[ENG/ESP] The Week Wakes Up, and I'm Right There With It
A new week begins, and with it, the work and responsibilities that accompany us day after day. I always think that the start of each week is like a small opportunity for renewal—a chance to reorganize our thoughts, catch up on pending tasks, and, above all, move forward with a positive attitude. That’s why I sincerely hope your week is beautiful, happy, and productive—full of moments that allow you to feel useful, at peace, and in harmony with what you do.
My day started very early; in fact, I was already up before the sun had fully risen. I felt rested, energetic, and filled with that special energy that sometimes appears for no apparent reason—as if my body knew the day would be busy and decided to prepare itself. The weather clouded over a bit at times, but even so, the heat was intense from dawn on. On days like that on the island, you always have to be very mindful of staying hydrated, because the sun is relentless and you end up exhausted without even realizing it.
Una semana nueva comienza y, con ella, el trabajo y las responsabilidades que nos acompañan día tras día. Siempre pienso que cada inicio de semana es como una pequeña oportunidad de renovación, un espacio para reorganizar ideas, retomar pendientes y, sobre todo, avanzar con buen ánimo. Por eso deseo de corazón que su semana sea hermosa, feliz y productiva, llena de momentos que les permitan sentirse útiles, tranquilos y en armonía con lo que hacen.
Mi día comenzó muy temprano; de hecho, antes de que el sol terminara de asomarse ya estaba en pie. Me sentía descansada, activa y con esa energía especial que a veces aparece sin explicación, como si el cuerpo supiera que la jornada será movida y decide prepararse. El clima, por momentos, se nublaba un poco, pero aun así el calor era intenso desde el amanecer. Ese tipo de días en la isla siempre exige estar muy pendiente de la hidratación, porque el sol no perdona y uno termina agotado sin darse cuenta.
My tasks for the day were clear: turn in my invoices from the previous week at the offices in the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, and then carry out my chlorination and disinfection routine at the Sunsol Unik hotel. Along the way, we saw urban and natural landscapes that, as always, were beautiful and ever-changing. We went from bright sunshine illuminating every corner to a hill covered by a cloud cap that looked like it had been painted. That’s how contrasts are on the island: sudden, intense, and sometimes magical.
Mis tareas del día eran claras; entregar mis facturas de la semana anterior en las oficinas del centro comercial Parque Costa Azul y luego hacer mi rutina de cloración y desinfección en el hotel Sunsol Unik. En nuestro recorrido pudimos ver paisajes urbanos y naturales que, como siempre, se mostraban hermosos y cambiantes. Pasamos de un sol radiante que iluminaba cada rincón, a un cerro cubierto por un sombrero de nubes que parecía pintado. Así son los contrastes en la Isla; repentinos, intensos y, a veces, mágicos.
Our first stop was at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center. I always end up spending a little extra time there because I’m never alone; there are almost always contractors waiting there too, and we have to wait in line. But that wait becomes enjoyable because it gives me a chance to chat with the girls at the department who welcome me with the same warmth every week. They do their jobs with dedication and always have a kind word to say. Amid laughter, comments, and little chats, time flies by. I only realize just how long it was when I step outside and look at my watch.
Nuestra primera parada fue en el centro comercial Parque Costa Azul. Allí siempre me demoro un poco porque nunca estoy sola; casi siempre hay contratistas esperando también, y toca hacer fila. Pero ese tiempo de espera se vuelve agradable porque me permite conversar con las muchachas del departamento que cada semana me reciben con el mismo cariño. Ellas hacen su trabajo con dedicación y siempre tienen una palabra amable. Entre risas, comentarios y pequeñas conversaciones, el tiempo pasa volando. Solo me doy cuenta de lo extenso que fue cuando salgo y miro el reloj.
With that task completed, we headed to the Sunsol Unik Hotel to carry out the chlorination and disinfection routine for the main freshwater tank. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the maintenance manager with his usual warmth; he is always attentive and respectful. After completing our work, verifying the readings, and ensuring that everything was in order, we left with the satisfaction of a job well done, without any setbacks—just as one always hopes.
Con esa tarea resuelta, nos dirigimos al hotel Sunsol Unik para realizar la rutina de cloración y desinfección del tanque principal de aguas blancas. Al llegar, fuimos recibidos por el gerente de mantenimiento con su acostumbrada cordialidad, siempre atento y respetuoso. Después de realizar nuestro trabajo, verificar los valores y asegurarnos de que todo estuviera en orden, nos retiramos con la satisfacción del deber cumplido, sin ningún contratiempo, como uno siempre espera.
On the way home, nature once again treated us to its beauty. The sky, the mountains, and that warm air so characteristic of the island seemed to remind us that, even though the week is just beginning, there are always reasons to appreciate our surroundings. I love days that flow like this—smoothly, without unnecessary rush—with the feeling that everything fits together and moves in harmony. This Monday was one of those days that feels light and, at the same time, complete.

De regreso a casa, la naturaleza volvió a regalarnos su belleza. El cielo, las montañas y ese aire cálido que caracteriza la isla parecían recordarnos que, aunque la semana apenas comienza, siempre hay motivos para apreciar lo que nos rodea. Me gustan los días que fluyen así, sin tropiezos, sin apuros innecesarios, con la sensación de que todo encaja y se mueve en armonía. Este lunes fue uno de esos días que se sienten ligeros y, al mismo tiempo, completos.
