[ENG/ESP] A start to the week filled with routine, serenity, and waves
This Tuesday I have to travel a bit farther—all the way to the municipality of Gómez—to do our work. Whenever we have to make a trip like this, I hope the day will be calm, productive, and free of setbacks. I sincerely hope your day is great too, full of positive energy and pleasant moments. This time, I want to tell you how my week began—which, by the way, was truly relaxed and had that touch of serenity that you sometimes need to get off to a good start.
We left home earlier than usual because Mondays at the hotel chain are typically meeting days, which complicates our services a bit. That’s why we prefer to get a head start and avoid any delays. It was a beautiful day, with a clear sky that put us in the mood to work, but it was also super hot—one of those days when you feel like you urgently need to find an air-conditioned space so you don’t melt.
Este martes tengo que ir un poco lejos, hasta el municipio Gómez, para hacer nuestro trabajo. Siempre que toca desplazarnos así, espero que el día sea tranquilo, productivo y sin contratiempos. De corazón deseo que su día también sea genial, lleno de buenas energías y momentos agradables. En esta oportunidad quiero contarles cómo comenzó mi semana, que por cierto fue verdaderamente relajada y con ese toque de serenidad que a veces uno necesita para arrancar con buen ánimo.
Salimos de casa más temprano de lo acostumbrado, porque los lunes, en la cadena hotelera, suelen ser días de reunión y eso complica un poco los servicios. Por eso preferimos adelantarnos y evitar cualquier retraso. El día estaba hermoso, con un cielo despejado que invitaba a trabajar con ánimo, pero también estaba súper caluroso, de esos días en los que uno siente que necesita buscar un área climatizada con urgencia para no derretirse.
The job that day was pretty straightforward; we had to perform our routine chlorination and disinfection of the main pool at the Sunsol Unik Hotel. We got there without any problems along the way, but since it was Monday, we had to wait a little while for the maintenance manager before we could get started. Sometimes those waits feel long, but they’re part of the rhythm of the job, and you get used to them.
El trabajo de ese día era bastante sencillo; debíamos hacer nuestra rutina de cloración y desinfección del tanque principal del hotel Sunsol Unik. Llegamos muy bien, sin contratiempos en la vía, pero por ser lunes tuvimos que esperar un poco al gerente de mantenimiento para poder comenzar. A veces esas esperas se sienten largas, pero forman parte del ritmo de trabajo y uno ya está acostumbrado.
When we were finally able to get started, everything went smoothly. We finished the routine, verified that the parameters were within the acceptable ranges, and, satisfied with the results, headed home for lunch. There’s nothing like coming home after a job well done, sitting down to eat, and feeling like the day is really coming together.
Cuando finalmente pudimos iniciar, todo fluyó con normalidad. Concluimos la rutina, verificamos que los parámetros estuvieran dentro de los rangos permisibles y, satisfechos con el resultado, nos dirigimos rumbo a casa para almorzar. Nada como llegar a casa después de un trabajo bien hecho, sentarse a comer y sentir que el día va tomando forma.
In the afternoon, we decided to take a break and clear our minds and bodies at Playa El Agua, one of the beaches closest to home and also one of our favorites. When we arrived, the ocean was there, as always, inviting us to sit down and enjoy its finest show: gentle waves, palm trees swaying in the wind, and that sound that only the ocean can provide. We spent hours gazing at the horizon, listening to the ebb and flow of the waves as they rolled onto the sand, feeling our stress gradually melt away.
En la tarde decidimos darnos un respiro y despejar la mente y el cuerpo en Playa El Agua, una de las playas más cercanas a casa y también una de nuestras favoritas. Al llegar, el mar estaba ahí, como siempre, invitándonos a sentarnos y disfrutar de su mejor espectáculo; olas suaves, palmeras moviéndose con el viento y ese sonido que solo el mar sabe regalar. Pasamos horas mirando el horizonte, escuchando el vaivén de las olas llegando a la arena, sintiendo cómo el estrés se iba disolviendo poco a poco.
I have to admit that I love being by the sea, and my husband shares that love just as much as I do. When we’re near the sea, our minds clear so completely that sometimes we feel as if we’re alone on the beach, as if the world had paused for a moment to give us that moment of peace. It’s a very pleasant, almost magical feeling that we experience whenever we can escape to the shore.
Les confieso que amo estar junto al mar, y mi esposo comparte ese amor igual que yo. Cuando estamos cerca del mar, la mente se despeja de tal manera que a veces creemos que estamos solos en la playa, como si el mundo se detuviera un momento para darnos ese espacio de paz. Es una sensación muy agradable, casi mágica, que nos acompaña siempre que podemos escaparnos a la orilla.
And that’s how we ended the day: calm, relaxed, and grateful. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to feel good—just a little bit of the ocean, a great life partner, and the certainty that every day brings its own gift.
