[ENG/ESP] My day spent between hotels, stores, and responsibilities
This past Friday was a workday for me where everything went exceptionally well, and before I tell you about my day, I want to wish you all a wonderful weekend, filled with peace, rest, and those little moments that always lift the spirit. It was a day that, although it began with the usual routine, ended by leaving me with a very pleasant sense of satisfaction—the kind you feel when everything goes smoothly and every task is completed without a hitch.
The morning began with the usual warmth that characterizes the climate of this beautiful island. That radiant sun, which, although sometimes exhausting, also illuminates the landscapes in a special way. The streets, the trees, and even the buildings seem more alive under that intense light. That’s why, as always, I captured a few moments during my walk so I can show you later those little bits of beauty that Margarita gives us every day.
Este viernes que culminó fue para mí un día de trabajo donde todo fluyó de manera excelente, y antes de contarles mi recorrido quiero desearles un fin de semana excelente, lleno de calma, descanso y esos pequeños momentos que siempre alegran el alma. Fue un día que, aunque comenzó con la rutina de siempre, terminó dejándome una sensación de satisfacción muy bonita, de esas que se sienten cuando todo sale bien y cada tarea se cumple sin contratiempos.
La mañana inició con el acostumbrado calor que caracteriza el clima de esta hermosa Isla. Ese sol radiante que, aunque a veces agota, también ilumina los paisajes de una manera especial. Las calles, los árboles y hasta los edificios parecen más vivos bajo esa luz intensa. Por eso, como siempre, en mi recorrido capturé algunos instantes para poder mostrarles más adelante esos pedacitos de belleza que nos regala Margarita cada día.
We arrived at the Unik Hotel to perform our routine tank disinfection and chlorination. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed, as usual, with the kind of cordiality that makes any day more pleasant. We carried out our work with dedication, checking each parameter and ensuring that everything remained at the proper levels. We didn’t leave the hotel until the readings were correct. We like knowing that everything is going well, that the water is in optimal condition, and that we’re fulfilling our duty. That peace of mind is an essential part of our daily routine.
Llegamos al hotel Unik para hacer nuestra rutina de desinfección y cloración del tanque. Al llegar, nos recibieron muy bien, como es costumbre, con esa cordialidad que hace más agradable cualquier jornada. Realizamos nuestro trabajo con dedicación, revisando cada parámetro y asegurándonos de que todo quedara en los niveles adecuados. Hasta que los valores no dieron debidamente, no nos retiramos del hotel. Nos gusta saber que todo marcha bien, que el agua queda en óptimas condiciones y que cumplimos con nuestro deber. Esa tranquilidad es parte esencial de nuestro día a día.
Once our work was done, we went out to explore the city in search of some hoses for our equipment. The ones we have only allow us to activate two of the four suction pumps, and sometimes we need more than two to finish a job on time. So we had to figure that out.
Culminado nuestro trabajo, nos fuimos a recorrer la ciudad en busca de unas mangueras para nuestro equipo. Las que tenemos solo permiten activar dos de las cuatro bombas de succión, y en ocasiones necesitamos más de dos para poder culminar un trabajo a tiempo. Así que tocaba resolver ese detalle.
After visiting several places, we were directed to the Catalano store, where we finally found the hoses just as we’d been told. We strolled leisurely through the aisles, checking out a few deals that caught our eye and that we’ll definitely keep in mind for later.
Después de visitar varios lugares, nos mandaron para la tienda Catalano, donde finalmente encontramos las mangueras tal como nos habían comentado. Recorrimos los pasillos con calma, observando algunas ofertas que nos llamaron la atención y que seguramente tendremos en cuenta más adelante.
Once we had resolved the hose issue, we set out to complete our last task of the day: stopping by the agricultural supply store to buy feed for our birds and shade netting. We want their cages to be more pleasant, so the sun doesn’t beat down on them so much and that doesn’t affect their productivity. We always strive to keep them comfortable and well-cared-for, because they’re part of our home and our daily routine.
Solucionada la problemática de las mangueras, fuimos a cumplir con nuestra última tarea del día; pasar por la agropecuaria para comprar el alimento de nuestras aves y la malla sombra. Queremos que sus jaulas sean más amenas, que el sol no las castigue tanto y que eso no afecte su productividad. Siempre buscamos que estén cómodas y cuidadas, porque forman parte de nuestro hogar y de nuestra rutina diaria.
Happy to have completed all our planned tasks, we headed home. This week we have to work through Saturday, so it’s best to rest a little while we still have some time left. There’s nothing like getting home, taking off your shoes, taking a deep breath, and feeling like you made the most of the day.

Contenta por haber cumplido con todas las tareas planificadas, nos fuimos para la casa. Esta semana tenemos que trabajar hasta el sábado, y es mejor descansar un poco cuando nos queda algo de tiempo. Nada como llegar, quitarse los zapatos, respirar profundo y sentir que el día estuvo bien aprovechado.
