a bit of a rant

A bit of a rant

Now for most of my posts I try to be positive and focus on the beauty I see on my walks in the area, but this post will be a little different.

So givign all who venture to read this post a bit of a warning, I am going to have a bit of a rant of a pet peeve of mine, but I will start and finish the post with photos of beauty, well beauty to me.

With this little spot in Buttonwood Park

ITs in a part of the park that has signs at a couple of the entrances to it saying it is a wildlife reserve, and I often hear birds chirping away( not that I often see them and even less often am able to get photos of them LOL), Suirrels running around and probably other animals deeper into the woods.

and often when I visit the park I will walk down a little trail that takes me to this spot on a little wooden bridge looking over the nive view I shared first.

the sound of the birds, wind in the trees and the water and greenery is such a elaxign spot,

Until one looks down in the water beside the bridge

and one sees cans bottles and other things people have finished and been to lazy to carry back out of the park and just throw it into the pond

Now there was tones on either side of the bridge but i wont bore you with shots of it all, just three to make my point.

How hard is it to carry out all you take into a park, sure there are no bins in this part of the park, but there are plenty all around it.

I always have a plastic bag in my camera bag and often use it to put bits of trash I find on my walks , but I didn't feel like walking into the pond to clean these up and feel kind of bad now I just left them there

and as promised a more positive image to finish off the post some plants growing in the water on the other side of the bridge

And that’s all folks

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.

It is a shame to see people behave in such a callous way, just when you think you have seen it all, someone comes along and trumps it.

Exactly I just ask myself why so lazy to do this

Some people simply just do this (throwing trash in the nature). Even if the trash can is literally a few steps away.

I'm constantly picking litter up in my village. One of the village swans is sat on her nest with at least 4 footballs around her in the water.

I'm surprised to see a Prime bottle thrown away as I thought they'd become collectors items. Litter is a real pain.

I do the same cleaning up trash I get so frustrated when I see trash like this

Nothing irks one more than the filth we see of late, people drive around tossing whatever out their car window. Others must come and clean up the town, meaning those who live there not the ones who travel through.

Photographers normally avoid the ugly side of life trying to present a positive, yet the negative effects of filth creeping in everywhere with human convenience of cans, plastic carriers or bottles.

!LUV to You and Lulu have a lovely day.

People are pigs. In Vermont, we do a clean up in May... oddly close to Earth Day but not on Earth Day 🤔

Basically you pick up a stretch of the road or trails or where ever and put the bag along the side of the road. Voluteers collect the bags and take them to the dump. We did a little more this year lol I finally went down the hill into the forest in front of my neighbors house and cleaned up his garbage 🤦‍♂️ he always gets "beared" a few times a year because he puts his garbage out the night before pickup. Come on. Either don't leave it out all night or clean up when the bears get it. One or the other.

It’s such a shame that people don’t take their own trash with them and just throw it in nature… I get angry at those things too. It’s sad to see.
So many people are trying, and some… mess it up.

Great captures of the nicer parts though 😎
Happy weekend @tattoodjay
I am caught up and managed some posts the last days.

Definitely not hard to carry the trash back out...

but I didn't feel like walking into the pond to clean these up and feel kind of bad now I just left them there

Unless you take a long pole or better yet a pool cleaner with you, it's not a great idea to go on that kind of a cleaning spree :(

Yeah probably would not have bene a good idea to go walking into the pond

Maybe you could get a volunteer group together to go out there with big bags and everything, and get it cleaned up properly :) poles and such too!

funnily enough I just replied to another comment and said this

one morning in Milford years back the beach was a real mess on a Monday morning after i guess a busy beach weekend, my little plastic bag I carried with me didnt make a dent in the beach, then a family came along, and saw me doing it, the mother started to help and their daughter said Ohh yuck and ran back to the car and her dad they got in the car and drove off and I thought ohh well clearly she thought cleaning a beach was not her thing and the mother looked a bit surprised when they drove off

about ten minutes later they drove back, dad daughter and what happened to be three of her friends complete with rakes and big garbage bags, and that filled my heart that their is still goodness sin the world

over the next ten minutes, 3 cars pilled up with more of her school mates and parents and we soon had a good crowd cleaning up the beach

and I am not sure if it was this group or just a coincidence but from a fortnight later they had beach clan up days each Sunday evening in different spots around the city

I’m with you on that rant completely. Most not all but most people don’t give a shit about anything. Especially these two newer generations. And by the look of the bottles it was definitely younger people no doubt. It’s a shame.

OHh yeah I was sure it was the younger generation as well but resisted saying that feeling it made me sound like a grumpy old man LOL

Thank you for highlighting modern day pollution of cans and plastics, many people are ignorant of their actions on nature. It's gonna take time and lots of education to get everyone at par. Unpolluted, nature is beautiful just like in the first picture. Do keep enjoying your weekend :}

This is a HUGE problem in so many parks in the states!! I think it's great that you took time to highlight it, like REALLY great. I like to pick up trash with the kids, it is a good lesson for both them and me... reverence in practice. Regardless of ecological stance, only garbage people leave their garbage behind imo.

All of the photos were beautiful, even the ones that focus on the less desirable parts of shared nature. Cheers 😁

thanks for your visit and I think its awesome you are setting the right mindset for your children by picking up trash with them

ACK! I realized just now that I left an important word out there- I hope you read that in the nice way I meant it 😅🤣

People who leave their garbage behind suck, not those who don't walk into bodies of water when they are not dressed to do so. WHEW

I always carry a bag with me too, it is such a small thing to pick up after oneself. I can't believe so many think it is okay to drop your trash wherever you are standing.

Worse, they usually aren't even ashamed of themselves.

OHh yeah I remember one morning I was picking up some trash off a beach and a couple walked by looking at me as if I was weird

I find that weird that it doesn't bother most people and then there are others that will help you. I guess that is what makes the world go round.
