Even though the days are cloudy and the sky at dawn is covered by a light mist, work doesn’t stop—and that’s why today I want to tell you about our Thursday, a day that started out gray but ended full of little moments worth sharing. Before I begin, I want to wish you a wonderful Friday and a happy weekend, because it’s always nice to start the day with good wishes.
For those of us who live on an island where intense sunshine and the heat that envelops us from early in the morning are the norm, a cloudy day and a humid dawn feel like a breath of fresh air. It’s a pleasant change in our environment, which can sometimes become stifling. This Thursday dawned with a partly cloudy sky; at times, the sun managed to break through the clouds and let its warm rays shine through. I love landscapes even when they’re cloudy—they have a special charm—which is why I always try to capture those moments with my phone, because every cloud seems to tell a beautiful story, and each one is different.

Aunque los días estén nublados y el cielo amanezca cubierto por una capa suave de humedad, el trabajo no se detiene, y por eso hoy quiero contarles cómo transcurrió nuestro jueves, un día que comenzó gris pero terminó lleno de pequeños momentos que vale la pena compartir. Antes de comenzar, quiero desearles un hermoso viernes y un feliz fin de semana, porque siempre es bonito iniciar la jornada con buenos deseos.
Para quienes vivimos en una isla donde predominan el sol intenso y el calor que abraza desde temprano, un día nublado y una madrugada húmeda se sienten como un respiro. Es un cambio agradable en nuestro entorno, que a veces puede volverse sofocante. Este jueves amaneció con un cielo parcialmente cubierto; en ocasiones el sol lograba abrirse paso entre las nubes y dejaba ver sus calientes rayos. A mí me gustan los paisajes aunque estén nublados, tienen un encanto especial, por eso siempre trato de capturar esos momentos con mi teléfono, porque cada nube parece contar una linda historia y todas distintas.

We headed into the city because we had to carry out our work routine at the Sunsol Unik hotel. As I’ve told you before, this hotel is located in the city and has different characteristics than those on the beach. Its atmosphere is different, as is the pace of activity, and that gives each visit its own rhythm. Since the hotel is frequently supplied with water by tanker trucks, our tank chlorination and disinfection routines must be carried out consistently, and that’s a responsibility we take very seriously.

Salimos rumbo a la ciudad porque debíamos cumplir con nuestra rutina de trabajo en el hotel Sunsol Unik. Como ya les he contado antes, este hotel es urbano y tiene características diferentes a los que están frente al mar. Su dinámica es distinta, su movimiento también, y eso hace que cada visita tenga su propio ritmo. Como suele ser surtido con gandolas de agua con bastante frecuencia, nuestras rutinas de clorado y desinfección del tanque deben realizarse de manera constante, y esa es una responsabilidad que tomamos muy en serio.

In addition to our work, we had another task to take care of: scouring the city for small cartons of milk, the kind we always bring when we do our chlorine treatments. For us, it’s essential to look after the health and safety of the staff who work with us, and that milk is part of our preventive routine. However, these days—right after a long vacation season—finding that size has become a bit tricky. But the city always offers more options, so we set out on our search with patience.
During our walk, we passed very close to the stadium, and the place provided us with some excellent shots. I love it when an everyday place surprises me with a beautiful image, because it’s those little details that make the day feel a little lighter.

Además del trabajo, teníamos otra tarea pendiente; recorrer la ciudad en busca de leche detallada en presentación pequeña, la que siempre llevamos cuando hacemos los clorados. Para nosotros es indispensable cuidar la salud y protección del personal que trabaja con nosotros, y esa leche es parte de nuestra rutina de prevención. Sin embargo, en estos días, justo después de una larga temporada de vacaciones, conseguir esa presentación se ha vuelto un poco complicado. Pero la ciudad siempre ofrece más opciones, así que emprendimos la búsqueda con paciencia.
Durante el recorrido pasamos muy cerca del estadio, y el lugar nos regaló unas tomas excelentes. Me encanta cuando un sitio cotidiano sorprende con una imagen bonita, porque son esos detalles los que hacen que el día se sienta más ligero.

We kept looking at various stores until someone recommended that we visit the Ecocenter mall. We were told that at their market, called Más por Menos, they had the milk in the size we needed, so we headed there without a second thought.

Seguimos buscando en varios comercios hasta que nos recomendaron visitar el centro comercial Ecocenter. Nos dijeron que en su mercado, llamado “Más por Menos”, tenían la leche en la presentación que necesitábamos, así que hacia allá nos dirigimos sin pensarlo dos veces.

Time flew by. Between work, our search, and the scenery around us, the clock kept ticking without stopping. Before we knew it, it was already four in the afternoon, and the sky was starting to turn gray. Cloudy days make the afternoon fall earlier, and the island, with its natural charm, treated us to some beautiful views that I couldn’t help but capture. Every cloud, every shadow, and every ray of light came together to form the perfect scene to bid the day farewell.

El tiempo pasó volando. Entre el trabajo, la búsqueda y los paisajes que nos acompañaban, el reloj avanzó sin detenerse. Cuando nos dimos cuenta ya eran las cuatro de la tarde, y el cielo comenzaba a tornarse más gris. Los días nublados hacen que la tarde caiga más temprano, y la isla, con su encanto natural, nos regaló unas vistas hermosas que no pude evitar capturar. Cada nube, cada sombra y cada rayo de luz formaban un cuadro perfecto para despedir el día.
