[ENG/ESP] Zaragoza Beach in two perspectives
Greetings, fellow travelers of #worldmappin. On another occasion, I told you about the Zaragoza beach channel, that spot that leads us to the beautiful lagoon known as La Playa. Today, I want to dwell a little longer on this place, because each visit gives me new sensations and perspectives that are worth sharing.
I really like this part of Pedro González, which belongs to the municipality of Gómez, in the state of Nueva Esparta, on Margarita Island. It is a place that combines history, tradition, and natural beauty, and every week, when my work takes me to this municipality, I take the opportunity to enjoy its charm. No matter how busy my schedule is, I always find a moment to contemplate the sea, breathe in its breeze, and let myself be enveloped by the calm it transmits.
On this occasion, I want to show you a little more of Zaragoza Beach. This week, in particular, I said goodbye to my work with the intention of exploring its waters, hills, and nature that radiates life. The carnival vacationers have already left, and the weather, with a few touches of rain, has left the beach empty. I find that solitude comfortable, as it allows me to take pictures in peace, without invading anyone's space. I always try to be respectful of that: the beauty of a place is best enjoyed when the privacy of those who visit it is preserved.
Zaragoza Beach has ocean waters, which means they tend to be cold. For me, if the sun isn't shining brightly, it's difficult to go into the water. However, that coolness also gives it a special character; it's as if the sea wants to remind us that its strength and mystery are always present.
Saludos, amigos viajeros de #worldmappin. En otra ocasión les he hablado del canal de playa “Zaragoza”, ese rincón que nos conduce a la hermosa laguna conocida como “La Playa”. Hoy quiero detenerme un poco más en este lugar, porque cada visita me regala nuevas sensaciones y perspectivas que merecen ser compartidas.
Me gusta bastante esta parte de Pedro González, perteneciente al municipio Gómez, en el estado Nueva Esparta, en Isla Margarita. Es un sitio que combina historia, tradición y belleza natural, y cada semana, cuando el trabajo me lleva hasta este municipio, aprovecho la oportunidad para disfrutar de su encanto. No importa cuán ocupada esté mi agenda; siempre encuentro un momento para contemplar el mar, respirar su brisa y dejarme envolver por la calma que transmite.
En esta ocasión quiero mostrarles un poco más de la playa “Zaragoza”. Esta semana, en particular, me despedí de mis labores con la intención de recorrer sus aguas, cerros y esa naturaleza que irradia vida. Los temporadistas de carnaval ya se han marchado, y el clima, con algunos toques de lluvia, ha dejado la playa vacía. Esa soledad me resulta cómoda, pues me permite tomar fotografías con tranquilidad, sin invadir el espacio de nadie. Siempre trato de ser respetuoso con eso: la belleza de un lugar se disfruta mejor cuando se preserva la intimidad de quienes lo visitan.
La playa Zaragoza es de aguas oceánicas, lo que significa que suelen ser frías. Para mí, si el sol no está radiante, resulta difícil entrar al agua. Sin embargo, esa frescura también le da un carácter especial; es como si el mar quisiera recordarnos que su fuerza y misterio están siempre presentes.
Nature here is generous, especially with birds. The beach forms a kind of cove, and the channel connecting it to the lagoon becomes a regular passageway for fishermen. After their day's work, many of them feed the birds, creating a simple but lively spectacle. It is a reminder of how harmonious the relationship between man and nature can be.
La naturaleza aquí es generosa, especialmente con las aves. La playa se forma como una especie de ensenada, y el canal que conecta con la laguna se convierte en un pasaje habitual para los pescadores. Después de su jornada, muchos de ellos alimentan a las aves, creando un espectáculo sencillo pero lleno de vida. Es un recordatorio de cómo la relación entre el hombre y la naturaleza puede ser armoniosa.
I took some photos from the canal because the views are truly beautiful; the waters display different shades, ranging from deep blue to bright turquoise. Adding to this landscape are picturesque houses and a few establishments that offer accommodation and food during the high season. All of this creates a welcoming atmosphere, where simplicity blends with Margariteña hospitality.

A ese paisaje se suman las casas pintorescas y algunos locales que, en temporada, ofrecen alojamiento y comida. Todo ello crea un ambiente acogedor, donde la sencillez se mezcla con la hospitalidad margariteña.
After capturing those images, I decided to walk along the canal to observe the beach from another angle. I wanted to show it in its entirety, because each perspective reveals a different detail. From the east side, you can see the Punta Zaragoza lighthouse on the hill known locally as “El Piache.” That structure, which guides sailors, has also become a symbol of identity for those who love this place.
Después de capturar esas imágenes, decidí bordear el canal para observar la playa desde otro ángulo. Quería mostrarla en su totalidad, porque cada perspectiva revela un detalle distinto. Desde el lado este se aprecia, sobre el cerro conocido por los locales como “El Piache”, el faro de Punta Zaragoza. Esa estructura, que guía a los navegantes, se convierte también en un símbolo de identidad para quienes aman este lugar.
Zaragoza Beach is very popular with families. Many parents prefer it because it doesn't usually have strong waves; it's quiet, a little cold, yes, but ideal for children and those seeking peace and serenity. When the seasonal visitors arrive, the calm is disturbed a little by the jet skis and the activity typical of the season. However, when they leave, the beach regains its essence; empty umbrellas, clear sand, and a feeling of peace that spreads like a hug.
That tranquility is what I like best. The different shades of blue in the sea seem delicately painted, and each visit reminds me that beauty needs no artifice. Today I wanted to show you just that; the pleasant and serene beach that I enjoy so much.
La playa Zaragoza es muy apreciada por las familias. Muchos padres la prefieren porque no suele tener olas fuertes; es tranquila, un poco fría, sí, pero ideal para los niños y para quienes buscan paz y serenidad. Cuando llegan los temporadistas, la calma se agita un poco por las lanchas acuáticas y la actividad propia de la temporada. Sin embargo, cuando se marchan, la playa recupera su esencia; toldos vacíos, arena despejada y una sensación de paz que se extiende como un abrazo.
Esa tranquilidad es lo que más me gusta. Los diferentes tonos de azul del mar parecen pintados con delicadeza, y cada visita me recuerda que la belleza no necesita artificios. Hoy quise mostrarles precisamente eso; la playa amena y serena que tanto disfruto.
Although the sun was not at its brightest, the day was enough to appreciate the magic of the place. The soft light, combined with the coolness of the water and the silence of the surroundings, created a perfect setting for contemplation and gratitude.
I hope this tour has allowed you to feel, even if just a little, the essence of this incredible beach. Zaragoza is not just a tourist destination; it is a place where nature and calm meet, where every glance reveals a new detail and every visit leaves a mark on the heart.
Aunque el sol no estuvo en su máximo esplendor, el día fue suficiente para apreciar la magia del lugar. La luz tenue, combinada con el frescor del agua y el silencio del entorno, creó un escenario perfecto para contemplar y agradecer.
Espero que este recorrido les haya permitido sentir, aunque sea un poco, la esencia de esta increíble playa. Zaragoza no es solo un destino turístico; es un espacio donde la naturaleza y la calma se encuentran, donde cada mirada descubre un detalle nuevo y cada visita deja una huella en el corazón.
