Sunday arrived, and with it the opportunity to enjoy my well-deserved rest, a break that feels even more valuable after working the day before. Although it was only half a day, the experience was quite productive and enriching. On Saturday, I was assigned a task that, although routine, always teaches me something new: checking the water at the Wyndham Concorde Hotel. This five-star hotel is renowned for its elegance and constant dedication to the comfort and well-being of its guests. Every detail is designed to make visitors feel safe, cared for, and surrounded by quality.
Llegó el domingo y con él la oportunidad de disfrutar de mi merecido descanso, un respiro que se siente aún más valioso después de haber trabajado el día anterior. Aunque fue solo media jornada, la experiencia resultó bastante productiva y enriquecedora. El sábado me correspondió realizar una tarea que, aunque rutinaria, siempre me deja aprendizajes, chequear las aguas del Hotel Wyndham Concorde. Este hotel, de cinco estrellas, es reconocido por su elegancia y por la dedicación constante a la comodidad y bienestar de sus huéspedes. Cada detalle está pensado para que quienes lo visitan se sientan en un espacio seguro, cuidado y lleno de calidad.
One of the strictest rules at the site is that suppliers are not allowed to bring cell phones inside. Therefore, we left our devices in the “tankeeper” before starting work. With discipline and concentration, we measured and chlorinated the water, ensuring that the levels reached the appropriate values. Once the parameters were confirmed, we left with the peace of mind of having completed the task.
The weather was perfect. The clear sky and gentle breeze created an ideal atmosphere for stopping to observe and, of course, to take photographs. I couldn't resist taking several pictures of the hotel from different angles. I loved looking at it from afar, its majestic silhouette projected over El Morro lagoon, a reflection painted by nature itself. That combination of architecture and landscape fills me with satisfaction for living on an island surrounded by such beauty.
Una de las normas más estrictas del lugar es que los proveedores no pueden ingresar con teléfonos celulares. Por ello, dejamos nuestros equipos en el “tankeeper” antes de iniciar la labor. Con disciplina y concentración realizamos la medición y cloración de las aguas, asegurándonos de que los niveles alcanzaran los valores adecuados. Una vez confirmados los parámetros, nos retiramos con la tranquilidad de haber cumplido con la tarea.
El clima acompañaba de manera perfecta. El cielo despejado y la brisa suave creaban un ambiente ideal para detenerse a observar y, por supuesto, para capturar fotografías. No pude resistirme a tomar varias imágenes del hotel desde distintos ángulos. Me encantó contemplarlo a lo lejos, proyectando su silueta majestuosa sobre la laguna El Morro, es un reflejo pintado por la naturaleza misma. Esa combinación de arquitectura y paisaje me llenan de satisfacción por vivir en una Isla rodeados de tanta belleza.
Since we weren't in a hurry, I took the opportunity to continue exploring with my lens. Amidst the calm, a bird suddenly appeared and, as if understanding my intention, flew in front of my lens, giving me a spontaneous and unique photograph. Nature always surprises me, and that ability to offer unrepeatable moments is one of the reasons why I love it so much. Every detail, every movement, every reflection of light is a reminder that life is full of little details.
Como no teníamos prisa, aproveché para seguir explorando con mi lente. En medio de la calma, un ave apareció de repente y, como si entendiera mi intención, paso frente a mi lente regalándome una fotografía espontánea y única. La naturaleza siempre me sorprende, y esa capacidad de ofrecer instantes irrepetibles es una de las razones por las que la amo tanto. Cada detalle, cada movimiento, cada reflejo de luz es un recordatorio de que la vida está llena de pequeños detalles.
After completing the first task, we moved on to the second mission of the day: finding food for some chicks that had just hatched. We had been told that we would find good quality food in the city, and indeed we did. After visiting a few places, we managed to purchase the right food, which filled us with satisfaction. There is nothing more rewarding than accomplishing what you set out to do and knowing that those little animals would have what they needed to grow up healthy and strong.
Después de concluir la primera tarea, nos dirigimos a la segunda misión del día; conseguir alimento para unos pollitos que recién habían salido del cascarón. Nos habían comentado que en la ciudad encontraríamos un producto de buena calidad, y efectivamente así fue. Tras recorrer algunos lugares, logramos adquirir el alimento adecuado, lo que nos llenó de satisfacción. No hay nada más gratificante que cumplir con lo que uno se propone y saber que esos pequeños animales tendrían lo necesario para crecer sanos y fuertes.
With the food in our hands and a sense of accomplishment, we set off on our return journey home. The trip became a moment of enjoyment, light conversation, and peaceful thoughts. We commented on how well everything had gone and how nice it was to end the day with the certainty that the work was done and that rest awaited us. That mixture of physical exhaustion and emotional tranquility is, in fact, one of life's simplest and most valuable pleasures.
Con el alimento en nuestras manos y la sensación de deber cumplido, emprendimos el regreso a casa. El trayecto se convirtió en un momento de disfrute, de conversación ligera y pensamientos serenos. Íbamos comentando lo bien que había salido todo y lo agradable que resultaba cerrar la jornada con la certeza de que el trabajo estaba hecho y que el descanso nos esperaba. Esa mezcla de cansancio físico y tranquilidad emocional es, en realidad, uno de los placeres más simples y valiosos de la vida.
Our day was filled with moments worth remembering. The hotel, the lagoon, the photographs, the bird that crossed my path, the chicks waiting to be fed... it was all part of a simple but meaningful day. And so, with a grateful heart, I set out to enjoy my long-awaited rest.

Nuestro día estuvo lleno de momentos que merecían ser recordados.
