A few mono shots from recent walks

A few mono shots from recent walks

Good Morning another work week begins, well for those working, for me not so much other than working on photo walks and things around gthe house ;)

as I do on Mondays starting the week with a few Mono shots from recent walks

Starting with a shot on the Cove walk here in New Bedford, a popular spot for walkers, but not one I often walk as its not always the best spot to catch sunrises which is when I mostly get out walking, in my last Wednesday walk post I shared a shot of this Mural in color, but this view of it and the walk way I preferred in Mono

Next up from a visit to Haskell Gardens, not much growing at this stage in this greenhouse, if it had bene this may have been a color edit but empty like this I felt it looked better in MOno lettign out eyes focus more on the details and shadows

And from a walk on Popes Island, by one of the marines a shot of the Swing Truss Bridge open to let boats pass through, whenever i visit there I cant resist gettign shots of this bridge from various angles
I read somewhere this morning, thta the plans to replace this bridge are for work to start in 2027, so I will have time to get plenty more shots of it before then

One morning when I got home from a sunrise walk, my step count was a little low, so I walked through Oak Groove Cemetery for a bit to get my step count up, as I was walking back i saw this view and snapped a shot

I really like the mono shot in the cemetery. It works really well for that. It's hard to handle the greenhouse one because I am pretty sure from your past photos it has lots of colorful panes of glass right?

Absolutely gorgeous shots there. The cemetery is somehow my favorite of the bunch, the feel just comes out perfect for the view. Interesting that they are pushing forward with the new bridge so soon, but the old one must be having more mechanical or structural issues. Great shot of it rotated to let the boats by!

The greenhouse must be out of season, do they only use it in early winter and spring?

Very nice mono selections. Interesting they seem to be bright even though in mono, often it seems black and white photography can be dark or dim.

I’ve been trying black and white edits too lately—it really makes you focus more on the details and textures, just like you said about the greenhouse

You always manage to find beauty in the most unexpected places, especially that shot from Oak Grove Cemetery. Simple but full of mood.
