Sneeze Me

I get terrible spring allergies, with sniffing, watering eyes, and sneezing until I get a headache. I take medication for it, so I wonder how bad it would be without. This all started about 15 years ago and prior, I had zero allergies at all. It makes me really tired, as my body puts in effort to react to something it doesn't need to worry about.

Oh well.

Just add it to the already long and continuously growing list of discomforts.

image.png

But it is holding me back.

My capacity to perform has decreased, so I have been taking it a little easier the last couple days and focusing on the hard physical work in the garden, letting a few other things slide. The weather is going to turn cooler again and rain, and I want to get a number of things done before that happens, because I won't be able to do them when it is raining, and the rain will be good for the garden - if it is ready to receive it, that is. We took a big step toward that end today, planting an entire large garden bed with a range of plants that will hopefully stagger and flower from May all the way through to October.

I suspect that we are going to have to spend a few years adjusting to get it right, but at least we now have something to work with. And Hopefully they will take and grow and give us something greenish to look at during this summer too. Since we won't be travelling very much, the plan is to enjoy our garden and grill a lot of meat and vegetables. I am looking forward to sitting around with a glass of wine too. If crypto has a good summer, I might build a patio.

Do you remember how crypto was all "Lambo!"

I wonder if those people have matured much in the last decade or so. They were in their mid twenties to early thirties back then, so now they are fortyish and likely in different stages of life. Have their expectations and desires changed? Are they more like me where instead of Lambo, it is

Patio!

I have always found it a bit strange when people's desires from when they were younger haven't changed at all, because with more experience, more exposure, it just seems natural that we would "grow out" of some things and "grow into" other things. Some people seem to spend a lot of their time looking at satisfying their childhood desires though. It is a bit weird.

But to each their own in this case, and I know that there are plenty of people who have absolutely no interest in the things that I currently find interesting. Maybe one day they will, or maybe I will pivot to look into what they are interested in now, but the beauty of the world is, we don't have to do what others are doing. Though, a lot of the culture and trend content we are pushed can make it seem like we have to do whatever our group is doing, and if we don't, we are out.

But who actually cares?

Yet, no matter how many times people say they don't care - I only ever half believe them.

But that is another topic.

I'm starting to get there and I'm the only one to blame.

That's already more than one can hope in finland. xD

Do all you can to stay healthy!

And yeah, I am sceptical about October, but I won't be outside much in the garden at that point anyway, so I don't care :D

My wife now spends half a day every day in our garden. She has planted many different plants, she says she likes it there. I am now in another city and I also want to go to our garden, but only to sit with a shashlik and a glass of wine in good weather :)

Sounds okay to me. What kind of meat do you normally use there?

I buy ready-made marinated pork shashlik at the butcher's. In June, we pick a lot of things for the table in our garden - greens, garlic, cucumbers and berries.

Allergies can be so draining. I totally get what you mean. It’s impressive that you’re still managing to get things done in the garden despite feeling rough and roughly coping with the allergies couple with the weather.

I think people 'taste' or 'want' change with time or better still. i should say that human just accept it as they are since they couldn't fulfil what their dreams are when they were young.

I know a person who as a kid wanted to spend all their money on toy cars. And he told his parents while in a tantrum that they wouldn't buy him a car, said "When I grow up, I am going to spend all my money on toy cars". As an adult, he essentially did this with actual cars - to the detriment of his family.

Hmm, I guess he is fortunate to have the resources to get those at his disposal even though it costs his family dearly.

A Wake-Up Call: Accountability and Redemption in the Hive Ecosystem

To those who believe their actions on the Hive blockchain go unnoticed, it’s time to confront the truth. The power you think you wield through downvotes, vote farming, and manipulation is an illusion. True strength lies in doing what’s right, not in exploiting systems for personal gain or silencing others out of fear.

1. The Illusion of Power Through Exploitation

If you’re downvoting critics, running coordinated farms, or hoarding influence to control rewards, ask yourself: What does this say about your character? Manipulating Hive’s reward system doesn’t make you powerful—it exposes vulnerabilities. It shows a reliance on unethical tactics to feel significant in a space that was meant to empower everyone equally.

But here’s the reality: these actions won’t bring lasting satisfaction. At night, when you’re alone with your thoughts, do you truly believe what you’re doing is right? Regret has a way of lingering, and no amount of HIVE tokens can silence the voice inside telling you there’s a better path.

2. The Ripple Effect of Your Actions

Your choices don’t just harm Hive—they affect the people around you. Your online friends may follow along now, but loyalty built on shaky foundations crumbles quickly. And what about your family? Do they understand how much energy you pour into behaviors that ultimately hurt others and yourself?

Every action has consequences, and the deeper you dig, the harder it becomes to climb out. You’re not just harming Hive—you’re pulling those close to you into a cycle of negativity and regret. Is it worth it?

3. Change Before It’s Too Late

The Bilpcoin team isn’t here to attack individuals—we’re here to spark change. We’ve seen the evidence, and we know the impact of manipulative practices. But we also believe in redemption. There’s still time to step back, reflect, and choose a different path.

Ask yourself:

  • What legacy do you want to leave on Hive?
  • How will you feel years from now looking back at how you treated others?
  • Wouldn’t it feel better to contribute positively rather than exploit and divide?

Hive deserves better. So do you.

4. Strength Lies in Doing What’s Right

Real power comes from integrity, not manipulation. Instead of focusing on how many tokens you can farm or how many users you can silence, consider how you can add value to the ecosystem. Create meaningful content, support genuine contributors, and advocate for reforms that benefit everyone—not just a select few.

If you continue down your current path, remember this: you are being watched. Many stay silent, but they see everything. Blockchain data doesn’t lie, and accountability always comes knocking—whether today, tomorrow, or years from now.

5. A Final Plea: Fix What Needs Fixing

It’s never too late to change course. Stop the farming, stop the toxicity, and start contributing to Hive in ways that uplift rather than tear down. If you’re struggling with why you’ve chosen this path, take a moment to reflect. Seek help if needed—there’s no shame in admitting you’ve lost your way.

The Hive community is watching, waiting, and hoping for positive change. Will you rise to the occasion, or will you let regret define your journey? The choice is yours.

From the Bilpcoin Team: We’re committed to helping Hive thrive by exposing the truth and fostering transparency. Let’s work together to build a stronger, fairer ecosystem—one where everyone has a chance to succeed.

What will your next move be?

Addressing the Downvote Issue on Hive: It’s Time for Real Change

Marky Mark Stop the manipulation game Lady Zaza Bpc AI Music

Let’s cut through the noise and address one of the most pressing issues holding Hive back from reaching its full potential: abusive downvotes. The Bipcoin team has consistently exposed the systemic problems that stifle growth on this platform, yet little to no action has been taken. If Hive is to thrive, we must confront these challenges head-on instead of engaging in empty discussions that lead nowhere.

Hive cannot grow if nothing changes. How can new users and smaller creators flourish when they are constantly suppressed by those who exploit the system? Many so-called “whales” contribute nothing meaningful to the ecosystem—instead, they focus solely on farming rewards through manipulative tactics like mass self-voting, spam content, or coordinated downvoting campaigns. These actions discourage genuine participation and erode trust within the community.

Blockchain transactions don’t lie. We’ve seen firsthand the shady methods used to game the system—whether it’s creating alt accounts to amplify votes, orchestrating downvote brigades, or hoarding influence without giving back to the network. Why does this behavior continue unchecked? Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words, and until concrete steps are taken to address these abuses, Hive will struggle to move forward.

We have repeatedly presented evidence of these practices, not to divide but to demand accountability. The truth is out there for anyone willing to look at the data. Yet, despite our efforts, the cycle persists. Today, we’re asking again: Can we finally talk about the real issues plaguing Hive? And more importantly, can we take decisive action to protect the integrity of this platform?

Do not let bullies destroy what makes Hive special. Abuse of power through downvotes and manipulation harms everyone—creators, curators, and the community as a whole. It’s time to fight back against these toxic practices and create an environment where all voices can be heard and rewarded fairly.

The Bipcoin team remains committed to exposing the truth and advocating for meaningful change. But we can’t do it alone. Together, let’s push for solutions that ensure Hive becomes a place of opportunity, fairness, and growth—for everyone.

Enough talk. Let’s see action.

Every curation reward from @buildawhale’s bot votes:

  • Steals from creators.
  • Centralizes power.
  • Normalizes abuse.

Lambo - patio...same same. Any desire or want can become a soul-deep need if it eats at you long enough 😂. As a young girl, I only wanted a horse. Since then, I've had them, and while I still love horses, that deep longing is gone. Can't say the same for the Lambo😂

Is it the fantasy of having a horse as a young girl that does it?
I fell off a horse when I was 7 - haven't got back on.

Can't say the same for the Lambo😂

If someone gave me a lambo - I wouldn't say no.

I am worried about your allergy and yet you work in the garden, it seems contradictory to me, heh, heh, heh, heh. Well, you shouldn't worry about what others say or don't say, what's really important is what you think of yourself. It's like the famous question that psychologists are now using a lot: tell me which are the three most important people for you, I hope you tell me that the first one is you and the other two are your wife and daughter.

As we get older, bodily ailments increase. I was once told by a friend who has passed away: ‘If nothing hurts after 50, you are no longer in this world’. At least I don't get headaches.

I've been thinking about putting in a tiny patio. A tiny place for me to sit on a bench where no one can see me. I spent ten years getting the foliage just right in my Brooklyn garden so that when I put that bench along the north fence of my far back 900 sq ft yard, I would have complete privacy. Within a week of my installing a pretty stone bench back there, my neighbor to the north cut down the hedge just behind my wee bench, and my back was exposed. Why am I telling you this?

I suspect that we are going to have to spend a few years adjusting to get it right,

It will take at least ten years, like most things, and even then you will change it constantly. Gardening is a slow motion visual art.

Some people seem to spend a lot of their time looking at satisfying their childhood desires

Imagination has been killed, our opportunities limited.

we have to do whatever our group is doing, and if we don't, we are out.

We are seeing a great deal of this behavior these days. Common sense is dead.

A tiny place for me to sit on a bench where no one can see me.

This is my office ;D

Why am I telling you this?

I think that one of the great things of an old home, is that it gets evolved with each new owner. Ours has changed a lot over the 60+ years it has been here, and now we get to make our mark - for better or worse!

Imagination has been killed, our opportunities limited.

This is something that saddens me a lot. People without an imagination, don't realise what they are missing.

I have first discovered allergy in my 30s. I was under impression that I had an un-usually long cold that lasted for a month. And then someone told me that I probably have an allergy, that was a revelation :)

For me any over the counter anti-allergy meds completely clear it and no side effects. I do notice I get more allergy if I am outside, so your gardening outside where you consume a lot of pollen might be counter-productive...

In terms of interests and Lambo or any other luxury vehicles. I guess I was born old :) I have always considered cars silly toys and have always been interested in real estate a lot more. This has not changed with age, but I am getting out of my real estate investments to reposition into a less leveraged state as well as for tax reasons.

For me any over the counter anti-allergy meds completely clear it and no side effects.

I take one all year in "preparation" for the season - but when it starts, it suppresses it, but I still get tired.

I do notice I get more allergy if I am outside,

Me too, but not significantly different.

I have always considered cars silly toys and have always been interested in real estate a lot more.

If the person I knew had spent the money on real estate instead, he would have been a multi-millionaire, and then could afford any car he wanted.

This has not changed with age, but I am getting out of my real estate investments to reposition into a less leveraged state as well as for tax reasons.

Have things changed there?

0

The main changes are:

  1. Rates went up from 2-4% into the 7% range, that is a huge difference for long term building of wealth
  2. You can no longer deduct more than 10K per year in State and Local taxes after the Trump tax cuts during his first term. This reduces attractiveness of real estate big time. As I have one house 12k in taxes per year and another house 15k in taxes per year so for me it was a 17k+ tax deduction per year loss and that doesn't include the fact that I could write off some sales taxes before as well...
  3. Local government keeps taxing real estate more and more which is the final nail in the coffin of building wealth via real estate in WA.

Basically 20-30 years ago real estate was a no-brainer investment, now not so much.

You could always try without meds and see how you go seeing as you like testing different conditions 🤣

Or you could just not and say you did given you still seem to have massive symptoms despite the meds.

These days, I like having less attention and do things differently. We should put a timer on this post, so it pops up again in 10 years, and see what happened.

The photo looks a bit like a hand to me.

Patio!

I wonder if I am the only caveman here who had no idea what that is? I think so...

I just watched a movie about someone who had an allergy for 15 years due to something that hurt him psychologically. He eventually got better. My husband also has allergies when he has an illness, we previously thought he was allergic to sugar. I hope you get better.

My expectations have definitely changed. I am not expecting life changing wealth anymore with crypto, but it would be nice to have something to make life a bit more comfortable.

Your thoughts on spring allergies and their effects are so relatable. Shifting your focus to the garden and preparing for the rain shows how you’re finding a balance between managing discomfort and staying productive. Even though I am not familiar with the flower it's looks nice especially on me I am into the flower. The change from dreaming of fancy things like Lamborghinis to something practical like building a patio is both funny and meaningful, it really shows how our priorities evolve over time. That's great, I like how you mix personal experiences with broader ideas about how people grow and change, making it easy to connect with your perspective. It feels like a friendly conversation, sharing simple but thoughtful reflections.Love lots...
