[ENG/ESP] A weekend to reconnect with what really matters
Happy start to the week, dear friends. I sincerely hope that the days ahead will be productive, carefree, and filled with good times. For me, this week looks like it’s going to be quite busy; I have a lot of work lined up, and, as always, there’s no shortage of unexpected events, so I prefer to start it off with the best possible attitude and my energy fully recharged.
I got that energy thanks to a very relaxing weekend at home, spending time with my pets, my birds, and my family, who are the driving force behind my daily life. At home, we function like a well-oiled machine; each of us contributes something, each of us supports the other, and together we make life flow harmoniously. This Sunday, in particular, was one of those days that just feels so good. We rested a lot, watched movies, chatted without rushing, and enjoyed the tranquility of home.
Later in the afternoon, when the sun began to dip a little lower, we decided to go out and relax by the sea. The days are still very hot and stifling, so we preferred to wait until the breeze became more pleasant. The afternoon always has that special charm; it’s cooler, gentler, and allows you to appreciate the urban and natural landscapes in a light that beautifies everything.
Feliz inicio de semana, queridos amigos. Deseo de corazón que estos días que comienzan sean productivos, ligeros y llenos de buenos momentos. Para mí, esta semana promete bastante; tengo mucho trabajo programado y, como siempre, los imprevistos nunca faltan, así que prefiero recibirla con la mejor actitud posible y todas mis energías recargadas.
Esa energía la conseguí gracias a un fin de semana muy relajado en casa, compartiendo con mis mascotas, mis aves y mi familia, que es el eje impulsor de mi día a día. En casa funcionamos como un verdadero engranaje; cada uno aporta algo, cada uno sostiene al otro, y juntos logramos que la vida fluya con armonía. Este domingo, en particular, fue de esos días que se sienten muy bien. Descansamos bastante, vimos películas, conversamos sin apuros y disfrutamos de la tranquilidad del hogar.
Ya en la tarde, cuando el sol comenzó a bajar un poco, decidimos salir a relajar la vista frente al mar. Los días siguen estando muy calientes y sofocantes, así que preferimos esperar a que la brisa se hiciera más amable. La tarde siempre tiene ese encanto especial; es más fresca, más suave, y permite apreciar los paisajes urbanos y naturales con una luz que embellece todo.
Our destination was Playa El Agua, one of the most beloved beaches among both tourists and locals. As soon as you step onto the beach, you’re greeted by that distinctive salty scent—a greeting from the sea that seems to say, “Welcome.” It’s a smell that brings back memories, relaxes you, and invites you to take a leisurely stroll.
Nuestro destino fue Playa El Agua, una de las playas más queridas tanto por turistas como por los locales. Apenas entras, te recibe ese aroma salado tan característico, ese saludo del mar que parece decir “bienvenidos”. Es un olor que despierta recuerdos, que relaja y que invita a caminar sin prisa.
One thing I always enjoy about Playa El Agua is the entrepreneurs’ shops. They’re very well-stocked and offer everything from beach accessories to little souvenirs you just can’t resist buying. If you’re visiting with young children, it’s wonderful—balls, toys, floats, sand molds… whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it there. I love seeing them so well-stocked, so full of life and color.
Algo que siempre disfruto de Playa El Agua son los locales de los emprendedores. Están muy bien surtidos y ofrecen desde accesorios para la playa hasta recuerditos que uno no puede evitar llevarse. Si vas con niños pequeños, es una maravilla; pelotas, juguetes, flotadores, cubitos para la arena… lo que busques, ahí lo encuentras. Me emociona verlos tan completos, tan llenos de vida y de color.
During our walk, we noticed that the sea was quite calm that day, with hardly any waves, and yet there were still many people enjoying the water and the sand. The views were beautiful: the blue sea, the palm trees swaying gently in the breeze, the white sand… it all came together to create the perfect setting to unwind.
Durante nuestro recorrido pudimos apreciar que el mar estaba bastante tranquilo ese día, con poco oleaje, y aun así había muchas personas disfrutando del agua y de la arena. Las vistas eran hermosas; el azul del mar, las palmeras moviéndose suavemente con el viento, la arena clara… todo componía una escena perfecta para desconectar.
We walked the entire length of Playa El Agua, enjoying every stretch of the way. One of the things I love most about this beach is the contrast it offers: on one side, the imposing mountains that seem to watch over everything; on the other, the sea stretching as far as the eye can see, lined with palm trees that give it that charming tropical touch. That contrast, especially at the far end of the beach, is simply magical.
Caminamos Playa El Agua de principio a fin, disfrutando cada tramo. Una de las cosas que más me gusta de esta playa es el contraste que ofrece; de un lado, las montañas imponentes que parecen vigilarlo todo; del otro, el mar extendiéndose hasta donde alcanza la vista, acompañado por las palmeras que le dan ese toque tropical tan encantador. Ese contraste, especialmente al final de la playa, es simplemente mágico.
This little walk completely refreshed my mind. Sometimes you don’t need a grand plan to feel rejuvenated; all it takes is gazing at the sea, taking a deep breath, and letting nature do its thing.
