Acushnet Sawmill

Acushnet Sawmill

At the edge of New Bedford’s urban North End sits The Sawmill, Sometimes called the Acushnet Sawmill, I am not sure if strictly speaking it is in New Bedford or Acushnet oor maybe it covers both it is a a 19-acre former industrial lumber yard on the Acushnet River. This Buzzards Bay Coalition-owned public park protects the river’s health and offers local residents of all ages a beautiful place to explore the outdoors here at the Acushnet River Reserve

Whenever I visit there the first spot I walk to is ofthe this one looking across the water and on a nice day one gets to see some cool reflections, such as I did on this day

Also at this spot I often find someone fishing, not sure if they ever catch anything but a nice spot for it

It doiesnt have long trails, but is still a nice area for a stroll and to breathe in some fresh air

To the left of this bridge is a small Herring run, I have visited there at the times the fish are supposedly running but never seen them but i will keep trying and hopefully one day I will see them I can but hope :)

At another view point inthe park over the water and can often see a variety of birds, many flying around and so hard to get shots of but the swans are easy to capture

Hello dear friend @tattoodjay good morning
If the idea is to be close to nature, this park is ideal to visit. What beautiful shots, I love the reflections you got.
I don't think there's much luck fishing, it doesn't seem to be a good fishing spot.
Thank you very much for sharing these beauties
Have a great day

That picture of the white swan in the dark lake is a beauty. Simulate a work of art. Waked up the ballet " The lake of the swans ". Thanks for sharing.

Oh yeah, those colors are just so warm in that one photo of the leaves changing. I can understand why you keep coming back to this place.

Great shot of that swan at the end 👍 I also like the first shot. Thats so much like the picture I take of my lake so often. Shoreline on both sides, sky above, water below, shore angling off to a point in middle of frame.

If the fish are running, wouldn't you find them on land?

What a beautiful spot to get away. It looks like a nice quiet spot to go fishing, but if there aren't any fish it's a bit futile.
