[ENG/ESP] A workday on Friday filled with small achievements
Happy day. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, filled with peace, little moments of happiness, and that feeling of relaxation that’s so welcome after a busy week. Today I’ll be taking a little break from work, spending time with my family, bonding with my husband, and enjoying some activities together. After lunch, our son will head out to an activity, and that will also give us some time just the two of us—to talk, laugh, and simply enjoy each other’s company, which always does us good.
Earlier, I mentioned that I wanted to tell you about my Friday, which also marked the end of my workweek. It was a day that started quite early, as days often do when technical fieldwork is on the agenda. We had scheduled a visit to the municipality of Pedro Gómez to once again carry out the chlorination and disinfection of Tank Number Two—the “Australian” tank—which is part of the maintenance routine we carry out consistently and responsibly.
We took the Portachuelo road, which is less traveled and always allows us to arrive more peacefully. That route, though simple, has its charm: the silence of the road, the greenery peeking through the trees, and that feeling of moving toward a clear goal.
Feliz día. Les deseo un lindo fin de semana, lleno de calma, de pequeños momentos felices y de esa sensación de descanso que tanto se agradece después de una semana movida. Hoy estaré desconectando un poco del trabajo, regalándome tiempo en familia, compartiendo con mi esposo y disfrutando de algunas actividades juntos. Nuestro hijo, después del almuerzo, saldrá a una actividad y eso también nos dará un rato para estar él y yo, conversar, reír y simplemente disfrutar la compañía mutua, que siempre hace bien.
Antes les comenté que quería contarles cómo fue mi viernes, que además marcó el cierre de mi semana laboral. Fue un día que comenzó bastante temprano, como suelen empezar los días cuando toca trabajo técnico en campo. Teníamos programada una visita al municipio Pedro Gómez para realizar nuevamente la cloración y desinfección del tanque número dos, el australiano, que forma parte de la rutina de mantenimiento que llevamos con constancia y responsabilidad.
Tomamos el camino de Portachuelo, que es menos transitado y siempre nos permite llegar con más tranquilidad. Ese trayecto, aunque sencillo, tiene su encanto; el silencio de la vía, el verde que se asoma entre los árboles, y esa sensación de estar avanzando hacia un objetivo claro.
When we arrived at the hotel, the quality control department was already waiting for us to go up to the tank and start the day. I like it when everything flows like this, when everyone knows their role and the work comes together harmoniously.
We carried out the chlorination and disinfection routine with our usual care. We measured the parameters, checked every detail, and, to our satisfaction, everything turned out excellent. It’s a huge relief when the readings are where they should be, because it means the system is working well and that our constant effort is truly paying off.
Al llegar al hotel, el departamento de calidad ya nos estaba esperando para subir al tanque y comenzar la jornada. Me gusta cuando todo fluye así, cuando cada quien sabe su rol y el trabajo se vuelve armonioso.
Realizamos la rutina de cloración y desinfección con el cuidado de siempre. Medimos los parámetros, revisamos cada detalle y, para nuestra satisfacción, todo salió excelente. Es una tranquilidad enorme cuando los valores están donde deben estar, porque significa que el sistema está funcionando bien y que el esfuerzo constante realmente da frutos.
When we were done, we left the hotel, but not before taking a few photos of the scenery. That place has a unique beauty—a blend of serenity and vastness that always makes you want to capture it.
Al terminar, nos retiramos del hotel, pero no sin antes tomar algunas fotos del paisaje. Ese lugar tiene una belleza particular, una mezcla de serenidad y amplitud que siempre invita a capturarla.
With our work done, we headed to the La Vela shopping center. We had a very specific mission: to find the brown belt our son needed. It seems like a simple task, but you know how it is when you want to find exactly what you need. The scenery along the way was beautiful, and as we explored different areas, we had only one thought in mind: to find the perfect belt.
Con el trabajo cumplido, nos dirigimos al centro comercial La Vela. Teníamos una misión muy específica: encontrar la correa marrón que nuestro hijo necesitaba. Parece una tarea sencilla, pero ya saben cómo es cuando uno quiere conseguir exactamente lo que hace falta. Los paisajes del camino eran hermosos, y mientras recorríamos distintos rincones, solo teníamos un pensamiento en mente; encontrar la correa perfecta.
We walked around the mall quite a bit, visited several stores, and looked at different options, colors, and sizes. Until we finally found it. I felt a great sense of peace, because I know our son will be so happy. Sometimes those little things—the ones that seem insignificant—are the ones that make a child’s day the happiest, and to me, that’s always worth it.
En el centro comercial caminamos bastante, visitamos varias tiendas, revisamos opciones, colores, tamaños. Hasta que finalmente la encontramos. Sentí una gran tranquilidad, porque sé que nuestro hijo se pondrá muy contento. A veces esos detalles, que parecen pequeños, son los que más alegran el día de un hijo, y eso para mí siempre vale la pena.
With that task completed, we headed home with the satisfaction of a job well done, both at work and with our families. It was a long but lovely Friday, full of purpose and those moments you appreciate when you stop to reflect on them.
