works. Do you think it’s possible to take a shot like that with my phone?

no its not a Pano, just a standard shot probablyu the angle I took it makes it look like a pano

Basically on a phone a pano is where you can mover your camera around the view and the phone puts it all together into one wide photo

Thank you for the response. It makes so much sense now. One quick one - how much moving of the camera do I need to get something nice when using pano?

IT all depends on the scene you are looking at, I seldom do them with my phone, but when I have have varied from say a 90 degreee turn up to almost 180

Wow, I really like that first shot with the zoom in and out effect. I don't think I've seen a photo quite like that before. As @heroldius said, like the entrance to a video game. It makes me think of the arcade in Tron.
