U Thong National Museum, an interesting museum in Suphanburi province, Thailand
U Thong is an important ancient city with historical and archaeological value in Suphanburi province.
The Fine Arts Department has established the U Thong National Museum to preserve many artifacts from the Dvaravati period and U Thong period (approx. 2,500 years ago) that have been discovered during archaeological surveys and excavations at the ancient city of U Thong.
U Thong National Museum displays important antiquities such as terracotta tablets depicting monks holding alms bowls, which are the oldest Buddhist antiquities found in Thailand, copper inscriptions, Roman coins, bronze Buddha images, gold jewelry, and various types of beads, etc.
In addition, if you visit U Thong National Museum, you will also see Laosong’s House which replicates the ancient house style. It’s a unique characteristic of the Lao Song people which are an important ethnic group living in some districts in Suphanburi province.
I can say that U Thong National Museum is an interesting museum that is dedicated to history, archaeology, and art history. It’s worth a visit indeed.

Thank you very much for your great support.
I've not had the opportunity yet to observe such type of houses although history showed that it was the norm over here too in previous centuries. Visiting a museum with artifacts from 2,500 years ago is quite an incredible experience, the mind kind of boggles thinking about all the years that have passed yet these artifacts are still here, intact!
It's so incredible to visit this place and learn new things. Thanks for sharing.
