[ENG/ESP] New Chicks at Home
Greetings, dear friends of #hivepets community ! I am pleased to share with you my first post of this year. I want to tell you that all my pets are doing great. My dogs, Frida and Koqui, are much less stressed. In fact, they don't even seem to remember the rockets they launched at the end of the year. It was a very stressful month for them, but I'm not going to talk about them today.
On this day, I want to introduce you to two new pets that one day became part of our family: two adorable chicks that have just hatched. We are very excited about their birth at home.
¡Saludos, queridos amigos de comunidad de #hivepets ! Me complace compartir con ustedes mi primera publicación de este año. Quiero contarles que todas mis mascotas están muy bien. Mis perros, Frida y Koqui, están mucho menos estresados. De hecho, parece que ya ni recuerdan los cohetes que lanzaron a fin de año. Fue un mes muy estresante para ellos, pero hoy no voy a hablar de ellos.
En este día, quiero presentarles a dos nuevas mascotas que ase un día comenzaron hace parte de nuestra familia: dos adorables pollitos que acaban de salir del cascarón. Estamos muy emocionados por su nacimiento en casa.
Let me start by telling you that the parents of these tender chicks are called "One", which is a cockerel hen, and "Two", which is a big and beautiful rooster, both of them were spoiled chicks in their time.
Permítanme comenzar contándoles que los padres de estos tiernos pollitos se llaman "Uno", que es una gallina gallipavo, y "Dos", es un gallo grande y hermoso, los dos fueron unos pollitos mimados en su oportunidad.
They received those names because we initially planned for them to grow up without names so we could eventually fatten them up and consume them, but we did not succeed, love and affection overcame us.
Like the chickens before them, they also became pets in our house.
"Uno" lays quite a few large eggs, but had not managed to get chicks, so they brought me a small incubator to lay the eggs, I only laid six eggs to try.
Recibieron esos nombres porque inicialmente planeábamos que crecieran sin nombres para poder eventualmente engordarlos y consumirlos, pero no lo logramos, el amor y el cariño,nos venció.
Al igual que los pollos anteriores, también se convirtieron en mascotas en nuestra casa.
"Uno" pone bastantes huevos bien grandes, pero no había logrado sacar pollitos, así que me trajeron una pequeña incubadora para que pusiera los huevos, solo coloque seis huevos para probar.
The 21 days that followed were the longest, hahaha. I checked the incubator every day, and yesterday, when I woke up, my husband said, "Run, there's a broken egg!" When we arrived, the first chick had already hatched, and within three hours, the second one was peeking out too.
Los 21 días que siguieron fueron los más largos, jajaja. Revisaba la incubadora todos los días, y ayer, al levantarme, mi esposo me dijo: "¡Corre, hay un huevo roto!" Cuando llegamos, el primer pollito ya había salido, y a las tres horas, el segundo también asomaba.
They are very restless and moved from one side to another inside the incubator, which had me worried, until we conditioned a small cage with a box and a light bulb to maintain the temperature.
Son muy inquietos y se movían de un lado a otro dentro de la incubadora, lo que me tenía preocupada, hasta que acondicionamos una jaulita pequeña con una cajita y un bombillo para mantener la temperatura.
It has only been one day and they are already pecking small portions of corn and drinking a lot of water. The other chicks have not hatched yet, only these two have come out early, from what I have been told they can be up to 25 days in the incubator, so I have to wait for the others to come out.
Solo ha pasado un día y ya están picoteando pequeñas porciones de maíz y bebiendo mucha agua. Los otros pollitos aún no han salido del cascarón, solo estos dos se han adelantado, por lo que me han dicho pueden estar hasta 25 días en la incubadora, así que tengo que esperar, que salgan los otros.
We haven't named them yet, but we already know that, even if we don't name them, we won't be able to eat them. If we couldn't do it with their parents, with whom we lived the process of their birth, much less, so they are destined to be pets.
My chickens are hens with layers, and the female is very productive, so I hope her offspring will give us eggs, those eggs I will eat!

Aún no les hemos puesto nombre, pero ya sabemos que, aunque no se los pongamos, no podremos comérnoslos. Si no pudimos hacerlo con sus padres, con quienes vivimos el proceso de su nacimiento, mucho menos, así que están destinados a ser mascotas.
Mis pollos son gallipavo con ponedora, y la hembra es muy productiva, así que espero que sus hijos nos den huevos, ¡ esos huevos sí que me los comeré!
