[ENG/ESP] A day filled with a gentle breeze, daily routines, and small victories

Greetings on this beautiful day. I sincerely hope your day is filled with peace, serenity, and little moments of joy that make your day a little lighter. Today, like every morning, my husband and I set out early from home to go about our work routine—the one that’s now part of our daily rhythm and that, though it may sometimes seem repetitive, always ends up teaching us something new and bringing more than a few surprises.
The day dawned a little cooler than usual. The weather has been capricious lately; sometimes it clouds over as if it were going to rain, then suddenly clears up to reveal a bright blue sky. The only thing that doesn’t change is that steady breeze that blows without ceasing. Sometimes it’s refreshing, other times it’s a bit annoying, especially when it insists on tangling itself in our clothes or messing up our hair just when we want to take a good photo. Even so, and despite the wind’s persistence, I was able to capture beautiful and enchanting moments with my phone’s camera. Each image seemed to hold a little piece of calm, as if the day wanted to make up for the breeze with beauty.

Mi saludo, en este hermoso día. Deseo de corazón que su jornada transcurra con tranquilidad, serenidad y pequeños momentos de placer que hagan más ligera su jornada. Hoy, como cada mañana, nos dispusimos a salir temprano de casa mi esposo y yo para cumplir con nuestra rutina de trabajo, esa que ya forma parte de nuestro ritmo diario y que, aunque a veces parezca repetitiva, siempre termina regalándonos algún aprendizaje y más que otra sorpresa.
El día amaneció un poco más fresco de lo habitual. El clima en estos días anda caprichoso; en ocasiones se nubla como si fuera a llover, luego se despeja de repente y deja ver un cielo azul brillante. Lo único que no cambia es esa brisa sostenida que corre sin descanso. A veces refresca, otras molesta un poco, sobre todo cuando se empeña en enredarse en la ropa o en despeinarnos justo cuando queremos tomar una buena foto. Aun así, y a pesar de la insistencia del viento, pude capturar hermosos y encantadores momentos con el lente de mi móvil. Cada imagen parecía guardar un pedacito de calma, como si el día quisiera compensar la brisa con belleza.

My task for the day was simple: deliver some invoices and carry out my usual duties at the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, where I’m responsible for disinfection and chlorination. However, the visit took longer than expected. The maintenance manager was in a meeting, and we needed to coordinate with him the cleaning of two of his tanks. So we had to wait a while, patiently, until he could see us. Finally, we managed to talk and get everything organized for after Easter, which gave us a breather and the peace of mind of having that task already set in motion.

Mi tarea del día era sencilla; entregar unas facturas y realizar mi rutina de trabajo en el centro comercial Parque Costa Azul, donde me corresponde la desinfección y cloración. Sin embargo, la visita se extendió más de lo previsto. El gerente de mantenimiento estaba reunido y necesitábamos coordinar con él la limpieza de dos de sus tanques. Así que tocó esperar un rato, con paciencia, hasta que pudiera atendernos. Finalmente logramos conversar y dejar todo organizado para después de Semana Santa, lo cual nos dio un respiro y la tranquilidad de tener ese compromiso ya encaminado.

As we left the mall, we headed into town. We had another task to take care of: buying some more incandescent light bulbs, because the 21st is fast approaching—the day the new chicks from the clutches in our incubator will hatch. It seems like a simple task, but when it comes to 40- or 60-watt incandescent bulbs, things get complicated. Since they’re hardly made anymore, finding them turns into a bit of an odyssey. The last time the one in the incubator broke, we had to search almost the entire city to find a replacement. It was a long journey—almost like a treasure hunt, ha ha ha.

Al salir del centro comercial, nos dirigimos a la ciudad. Teníamos otra misión pendiente; comprar nuevamente unos bombillos incandescentes, porque ya se acerca el día 21, cuando nacerán las nuevas crías de las posturas que tenemos en la incubadora. Parece una tarea sencilla, pero cuando se trata de bombillos incandescentes de 40 o 60 vatios, la cosa se complica. Como ya casi no los fabrican, conseguirlos se vuelve una pequeña odisea. La última vez que se nos dañó el de la incubadora, tuvimos que recorrer casi toda la ciudad para encontrar uno. Fue un recorrido largo, casi una búsqueda del tesoro jajaja.

Remembering that experience, we headed straight to the store near 4 de Mayo Avenue, where we’d had good luck the last time. And, luckily, this time we were also able to get the light bulb without any major hitches. I felt a huge sense of relief, as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. With that purchase secured and the day’s tasks completed, we headed home with a sense of satisfaction that only small, achieved goals can bring.

Recordando esa experiencia, fuimos directo al local cerca de la avenida 4 de Mayo, donde en la ocasión anterior habíamos tenido suerte. Y, por fortuna, esta vez también pudimos conseguir el bombillo sin mayores contratiempos. Sentí un alivio enorme, como si me hubieran quitado un peso de encima. Con esa compra asegurada y las tareas del día cumplidas, emprendimos el regreso a casa con una sensación de satisfacción que solo dan las pequeñas metas logradas.
