[ENG/ESP] A Friday of hard work and beautiful nature at Ecoland
Happy weekend, dear friends of this wonderful #DailyBlog community. Here I am, another day with you, sharing a little bit of my routine and those experiences that, although everyday occurrences, always leave a mark on my memory. I like to share my experiences with you because every day is like opening a window into my world, where work, nature, and moments of calm intertwine to shape the day, which, although tiring, ends up being rewarding.
In a previous post, I mentioned that this weekend would be a little longer than usual, as I would have to work until today, Saturday, due to a situation at one of the chain's hotels. And so it was; the Friday that just ended was full of effort and dedication. We got started very early, leaving home with the weather seemingly wanting to give us its best. The sky was clear, and every corner we passed seemed to shine with a special light. I couldn't resist and took some pictures to capture that beauty, because I always think that sharing images is another way to convey the magic of what we experience.

Aquí estoy, un día más con ustedes, compartiendo un pedacito de mi rutina y de esas experiencias que, aunque cotidianas, siempre dejan huellas en la memoria. Me gusta compartirles mis vivencias porque cada día es como abrirles una ventana hacia mi mundo, donde trabajo, naturaleza y momentos de calma se entrelazan para dar forma al día, que aunque cansados, terminan siendo gratificantes.
En una publicación anterior les comenté que este fin de semana sería un poco más largo de lo habitual, pues tendría que trabajar hasta hoy sábado debido a una situación en uno de los hoteles de la cadena. Y así fue; el viernes que recién culminó estuvo lleno de esfuerzo y dedicación. Desde muy temprano nos pusimos en marcha, salimos de casa con un clima que parecía querer regalarnos su mejor versión. El cielo estaba despejado, cada rincón por donde pasábamos parecía brillar con una luz especial. No pude resistirme y tomé algunas fotografías para capturar esa belleza, porque siempre pienso que compartir imágenes es otra manera de transmitir la magia de lo vivido.
Upon arriving at the hotel, we headed straight to the desalination plant. Hard work awaited us there: servicing the membranes. The task was intense, so much so that we barely had a chance to stop and catch our breath. Our concentration was absolute, our motivation kept us going, and our desire for everything to turn out well drove us to continue without rest. There was no time for photos at that moment, because every second was devoted to ensuring that the process was carried out correctly.
Al llegar al hotel, nos dirigimos directamente a la planta desalinizadora. Allí nos esperaba un trabajo arduo; intervenir las membranas. La tarea fue intensa, tanto que apenas tuvimos oportunidad de detenernos a respirar. La concentración era absoluta, la motivación nos mantenía firmes y el deseo de que todo saliera bien nos impulsaba a seguir sin descanso. No hubo espacio para fotos en ese momento, porque cada segundo estaba dedicado a asegurar que el proceso se cumpliera correctamente.
Finally, after hours of effort, we carried out the necessary tests to check the functioning of the first membrane. It was a relief to see that everything was working as it should. With our hearts at ease, we decided to treat our bodies and spirits to a moment of relaxation. We headed to the lagoon inside the hotel, a place that always amazes me with its serenity. There, time seemed to stand still; birds rested at the water's edge, fish jumped for oxygen, and white herons stood motionless, as if posing for an invisible photograph. It was a magical moment, a respite that allowed us to release our accumulated tensions.
Finalmente, después de horas de esfuerzo, realizamos las pruebas necesarias para comprobar el funcionamiento de la primera membrana. Fue un alivio ver que todo marchaba como debía. Con el corazón más tranquilo, decidimos regalarle al cuerpo y al espíritu un instante de relajación. Nos dirigimos a la laguna que se encuentra dentro del hotel, un lugar que siempre me sorprende por su serenidad. Allí, el tiempo pareció detenerse; las aves descansaban al borde del agua, los peces saltaban buscando oxígeno y las garzas blancas permanecían inmóviles, como si posaran para una fotografía invisible. Fue un momento mágico, un respiro que nos permitió soltar las tensiones acumuladas.
The mangroves surrounding much of the lagoon are a refuge for various species of birds, and walking near them is like entering a small natural sanctuary.
Los manglares que rodean gran parte de la laguna son refugio de diversas especies de aves, y caminar cerca de ellos es como adentrarse en un pequeño santuario natural.
As I walked around the place, I was struck by the sight of enormous figures of chigüires. I asked one of the employees about them, and he told me that years ago, these animals, also known as capybaras, used to roam freely around the hotel grounds. They love to be near lakes and rivers and are excellent swimmers. However, over time, they became scarce, and to protect the species, they were moved to a safe area.
I confess that I have never seen a capybara in person, but I was impressed to learn that they can weigh around 176 pounds. Imagining their size filled me with curiosity. I found the initiative to place cement sculptures charming, because it keeps the memory of these animals alive and, at the same time, surprises visitors. That's what this hotel is all about: it always seeks to innovate, adding details that make it a unique place full of surprises.
Mientras recorría el lugar, me llamó la atención ver unas figuras enormes de chigüires. Pregunté a uno de los empleados y me contó que, años atrás, estos animales, también conocidos como capibaras, solían caminar libremente por la zona del hotel. Les encanta estar cerca de lagunas y ríos, además de ser excelentes nadadores. Sin embargo, con el tiempo su presencia se volvió escasa y, para proteger la especie, fueron trasladados a un área segura.
Confieso que nunca he visto un chigüire en persona, pero me impresionó saber que pueden llegar a pesar alrededor de 80 kilos. Imaginar su tamaño me llenó de curiosidad. La iniciativa de colocar esculturas de cemento me pareció encantadora, porque mantiene viva la memoria de estos animales y, al mismo tiempo, sorprende a los visitantes. Eso es lo que tiene este hotel: siempre busca innovar, añadir detalles que lo convierten en un lugar único y lleno de sorpresas.
After enjoying that time by the lagoon, we retired to rest and prepare for our return the following day. Working with membranes requires patience and precision; you can't rush it, each step must be done carefully to ensure that everything is in optimal condition.
That's how our Friday ended, amid hard work, nature, and moments of calm. I'll keep telling you how things are going these days at Sunsol Ecoland, because each day brings new experiences that are worth sharing.

Después de disfrutar ese rato junto a la laguna, nos retiramos para descansar y prepararnos para regresar al día siguiente. El trabajo con las membranas requiere paciencia y precisión; no se puede apresurar, cada paso debe hacerse con cuidado para garantizar que todo quede en óptimas condiciones.
