Wat Sri Chum, a beautiful ancient temple in Phayao province, in the North of Thailand

Wat Sri Chum is considered to be a beautiful and perfect ancient temple; i.e. it consists of the shady nature of the Himmapan forest, beautiful temple art, magnificent chedi and the Vipassana meditation center.

The highlight of the temple is the beautiful Viharn of Luang Phor Thanjai which was built by replicating Indra's castle on Mount Sumeru combined with the art of Lanna carving.

This Viharn has 2 stories. The first floor was created to be a magnificent cave for practicing Vipassana meditation for monks, novices, and everyone.

It is called Laddaphirom Vipassana Center.

The inside of the Viharn was beautifully carved entirely from teak wood by artisans from Chiang Mai province.

The carving is about the Lord Buddha and the story of his last life.

Wat Sri Chum can be said to be very pleasing to the eyes and comfortable.
