[ENG/ESP] A Christmas Wednesday filled with lights, gifts, and lunch.
Greetings, dear #wednesdaywalk friends. I hope you are all doing well and that you have had a week full of pleasant moments. Once again, I enthusiastically join our friend @tattoodjay wonderful initiative, which, as I have mentioned on other occasions, motivates me to share my Wednesday walks with you and also to enjoy yours, no matter where in the world you are. It is a very nice way to connect, to see other realities, and to share a little bit of our daily routines and experiences.
I had two important errands to run that day. First, I had to deliver an invoice to the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, and second, I had to accompany our son to the BNC bank to change his magnetic card, as they are updating the system and announced an express change for all users. Since both things were in the same place, we decided to go out together: my husband, our son, and I. We took advantage of this opportunity to spend some time together as a family and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere that can already be felt in every corner of the city.
We left home mid-morning, when the sun was already high but the weather was still very pleasant. It wasn't too hot, nor was it raining, which is a blessing at this time of year. The sky was clear and there was a gentle breeze, which made the walk even more enjoyable.
Saludos queridos amigos de #wednesdaywalk, espero que estén muy bien y que hayan tenido una semana llena de momentos agradables. Una vez más me uno con mucho entusiasmo a la hermosa iniciativa de nuestro amigo @tattoodjay, que como les he comentado en otras ocasiones, me motiva a compartir con ustedes mis paseos de los miércoles y también a disfrutar de los suyos, sin importar en qué parte del mundo se encuentren. Es una forma muy bonita de conectarnos, de ver otras realidades y de compartir un poco de nuestras rutinas y vivencias cotidianas.
Este día tenía dos diligencias importantes que hacer. Por un lado, debía entregar una factura en el centro comercial Parque Costa Azul, y por otro, acompañar a nuestro hijo al banco BNC para cambiar su tarjeta magnética, ya que están actualizando el sistema y anunciaron un cambio exprés para todos los usuarios. Como ambas cosas estaban en el mismo lugar, decidimos salir los tres juntos: mi esposo, nuestro hijo y yo. Aprovechamos así para compartir un rato en familia y disfrutar del ambiente navideño que ya se siente en cada rincón de la ciudad.
Salimos de casa a media mañana, cuando el sol ya estaba alto pero el clima seguía siendo muy agradable. No hacía calor excesivo ni tampoco llovía, lo cual es una bendición en esta época del año. El cielo estaba despejado y corría una brisa suave que hacía el paseo aún más placentero.
When we arrived at the shopping center, we got a little surprise: the bank was closed for reasons beyond its control. Although it was a setback, we decided not to let it ruin our day. Since we were there, I went to the office to deliver the week's bill, and we took the opportunity to look around the place.
Al llegar al centro comercial, nos llevamos una pequeña sorpresa: el banco estaba cerrado por razones ajenas a su voluntad. Aunque fue un contratiempo, decidimos no dejar que eso arruinara nuestro día. Ya que estábamos allí, fui a la oficina para entregar la factura de la semana y aprovechamos para dar una vuelta por el lugar.
We passed by the movie theater and noticed that the film “Five Nights at Freddy's” was opening. There were many young people dressed up in costumes, clearly fans of the video game series on which the film is based, eagerly waiting to get in. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, their creative costumes, and the energy they radiated.
Pasamos cerca del cine y notamos que estaban estrenando la película “Five Nights at Freddy's”. Había muchos jóvenes disfrazados, claramente fanáticos de la saga de videojuegos en la que se basa la película, esperando con emoción para entrar a la función. Fue muy bonito ver su entusiasmo, sus disfraces creativos y la energía que transmitían.
We continued walking and arrived at the food court, where we found a huge gingerbread man sitting on the balcony, looking out over the whole place. In the background, a beautiful decorated Christmas tree, with shiny baubles and bows, filled the atmosphere with joy. The Christmas decorations really transform the space and fill us with that special festive spirit.
Seguimos caminando y llegamos al área de comida, donde nos encontramos con un enorme muñeco de jengibre sentado en el balcón, contemplando todo el lugar. Al fondo, un hermoso árbol de Navidad decorado, esferas y lazos brillantes llenaba de alegría el ambiente. La decoración navideña realmente transforma el espacio y nos contagia de ese espíritu festivo tan especial.
As lunchtime was approaching, we decided to sit down and eat at Mike Pollo. We ordered a crispy chicken combo with Caesar salad, which was delicious and plentiful. Our son ordered a Chinese soda, while my husband and I opted for sparkling apple water, which is not only refreshing but also very digestive.
Como ya se acercaba la hora del almuerzo, decidimos sentarnos a comer en Mike Pollo. Pedimos un combo de pollo crujiente con ensalada césar, que estaba delicioso y abundante. Nuestro hijo pidió un refresco chinito, mientras que mi esposo y yo optamos por un agua gaseada de manzana, que además de refrescante, es muy digestiva.
After lunch, we took another stroll around the mall to walk off our meal, and my husband surprised us with some ice cream cones from McDonald's. It was the perfect sweet touch to end our lunch.
Después de comer, dimos otra vuelta por el centro comercial para bajar la comida y mi esposo nos sorprendió con unas barquillas de helado de McDonald's. Fue el toque dulce perfecto para cerrar el almuerzo.
As we were walking, our son asked us to stop by the Daka store, which was relatively close by, because he wanted to check out some prices. When we went inside, we found an excellent deal on a microwave. My father needed one, although at first he wasn't very convinced about getting it. But lately he has changed his mind and sees it as a useful convenience. So the three of us got together and bought it for him. It was our son who took the initiative and also took it in for warranty service.
Mientras caminábamos, nuestro hijo nos pidió que pasáramos por la tienda Daka que estaba relativamente cerca, porque quería ver algunos precios. Al entrar, nos encontramos con una excelente oferta de microondas. Justamente mi padre necesitaba uno, aunque al principio no estaba muy convencido de tenerlo. Pero últimamente ha cambiado de opinión y lo ve como una comodidad útil. Así que entre los tres reunimos fuerzas y se lo compramos. Fue nuestro hijo quien tuvo la iniciativa y también quien se encargó de llevarlo a revisión para la garantía.
Excited to surprise my father, we headed to his house to give him the gift. It was a very special moment, but I'll tell you about his reaction another time. I'll just say that it was very emotional.

Con la emoción de sorprender a mi padre, nos dirigimos a su casa para entregarle el regalo. Fue un momento muy especial, pero ya les contaré en otra ocasión cuál fue su reacción. Solo les adelanto que fue muy emotivo.
