Early morning at the port

Early morning at the port

If you're looking for a port with personality, welcome to New Bedford, Massachusetts — the unsung hero of American harbors. This isn’t just any old fishing village. Oh no. New Bedford is the undisputed heavyweight champion of U.S. fishing ports, raking in more cash from the sea than any other port in the country — year after year!
home to over 500 commercial fishermen and what are they catching? Sea scallops. In fact, 84% of everything landed here is scallops — making New Bedford the Scallop Capital of the world,, OK i do not know if anyone has called it that but it came to me as I read that statistic LOL

I slept in a bit this morning, well slept in for me didn't wake up till 4:15AM which is a bit of a sleep in for me, I got ready and headed out for a morning walk since the rain they were predicting last night was missing us, and decided to head to the port and the historic district here in New Bedford, i am just importing the photos I took off my camera as I write this post, but it inspired me to look for some port photos I had edited and share them today
Starting with this shot standing on one of the docks and looking back at some of the commercial fishing boats, with the Fairfield Inn hotel in the background

this next shot is from a spot near the road where you can look out between a couple of the docks so many commercial fishing boats docked in the port

This is a spot I didn't used to go to at the port often, its at one end of and port with this little wooden dock jutting out, I only strolled here recently but now visit it most times I go tot he port, but funnily enough now that I say that I didnt go to this spot earlier today on my walk

This is a floating metallic dock, I am not sure if its just temporary as they repair another one of the permanent docks

I wasn't expecting that much color the morning i took this next shot but then we got a nice golden glow

And that’s all folks

I don't know as though I have ever had scallops. I'm just not as big of a seafood fan as I wish I was. I know it's supposed to be healthier for you, so I would like to add more to my diet. My wife can't stand it though, so that would be difficult.

I am also not a big fan of seafood, I ha ve tried scallops, not a big fan of them, but we do try and have fish at least once or twice a week now to be healthier

I should do that, but I don't think my wife would be able to handle the smell. I only get fish when I go out to eat and usually then it is fried 99% of the time.

Good morning, Mr. @tattoodjay

I'm a boat fanatic. Every time I see one, I can't help but admire it.

I love the lighting in the photos; it makes them look really good.

Excellent shots.

Loving the colour of those red and blue boats in the twilight. You could frame them and they wouldn’t look out of place in a gallery
