[ENG/ESP] A productive, peaceful day filled with art on Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi Avenue
Greetings, friends. I sincerely hope you’re enjoying your well-deserved break. As always, I wish you all the best and hope every day is filled with well-being, peace of mind, and happy moments. Today I’d like to share a bit about my day yesterday, which, although it was a workday, ended up being a very pleasant experience—especially thanks to a short tour I took of the traffic museum located on Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi Avenue.
My day started quite early. I headed to the Sunsol Ecoland Hotel, where we’re working to get their tanks in top condition before the tourists arrive for Holy Week. It’s a job that requires dedication, responsibility, and perseverance, but we do it gladly because we know that every detail counts when it comes to providing good service. The weather was perfect: bright sunshine accompanied by a cool breeze, creating the ideal atmosphere for working—and, why not, for enjoying the journey.
Saludos, amigos. Espero de corazón que estén disfrutando de su merecido descanso. Como siempre, les deseo lo mejor y que cada día esté lleno de bienestar, tranquilidad y buenos momentos. Hoy quiero compartirles un poco de mi jornada de ayer, que aunque fue un día de trabajo, terminó siendo una experiencia muy agradable, especialmente por un pequeño recorrido que hice por el museo vial ubicado en la avenida Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi.
Mi día comenzó bastante temprano. Salí rumbo al hotel Sunsol Ecoland, donde estamos trabajando para dejar sus tanques en óptimas condiciones antes de la llegada de los turistas en Semana Santa. Es un trabajo que requiere dedicación, responsabilidad y constancia, pero lo hacemos con gusto porque sabemos que cada detalle cuenta para ofrecer un buen servicio. El clima estaba perfecto: un sol radiante acompañado de una brisa fresca que hacía el ambiente ideal para trabajar y, por qué no, para disfrutar del camino.
When we arrived at the hotel, we went through our usual routine—the one we know by heart and carry out with our characteristic diligence. Once we had everything in order, we headed into town to get several quotes for activated carbon for the filters the hotel had requested. The trip was a bit long, but the weather remained so pleasant that we even took the opportunity to snap a few photos, which I’ll show you later.
Al llegar al hotel realizamos nuestra rutina habitual, esa que ya conocemos de memoria y que hacemos con la seriedad que nos caracteriza. Una vez que dejamos todo en orden, nos tocó continuar hacia la ciudad, pues debíamos buscar varios presupuestos de carbón activado para los filtros que el hotel nos solicitó. El trayecto era un poco largo, pero el clima seguía tan agradable que incluso aprovechamos para tomar algunas fotografías que más adelante les mostraré.
After visiting various places around the city, we finally managed to get the quotes we needed. By the afternoon, feeling a bit tired from the heat and the day’s activities, we decided to head home, satisfied that we had completed our tasks.
Después de recorrer distintos puntos de la ciudad, finalmente logramos obtener los presupuestos que necesitábamos. Ya en la tarde, un poco cansados por el calor y el movimiento del día, decidimos regresar a casa satisfechos por haber cumplido con nuestras tareas.
It was on that return trip that I had a moment of calm that allowed me to take a closer look at something I often see but rarely truly pay attention to: the exhibits at the traffic museum on Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi Avenue. I drive down this avenue almost every day, but yesterday, with the serenity of a job well done, I was able to pause mentally and appreciate those pieces that are part of the urban landscape.
This street art museum was inaugurated in 2007 by Governor Morel Rodríguez. According to José, a friend of my father’s, the governor’s intention was to highlight and promote art, showcase both national and international talent, and turn the avenue into a space where art would accompany those passing through. And the truth is, he succeeded. Along the avenue, there are about 18 works distributed at various points, each with its own style, its own message, and its own story.
Fue en ese regreso cuando tuve un momento de calma que me permitió observar con más detenimiento algo que suelo ver con frecuencia, pero que pocas veces contemplo con verdadera atención: las obras del museo vial de la avenida Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi. Esta avenida la recorro casi a diario, pero ayer, con la serenidad del deber cumplido, pude detenerme mentalmente y apreciar esas piezas que forman parte del paisaje urbano.
Este museo vial fue inaugurado en el año 2007 por el gobernador Morel Rodríguez. Según me contó José, un amigo de mi padre, la intención del gobernador era resaltar y fomentar el arte, dar a conocer talentos tanto nacionales como internacionales y convertir la avenida en un espacio donde el arte acompañara a quienes transitan por allí. Y la verdad es que lo logró. A lo largo de la avenida hay alrededor de 18 obras distribuidas en distintos puntos, cada una con su propio estilo, su propio mensaje y su propia historia.
I thought it was a wonderful idea. When you stroll down the avenue at a leisurely pace, free from worries, those artworks catch your eye and spark your curiosity. There’s always someone asking who created them, what they represent, or where they come from. They’re little windows into the world of art amid the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Me pareció una idea maravillosa. Cuando uno recorre la avenida sin prisa, sin preocupaciones, esas obras llaman la atención y despiertan curiosidad. Siempre hay alguien que pregunta quién las hizo, qué representan o de dónde vienen. Son pequeñas ventanas al mundo del arte en medio del movimiento diario.
As we walked down the avenue, enjoying the artistic talent all around us, we made our way home, ready to finally rest after a long but productive day. It was the perfect ending: a job well done, ideal weather, art along the way, and the satisfaction of returning home.
