The weekend is here, and although I can still feel the weight of these hectic days in my body, I assure you that I’ll rest and make the most of it. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you need a break until it finally arrives, and I’m welcoming this weekend with open arms, intending to recharge my energy and breathe calmly. I also sincerely hope that you all have a restful and rejuvenating weekend, that you find a moment for yourselves—even if it’s just a small one—that allows you to feel at peace.
Yesterday I wasn’t able to post another one of my tours because I finished work very late and exhaustion got the better of me. These days, our services have required more time than usual because the island is full of tourists, and when the influx increases, so does the responsibility. Everything must be spotless and running smoothly, and that means longer hours, more supervision, and greater dedication.
However, today’s workday was a bit lighter, and we managed to finish early, which allowed us to take a short break by the sea—one of those breaks you’re truly grateful for. I wanted to share this beautiful experience with you because, even though it was a workday, it also had its moments of serenity.
Our day began very early, as is often the case when we have to tackle several tasks in a single morning. We had to chlorinate and disinfect two of the tanks at the Wyndham Concorde Hotel, a task that requires precision and concentration. The sun was already strong from the early hours—radiant and hot—but that same weather allowed me to take some beautiful photos that I hope to show you later. The daylight made the island’s colors stand out with a special intensity.
Llegó el fin de semana y, aunque todavía siento en el cuerpo el peso de estos días tan movidos, les aseguro que descansaré y lo aprovecharé al máximo. A veces uno no se da cuenta de cuánto necesita una pausa hasta que finalmente llega, y este fin de semana lo recibo con los brazos abiertos, con la intención de recargar energías y respirar con calma. También deseo de corazón que ustedes tengan un fin de semana descansado y reparador, que encuentren un momento para ustedes, aunque sea pequeño, pero que les permita sentirse en paz.
Ayer no pude publicarles otro de mis recorridos porque terminé muy tarde en el trabajo y el cansancio me venció. Estos días los servicios han requerido más tiempo del habitual porque la isla está llena de turistas, y cuando la afluencia aumenta, también lo hace la responsabilidad. Todo debe estar impecable, funcionando a la perfección, y eso implica más horas, más supervisión y más dedicación.
Sin embargo, hoy la jornada fue más ligera y logramos terminar más temprano, lo que nos permitió darnos una pequeña pausa junto al mar, una de esas pausas que uno agradece profundamente. Quise compartir con ustedes esta hermosa experiencia porque, aunque fue un día de trabajo, también tuvo su toque de serenidad.
Nuestro día comenzó bien temprano, como suele ocurrir cuando tenemos que atender varios puntos en una misma mañana. Tocaba clorar y desinfectar dos de los tanques del hotel Wyndham Concorde, una labor que requiere precisión y concentración. El sol ya estaba fuerte desde las primeras horas, radiante y caluroso, pero ese mismo clima me permitió tomar unas fotografías preciosas que más adelante espero mostrarles. La luz del día hacía que los colores de la isla resaltaran con una intensidad especial.
As we drove through beautiful scenery and enjoyed a pleasant conversation with my husband, we approached the Wyndham, whose slender structure is visible from a distance.

When we arrived, the maintenance staff welcomed us with their usual warmth. This hotel is one of those places where I can't take photos inside when there are a lot of tourists; they even ask us to turn down the volume on our phones and set them to vibrate to avoid disturbing other guests. It's a rule I respect because I understand how important it is for them to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
Al llegar, el personal de mantenimiento nos recibió con la cordialidad de siempre. Este hotel es uno de los lugares donde no puedo tomar fotos en el interior cuando hay muchos turistas; incluso nos piden bajar el volumen del teléfono y ponerlo en vibración para evitar cualquier incomodidad entre los huéspedes. Es una norma que respeto porque entiendo lo importante que es para ellos mantener la tranquilidad del ambiente.
After finishing our work and making sure the readings were excellent, we left. Very close by, just a few meters from the hotel, is the Concorde Marina, and we decided to take a short walk to breathe in the sea air. The truth is, I really cherish moments like these.
Después de realizar nuestro trabajo y comprobar que los valores estuvieran excelentes, nos marchamos. Muy cerca, a pocos metros del hotel, se encuentra la marina Concorde, y decidimos dar un pequeño recorrido para respirar cerca del mar. La verdad es que aprecio muchísimo estos instantes.
Watching the boats, the gentle ripples on the water, and, in the distance, the city reflected in the calm waters of the marina is a sight that soothes the soul. My husband and I stayed there for a while, simply gazing at the sea, letting the breeze clear our minds.
Ver las lanchas, el movimiento suave del agua, y a lo lejos la ciudad reflejada en las tranquilas aguas de la marina es un espectáculo que relaja el alma. Nos quedamos un rato allí, mi esposo y yo, simplemente mirando el mar, dejando que la brisa nos despejara la mente.
Finally, we decided to head home, happy to have completed our work and satisfied to have enjoyed a moment of calm amid our daily routine. I wanted to share this day with you because, even though it was a workday, it was also full of beauty and tranquility. I’ll see you again on another one of my trips, where there will always be something new to share.
