Wet street photography [ENG-ESP] Monomad Challenge
Hello to all lovers of black and white 👋
Here in central Cuba, we are still wet. The rains continue and, as a result, the streets are flooded.
The sample I bring you today captures precisely this reality. It is a glimpse of everyday life in the midst of these conditions, where people try to continue with their routines.
I wanted to add two photographs to this sample that I took with my phone. I didn't have my camera with me at the time, but I didn't want to miss the opportunity. It was 6 a.m., and we were all under umbrellas, and there was a beautiful rainbow in the sky as a result of all the humidity and the sun coming out.
Although we usually see photographs of rainbows showing the beauty of their colors, I found it interesting to convert this image to black and white. The contrast that was achieved made it seem as if everything was protected and sheltered under its arch.

Por acá, por el centro de Cuba, seguimos mojados. Las lluvias no cesan y, como consecuencia, las calles están inundadas
La muestra que les traigo hoy capta justamente esta realidad. Es un vistazo a la vida cotidiana en medio de estas condiciones, donde las personas intentan continuar con sus rutina.
Quise agregar a esta muestra dos fotografías que realicé con mi teléfono. Pues no tenía mi cámara en ese momento pero no quería perder la oportunidad. Eran las 6 am y ya todos estábamos bajo paraguas y en el cielo se veía un hermoso arcoíris como resultado de tanta humedad y el sol saliendo.
Aunque solemos ver fotografías de arcoíris mostrando la belleza de sus colores, llevar esta imagen al blanco y negro me resultó interesante. El contraste que se lograba hacía parecer que todo estaba protegido y resguardado bajo su arco.
