[ENG/ESP] Afternoon trip from El Morro pier to La Caracola.
Happy weekend, everyone.
Today I want to share with you a very special outing my husband and I took, a simple getaway but one filled with beautiful moments that gave us peace, fresh air, and a deep connection with nature.
As many of you know, the streets here in Margarita are quite busy these days. You can feel the typical hustle and bustle of the holiday season: people going from one place to another, buying gifts, decorations, ingredients for Christmas dinners... a real whirlwind of movement and energy. We, however, decided to leave our shopping for another time, when everything is calmer. We preferred to find a more peaceful corner, where the soul could breathe and the body could relax.
The weather has been cool lately, with a very pleasant constant breeze. Despite that, our favorite place is still the sea. There is something about its immensity, its sound, its smell, that comforts us. So without thinking twice, we grabbed our things and headed to one of our favorite spots: Moreno Beach and El Morro pier.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un paseo muy especial que dimos mi esposo y yo, una escapada sencilla pero llena de momentos hermosos que nos regalaron paz, aire fresco y una conexión profunda con la naturaleza.
Como muchos saben, las calles aquí en Margarita están bastante agitadas en estos días. Se siente el bullicio típico de la temporada decembrina: personas yendo de un lado a otro, comprando regalos, adornos, ingredientes para las cenas navideñas… un verdadero torbellino de movimiento y energía. Nosotros, sin embargo, decidimos dejar nuestras compras para otro momento, cuando todo esté más tranquilo. Preferimos buscar un rincón más apacible, donde el alma pudiera respirar y el cuerpo relajarse.
El clima ha estado fresco últimamente, con una brisa constante muy agradable. A pesar de eso, nuestro lugar favorito sigue siendo el mar. Hay algo en su inmensidad, en su sonido, en su olor, que nos reconforta. Así que sin pensarlo mucho, tomamos nuestras cosas y nos dirigimos a uno de nuestros recorridos preferidos: Playa Moreno y el muelle El Morro.
This pier has a special charm for us. It's a place we visit often, especially when we have a day off and want to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. Sometimes we bring our fishing rod and hook, hoping to catch something, even though fishing isn't always successful. The truth is that, beyond the fish, what we always find there is a pleasant afternoon, enjoyable conversations with other fishermen, and the feeling of being in the right place at the right time.
Este muelle tiene un encanto especial para nosotros. Es un sitio que visitamos con frecuencia, sobre todo cuando tenemos un día libre y queremos desconectarnos del ajetreo. A veces llevamos nuestro nylon y anzuelo, con la esperanza de atrapar algo, aunque la pesca no siempre sea fructífera. Lo cierto es que, más allá de los peces, lo que siempre encontramos allí es una tarde agradable, conversaciones amenas con otros pescadores y la sensación de estar en el lugar correcto, en el momento justo.
This time we didn't bring any fishing rods or hooks. We just wanted to sit for a while, breathe in the delicious scent of the sea, which seems to cleanse the lungs and relieve any traces of allergies or stress. The salty air, mixed with the breeze, has an almost therapeutic effect, at least for me. We sat on the edge of the pier, watching the fishermen's boats rocking gently with the waves. I love how their bright colors contrast with the green hills of the island. It's a living postcard that I never tire of seeing.
En esta ocasión no llevamos caña ni anzuelo. Solo queríamos sentarnos un rato, respirar el delicioso aroma a mar, ese que parece limpiar los pulmones y aliviar cualquier rastro de alergia o estrés. El aire salado, mezclado con la brisa, tiene un efecto casi terapéutico al menos para mi. Nos sentamos en el borde del muelle, observando los barcos de los pescadores que se mecían suavemente con las olas. Me encanta cómo contrastan sus colores vivos con los cerros verdes de la isla. Es una postal viva que nunca me cansa verla.
On the other side of the pier, there is a large stone wall. I was struck by the sight of several dogs, probably belonging to the fishermen, perched on top of it, as if they were guardians of the sea. They stood there, still and alert, as if watching over the horizon. It was an image that made me smile, and I captured it with my phone to keep it in my memories.
Del otro lado del muelle, hay un gran muro de piedras. Me llamó mucho la atención ver a varios perros, seguramente de los pescadores, subidos en lo alto, como si fueran guardianes del mar. Estaban allí, quietos, atentos, como si cuidaran el horizonte. Fue una imagen que me hizo sonreír y capturé como mi teléfono para guardarla en mis recuerdos.
After spending a good while enjoying that spot, we decided to continue our walk and headed to Moreno Beach, which many people know as La Caracola. The wind was still blowing strongly, and the sea was quite rough, with waves breaking energetically on the shore. Our son would have loved to see that spectacle, because he is fascinated when the sea is like that, rough and playful. I, for my part, felt a little cold because of the intensity of the wind, but nothing that couldn't be enjoyed with a good walk.
Después de un buen rato disfrutando de ese rincón, decidimos seguir nuestro paseo y nos dirigimos a Playa Moreno que muchos la conocen como La Caracola. El viento seguía soplando con fuerza, y el mar estaba bastante encrespado, con olas que rompían con energía en la orilla. A nuestro hijo le habría encantado ver ese espectáculo, porque le fascina cuando el mar está así, bravo y juguetón. Yo, por mi parte, sentí un poco de frío por la intensidad del viento, pero nada que no se pudiera disfrutar con una buena caminata.
We kept walking until we reached the swings that had been placed in front of the sea. There was a little boy swinging with a huge smile on his face, and we decided not to interrupt his moment. Instead, we sat down nearby, under some palm trees that swayed in the wind. I spent my time watching the leaves swaying, listening to the murmur of the sea, and enjoying the beauty of the landscape. I love enjoying these moments of peace.
Seguimos avanzando hasta llegar a los columpios que han colocado frente al mar. Había un niño pequeño columpiándose con una sonrisa enorme, y decidimos no interrumpir su momento. En lugar de eso, nos sentamos cerca, bajo unas palmeras que se mecían al ritmo del viento. Yo me dediqué a observar el vaivén de las hojas, a escuchar el murmullo del mar mientras disfrutaba de la belleza del paisaje. Amo disfrutar estos momentos de paz.
So, dear friends, we spent our afternoon without rushing, without shopping, without noise. Just us, the sea, the wind, and tranquility. Sometimes, that's all you need to feel calm and fulfilled.

What a peaceful place to visit with, so calming and in there you can find peace of mind and heart. Also the dogs might do sight seeing? hehe perhaps just like a guardian there. Too conducive not to capture their moments. 😍
Honestly, this place is simply beautiful, with a kind of tranquility that’s hard to find.
I truly love these hidden corners of the island that bring me so much peace… and I think the pups enjoy them too, haha!
