Another day of work and beautiful scenery on the island.
I wish you all a radiant day, as bright as the one we’re expecting here on Margarita Island, where every sunrise seems painted with strokes of sunshine and a cool breeze.
Today at home we woke up calmly, without rushing, enjoying that little breather that routine sometimes gives us. We didn’t have to leave early because work was scheduled for the afternoon, and besides, it was just one location: the Sunsol Unik Hotel, where we had to carry out our chlorination and disinfection routine. The maintenance manager asked us to come later, something that happens occasionally when they need to adjust schedules due to internal activities. That gave us plenty of time in the morning to get a few things done at home, take care of pending details, and, of course, enjoy a quiet moment before lunch.
After lunch, we got ready to head out. The afternoon was radiant, with that intense glow you only see when the sun is high in the sky—typical of midday in Margarita. The heat was intense, but even so, the light had something special about it, as if everything were bathed in brilliant hues. I took the opportunity to capture a few moments—little snippets of the day that I always love to share with you.
Otro día más de trabajo y de hermosos paisajes en la Isla.
Les deseo un día radiante, tan luminoso como el que se avizora acá en Isla Margarita, donde cada amanecer parece pintado con pinceladas de sol y brisa fresca.
Hoy en casa nos levantamos con calma, sin prisas, disfrutando ese pequeño respiro que a veces nos regala la rutina. No debíamos salir temprano porque el trabajo estaba pautado para la tarde y, además, era un solo lugar; el hotel Sunsol Unik, donde teníamos que realizar nuestra rutina de clorado y desinfección. El gerente de mantenimiento nos pidió que fuéramos más tarde, algo que ocurre en ocasiones cuando necesitan ajustar horarios por actividades internas. Eso nos dejó un buen espacio en la mañana para adelantar algunas cosas en casa, organizar detalles pendientes y, por supuesto, disfrutar un rato de tranquilidad antes de almorzar.
Después de comer, nos preparamos para salir. La tarde estaba radiante, con ese brillo intenso que solo se ve cuando el sol está alto, propio de los mediodías en Margarita. El calor se sentía fuerte, pero aun así la luz tenía algo especial, como si todo estuviera envuelto en unos tonos brillantes. Aproveché para capturar algunos instantes, pequeños fragmentos del día que siempre me gusta compartir con ustedes.
When we arrived at the hotel, we found that they were unloading a water tanker into the main tank, so we had to wait a little while before we could begin. These things happen and are part of the job, so we took it in stride. In the meantime, we watched the staff go about their business—the comings and goings of those who keep the hotel running with such dedication. When everything was ready, we carried out our routine carefully, checking each parameter until the levels were exactly where they needed to be. Once we were done, we left with the satisfaction of a job well done.
Al llegar al hotel, nos encontramos con que estaban descargando una gandola de agua en el tanque principal, así que debíamos esperar un poco antes de comenzar. Estas cosas pasan y forman parte del trabajo, así que lo tomamos con paciencia. Mientras tanto, observábamos el movimiento del personal, el ir y venir de quienes mantienen el hotel funcionando con tanta dedicación. Cuando todo estuvo listo, realizamos nuestra rutina con cuidado, revisando cada parámetro hasta que los niveles quedaron en el punto indicado. Una vez terminado, nos retiramos con la satisfacción del deber cumplido.
This time, we decided to take a different route home. Sometimes changing your route is enough to transform your day, and that’s exactly what happened. We passed by Guacuco Beach, where the scenery treated us to a moment of visual delight.
En esta oportunidad decidimos tomar un camino diferente para regresar a casa. A veces cambiar la ruta es suficiente para transformar el día, y así fue. Pasamos por playa Guacuco, donde el paisaje nos regaló un momento de recreación visual.
You could tell there were vacationers on the island, because even though it was a weekday, the beach was full of people enjoying the ocean, the sun, and that cheerful atmosphere that characterizes Guacuco.
Se notaba que hay temporadistas en la Isla, porque aunque era un día entre semana, la playa estaba llena de personas disfrutando del mar, del sol y de ese ambiente alegre que caracteriza a Guacuco.
We continued our journey and passed through Guarame, where the scenery was truly beautiful. Gentle mountains, vegetation that bravely withstands the drought, and that vast sky that seems to accompany our every step. We loved taking a different route; it was a relaxing, almost therapeutic experience, which is why I wanted to share it with you. Sometimes, in the midst of our daily routine, these little detours turn out to be unexpected gifts.
Continuamos nuestro recorrido y atravesamos por Guarame, donde los paisajes eran realmente hermosos. Montañas suaves, vegetación que resiste la sequía con nobleza, y ese cielo amplio que parece acompañar cada paso. Tomar un camino diferente nos encantó; fue una experiencia relajante, casi terapéutica, y por eso quería compartirla con ustedes. A veces, en medio de la rutina, estos pequeños desvíos se convierten en regalos inesperados.
