[ENG/ESP] A flawless Monday, marked by teamwork and a perfect result
This Monday began very early, almost with the first song of the birds that usually accompany my mornings on the island. I woke up eager to continue the pending work on the filters at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center—a task that requires perseverance, precision, and a lot of advance planning. I always hope that my readers have a beautiful and productive day, as harmonious as the one I experienced while carrying out my responsibilities.
In addition to the technical work on the filters, I also had to deliver several invoices that day, so we organized everything the night before to ensure that every step went smoothly. The weather was glorious, with the sun illuminating every corner and allowing me to capture beautiful photos along the way. The morning light made the urban and natural landscapes look especially vibrant, as if the island wanted to give us a great start to the week.
Este lunes comenzó desde bien temprano, casi con el primer canto de las aves que suelen acompañar mis mañanas en la Isla. Me levanté con la energía puesta en continuar el trabajo pendiente con los filtros del centro comercial Parque Costa Azul, una labor que requiere constancia, precisión y mucha planificación previa. Siempre deseo que quienes me leen tengan un día hermoso y productivo, tan armonioso como el que yo viví mientras avanzaba en mis responsabilidades.
Además del trabajo técnico con los filtros, este día también debía entregar varias facturas, así que organizamos todo desde la noche anterior para que cada paso fluyera sin contratiempos. El clima estaba radiante, con ese sol que ilumina cada rincón y que me permitió capturar fotografías hermosas durante el recorrido. La luz de la mañana hacía que los paisajes urbanos y naturales se vieran especialmente vivos, como si la Isla quisiera regalarnos un buen comienzo de semana.
When we arrived at the mall, my husband and the boys began unloading the silica filter material, while I went to the office to turn in the corresponding invoices. Once that was done, I walked to the Sunsol Unik Hotel, which is just a few meters away, to turn in last week’s invoices as well and keep everything up to date, as it should be.
Al llegar al centro comercial, mi esposo y los muchachos comenzaron a bajar el material silíceo del filtro, mientras yo me dirigí a la oficina para entregar las facturas correspondientes. When I finished making the deliveries, I returned to the team. As I’ve told you before, they don’t let me lift heavy objects or perform tasks that require physical strength, so they assigned me to supervise the operation of the multistage pumps—especially since we’d be working with high pressures that day, and it was essential that everything be in order. I like that part of the job—observing, listening to the sound of the water moving through the system, and verifying that each pump is responding as it should. It’s a role that allows me to be present without straining my body.
Cuando terminé con las entregas, regresé con el equipo. Como ya les he contado en otras ocasiones, ellos no me permiten cargar peso ni realizar tareas que requieran fuerza, así que me asignaron supervisar el funcionamiento de las bombas multietapa, especialmente porque ese día se trabajaría con presiones y era fundamental que todo estuviera en orden. Me gusta esa parte del trabajo; observar, escuchar el sonido del agua moviéndose dentro del sistema, verificar que cada bomba responda como debe. Es un rol que me permite estar presente sin forzar mi cuerpo.
Once all the filter media have been installed, we carefully close the glass sight glass. This component is delicate and must not have any leaks, because even the slightest leak directly affects the system’s internal pressures.
Una vez colocadas todas las cargas filtrantes, pasamos a cerrar cuidadosamente el visor de vidrio. Esa pieza es delicada y no puede quedar con ninguna fuga, porque cualquier mínimo escape afecta directamente las presiones internas del sistema.
Next, we began the backwash, a process that requires patience and dedication. New filter media always contains a small amount of dust, and only water can clean it until it’s ready for use. We watched as the water gradually cleared until it ran completely clean—a sign that the filter was ready to begin operating.
Después iniciamos el retrolavado, un proceso que debe hacerse con paciencia y dedicación. Las cargas nuevas siempre traen un poco de polvo, y solo el agua puede limpiarlas hasta dejarlas listas para trabajar. Observamos cómo el agua iba aclarando poco a poco, hasta salir completamente limpia, señal de que el filtro estaba preparado para entrar en funcionamiento.
Finally, we looked through the viewfinder again. The pipes looked crystal clear, with no particles or cloudiness. That clarity is the best confirmation that the job was done flawlessly. It’s a satisfaction that’s hard to describe—knowing that every step was done right, that the team worked like a well-oiled machine, and that the final result speaks for itself.
Por último, miramos nuevamente por el visor. Las tuberías se veían nítidas, sin partículas ni turbidez. Esa claridad es la mejor confirmación de que el trabajo quedó impecablemente perfecto. Es una satisfacción difícil de describir; saber que cada paso se hizo bien, que el equipo funcionó como un engranaje preciso y que el resultado final habla por sí solo.
With that sense of satisfaction that comes from a job well done, we set off on our way back home. This week looks very promising, and starting off like this—with everything in order, good weather, and a job well done—always gives us a special boost.
