Mosaics and other attractions of the big courtyard in the city center
Greetings friends! This is a continuation of the story about the mosaic courtyard. After checking out the mosaic fountain, mosaic sculptures and mosaic paintings, I decided to walk around a bit and look for other sights. They may not be as winsome looking - but, in my opinion, just as interesting. Admittedly, this part of the walk was not without mosaics either - some of the art objects are located further away from the main art area.
This courtyard would be interesting on its own, regardless of the presence of any art objects. This courtyard occupies a whole block between the embankments of two rivers and two ancient streets. The houses facing these embankments and streets are numbered differently, but from the side of the courtyard it is difficult to see where one house ends and another begins: the courtyards and patios are a labyrinth.
The parts of the courtyard closer to the entrance arches are used as parking lots. But the courtyards you come to while wandering through this labyrinth are free of parking lots. Although you might see a parked bicycle or an old car that hasn't left its spot in years.
In a narrow passage between two walls of neighboring buildings, I noticed a bright multi-colored spot on the wall. I walked closer to examine the pattern in detail. Surprisingly enough, it had nothing to do with the art space near where I had started my walk. This drawing appeared here thanks to a modest door just to the left: behind it is a chess club.
Part of the plot of this drawing is devoted to chess: one can easily guess the chess clock and the chess pieces. But at the side I suddenly saw a red cat! What does it have to do with it? Perhaps it's just that the inhabitants of the yard love cats? In a neighboring small yard, I saw a well-appointed cat corner.
Around another corner, I saw a mosaic canvas: wandering through the far corners, I made almost a full circle and came close to the beginning of my walk. This part of the courtyard is not completely filled with mosaics, but each work attracts attention.
