Wat Poramaiyikawas, an ancient Mon temple on Koh Kret that you must not miss

Refer to my old post regarding Wat Poramaiyikawas which is an ancient Mon temple on Koh Kret, apart from the beauty of the Mon pagoda, named Mutaw Chedi, there are some more beautiful corners, gorgeous buildings and the sacred statues of Buddha in the temple that I would like to show you today….

The most important building of Wat Poramaiyikawas is Phra Ubosot or temple hall. (in my old post, I showed you the front of the building.) In the below pictures, you will see the back of the building and Mon-style pagoda which are very beautiful.

Not far from Phra Ubosot, there is a Phra Viharn of the Reclined Buddha statue which is the provincial Buddha statue of Nonthaburi province. (Unfortunately, I didn’t go inside.)

The paintings at the entrance doors are awesome.

The window is decorated beautifully with golden color.

On the roof, there are some marvelous golden animals in Buddhist Jataka tales. (I’m not sure whether they are Garuda or not.)

The garden of the temple is relaxing and refreshing, the colorful sculptures of animals in Buddhist Jataka tales, which are scattered in the garden, are fascinating and can attract your eyes.

The golden Buddha statue in the pavilion looks sacred and outstanding which can invite people to pay homage to.
