[ENG/ESP] Wednesday: Unforgettable Moments.

I hope you have a wonderful day. Like every Wednesday, I’m here again to share my journey with you, thanks to the initiative of @tattoodjay, which is always a great source of motivation for me. This format lets me show you a little bit of my days, my routes, and the landscapes that surround me, but it also gives me the chance to enjoy others’ journeys, learn from their perspectives, and feel part of a community that appreciates the simple and the everyday.
Today I’ll tell you that my husband and I woke up early, as we do every day, to start our work routine. The weather was cool, but a bit damp, because it rained quite a bit during the early morning. After several cloudy days with a strong breeze, this rain came as a gift. Nature is immediately grateful; the plants look greener, the paths more vibrant, and the air seems to be cleansed of all weariness. These are the small daily miracles that sometimes go unnoticed, but when you stop to observe them, you realize how important they are.
Our destination was the Sunsol Ecoland hotel, so we took the Portachuelo route, a road that never ceases to amaze us with its imposing hills and curves full of beautiful views. Every time we pass through there, we discover something new: a different color on the mountain, a cloud that settles just where it should, a ray of sunshine that lights up the road as if to welcome us.

On the way to the hotel, we passed through Santa Ana and Tacarigua, two very picturesque towns in the municipality of Gómez. I’m always struck by how hard the people there work to keep their homes and streets looking beautiful. With their freshly painted facades, colorful murals, and a sense of community pride that fills the air on every corner, it’s impossible to pass through without feeling a little bit of joy.

Amid beautiful scenery and lively conversation, we arrived at our destination, where, as always, we were greeted warmly. We carried out our routine tasks of measuring and disinfecting the main tank. The readings were within normal ranges, which is always a relief. After finishing, I took some photos from the top of the tank. Even though I go there every week, I always find something different: a new reflection, an angle I hadn’t seen before, a color that changes with the weather. Nature never repeats itself.

After getting off the tank, we started to leave, but first we paused for a moment to admire the beauty of the hotel. It’s a place that exudes peace, surrounded by greenery and with architecture that blends seamlessly into the surroundings.

We set off on the return trip, but this time we decided to take a different route. We chose to head back along Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue, which runs along the coast. That road has a special charm: hills on one side, the sea on the other, and the sky blending with both in a palette of colors that changes by the minute. It’s impossible not to relax there. Of course, I captured those views with my camera so I could share them with you.

These moments feel like little escapes right in your daily grind, waking up to rain as a reset button, then driving through towns that make you smile just for looking. The contrast of those painted houses and the mountain views? That’s the kind of stuff that sticks with you. Wish I had a road trip like yours right now, makes me want to pack a camera and go find some new horizon.
I totally agree with you. There are days when life gives you little escapes, as if someone had opened a secret window in the middle of your routine.
Sometimes all it takes is that first step, and the path takes care of the rest.
Have a great week 🌹🌷🌺💐🏵️🪷🌻🌼🥀💮🪻🌸🍀
