[ENG/ESP] This Is How My Week Began, Between Traffic and Beautiful Moments

Today I want to share with you how my first workday of the week went—a day that started off with lots of energy and, although it was packed with tasks, also gave me some pleasant moments and little scenes worth remembering.
As usual, my day started very early. The weather was quite cool, with a slightly cloudy sky that let in a soft light—the kind that invites you to start the day calmly. Although the sky wasn’t completely clear, that didn’t stop me from capturing the beauty of the journey. I always keep my phone handy, and I love to stop for a few seconds to photograph whatever brings me peace—a tree, a quiet street, a reflection of light, any detail that reminds me that every day has its own essence.

Hoy quiero compartirles cómo fue mi primer día de trabajo de la semana, un día que comenzó con mucha energía y que, aunque estuvo lleno de tareas, también me regaló momentos agradables y pequeñas escenas que vale la pena recordar.
Como de costumbre, mi jornada inició bien temprano. El clima estaba bastante fresco, con un cielo ligeramente nublado que dejaba pasar una luz suave, de esas que invitan a comenzar el día con calma. Aunque el cielo no estaba completamente despejado, eso no fue impedimento para que capturara la belleza del camino. Siempre llevo mi teléfono a la mano, y me encanta detenerme unos segundos para fotografiar aquello que me transmite paz; un árbol, una calle tranquila, un reflejo de luz, cualquier detalle que me recuerde que cada día tiene su propia esencia.
Our first task of the day was to head to the Parque Costa Azul Shopping Center to carry out the routine disinfection and chlorination. After that, we had to go into town to buy a gallon of paint to spruce up the storage room, since we have an inspection this week and we want everything to look spotless. So we knew early on that it was going to be a pretty busy day.
Traffic, as is often the case on Mondays, was pretty heavy. We were moving slowly, almost at a snail’s pace, and although that can drive anyone crazy, I tried to stay calm and make the most of the time by observing the cityscape. Sometimes, even in the middle of traffic, you can find moments of serenity if you choose to look at things with fresh eyes.
Nuestra primera tarea del día era dirigirnos al Centro Comercial Parque Costa Azul para realizar la rutina de desinfección y cloración. Después de eso, debíamos ir a la ciudad a comprar un galón de pintura para mejorar el depósito, ya que esta semana tendremos una inspección y queremos que todo esté impecable. Así que desde temprano ya sabíamos que sería un día bastante movido.
El tráfico, como suele ocurrir los lunes, estaba bastante congestionado. Avanzábamos despacio, casi a paso de tortuga, y aunque eso puede desesperar a cualquiera, traté de mantener la calma y aprovechar el tiempo observando el paisaje urbano. A veces, incluso en medio del tráfico, se pueden encontrar momentos de serenidad si uno decide mirar con otros ojos.
We finally arrived at our first destination. As we entered the mall, we were greeted by the air-conditioned air, which felt wonderful after the heat that was starting to build up outside. That refreshing sensation, combined with the quiet of the aisles at that hour, was like a little breather before we got down to business.
Finalmente llegamos a nuestro primer destino. Al entrar al centro comercial, nos recibió su aire climatizado, que se sentía delicioso después del calorcito que empezaba a levantarse afuera. Esa sensación de frescura, combinada con el silencio de los pasillos a esa hora, fue como un pequeño respiro antes de comenzar la labor.
We walked to the office where the maintenance manager always assists us; she is a very friendly person who guides us through the entire process. After measuring the residual chlorine and verifying that everything was within the proper parameters, we proceeded with the routine maintenance. Everything went smoothly, which is always satisfying because it means the previous work was done well and the water is maintained in optimal condition.
Caminamos hasta la oficina donde siempre nos atiende la gerente de mantenimiento, una persona muy amable que nos acompaña durante todo el proceso. Después de realizar la medición del cloro residual y verificar que todo estuviera dentro de los parámetros adecuados, procedimos con la rutina correspondiente. Todo marchó excelente, lo cual siempre es una satisfacción, porque significa que el trabajo previo se ha hecho bien y que el agua se mantiene en condiciones óptimas.
When we were done, we left feeling happy that we’d completed the first task of the day. Then we headed to our second stop: buying paint at El Mundo del Color. As soon as we arrived, they helped us right away and recommended the right paint for our needs. It was just one wall, but since we’ll be having an inspection, we want every detail to be perfect. Sometimes, those little touches make a big difference.
Al terminar, nos retiramos contentos por haber cumplido la primera tarea del día. Luego nos dirigimos a nuestro segundo destino: comprar la pintura en El Mundo del Color. Apenas llegamos, nos atendieron enseguida y nos recomendaron la pintura adecuada para lo que necesitábamos. Solo era una pared, pero como tendremos inspección, queremos que cada detalle esté perfecto. A veces, esos pequeños retoques hacen una gran diferencia.
With the paint in hand and the feeling that we’d finished all our tasks for the day, we headed home. Our bodies were already craving some rest, and nothing feels better than getting home, taking off your shoes, and relaxing after a productive day.
Con la pintura en mano y la sensación de haber cumplido con todas las tareas del día, emprendimos el regreso a casa. Ya el cuerpo pedía descanso, y nada se siente mejor que llegar, quitarse los zapatos y relajarse después de una jornada productiva.
That’s how my first day of the week ended: busy, yes, but also filled with simple moments that make it all worthwhile.
