Hello, I hope you have a beautiful and productive day, filled with those little things that brighten your day right from the start. Today I want to share an experience that filled me with joy from the moment I opened my eyes, because it’s not every day that you come across such a lovely and long-awaited surprise.
When I went out in the morning to check on my plants, as I usually do, I found the first bloom on the orchid that my son and husband had given me some time ago. Ever since they brought it home, I’ve cared for it with love, patiently waiting for that magical moment when it would decide to bloom. And finally, it arrived. When I saw it, I felt a mix of joy, tenderness, and surprise, because even though they had told me it was a yellow orchid, it turned out to be purple—my favorite color in all its shades. I won’t deny that I was incredibly moved. It was like receiving a double gift: the flower itself and the fact that, without knowing it, it ended up being my favorite color. It still has two buds yet to open, so the excitement continues to grow.
Hola, les deseo un día hermoso y productivo, lleno de esos pequeños detalles que alegran el alma desde temprano. Hoy quiero compartirles una experiencia que me llenó de emoción desde el primer momento en que abrí los ojos, porque no todos los días una se encuentra con una sorpresa tan bonita y tan esperada.
Al salir en la mañana a ver mis plantas, como suelo hacer, me encontré con la primera floración de la orquídea que me habían regalado mi hijo y mi esposo hace ya algún tiempo. Desde que la trajeron a casa la he cuidado con cariño, esperando pacientemente ese instante mágico en el que decidiera florecer. Y por fin llegó. Al verla, sentí una mezcla de alegría, ternura y sorpresa, porque aunque ellos me habían dicho que era una orquídea amarilla, resultó ser morada, justo mi color favorito en todas sus tonalidades. No les niego que me emocioné muchísimo. Fue como recibir un regalo doble; la flor en sí y el detalle de que, sin saberlo, terminó siendo del color que más me gusta. Aún tiene dos capullos por abrir, así que la ilusión continúa creciendo.
With that joy in my heart, my husband and I set off for the Sunsol Ecoland Hotel, where we were scheduled to perform our routine work of chlorinating and disinfecting the main tank. We took the Portachuelo road, and perhaps because of the excitement I was feeling, the natural landscape seemed even more beautiful than usual. The hills, the vegetation, and the crisp, fresh air seemed to lift my spirits. As we passed the Portachuelo de Tacarigua scenic overlook, I couldn’t help but ask my husband to stop for a moment. From there, you can see much of the municipality of Gómez, and it has always been a special spot for me, but today it felt more alive, more luminous, as if nature were celebrating with me too.
Con esa alegría en el corazón, mi esposo y yo salimos rumbo al hotel Sunsol Ecoland, donde nos tocaba realizar nuestra rutina de trabajo de cloración y desinfección del tanque principal. Tomamos la vía de Portachuelo, y quizás por la emoción que llevaba encima, sentí que el paisaje natural estaba aún más hermoso de lo habitual. Los cerros, la vegetación y el aire muy fresco parecían acompañar mi ánimo. Al pasar por el mirador turístico de Portachuelo de Tacarigua, no pude evitar pedirle a mi esposo que nos detuviéramos un momento. Desde allí se observa gran parte del municipio Gómez, y siempre ha sido un punto especial para mí, pero hoy lo sentí más vivo, más luminoso, como si la naturaleza también estuviera celebrando conmigo.
After that brief encounter with the landscape, we continued on our way to the hotel. We had plenty of time, so we were able to leisurely enjoy the urban scenery blending with nature, creating that harmony so characteristic of the island.
Después de ese pequeño encuentro con el paisaje, continuamos nuestro camino hacia el hotel. Íbamos con tiempo suficiente, así que pudimos disfrutar con calma de los paisajes urbanos que se mezclan con la naturaleza, creando esa armonía tan característica de la Isla.
When we arrived, we climbed up to the main tank to do our work. Everything went smoothly, without a hitch, which is always a relief and a source of professional satisfaction.
Al llegar, subimos al tanque principal para realizar nuestro trabajo. Todo salió de manera satisfactoria, sin contratiempos, lo cual siempre es un alivio y una satisfacción profesional.
When we were done, the three of us left together: Luis on his motorcycle and the rest of us in the car. Before heading home, we decided to make a quick stop at a place called Comercial Sofía to grab a refreshing drink and a snack. It was a brief but pleasant break—the kind that helps round out the day nicely.
Al terminar, nos retiramos los tres juntos: Luis en su moto y nosotros en el auto. Antes de seguir hacia casa, decidimos hacer una pequeña parada en un local llamado Comercial Sofía para comprar una bebida refrescante y algo para picar. Fue un descanso breve pero agradable, de esos que ayudan a cerrar bien la jornada.
Finally, we set off on the journey home with the satisfaction of a job well done and the joy of having started the day with a surprise as beautiful as my orchid blooming. Sometimes, it’s those little moments that brighten everything else.
