Summer Jacket Rescue
Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!
While I continue my knitting of a white sweater, in parallel, I decided to work with a jacket. The fact is that my friend's daughter bought herself a suit: a jacket and a skirt. She really likes the skirt and she wears it, but the jacket did not suit her. And my friend gave it to me. She knows that I love everything bright.
This is a really fun summer jacket and I love the colors of the fabric. But the style of this jacket is absolutely ridiculous.
When you put it on, it hangs on you like a bag, fastens with only one button, which is completely ugly. No wonder the young girl doesn't want to wear this. 😐
I was wondering if I could change something to make the jacket look a little better. This time I was not afraid to ruin something, because it was simply impossible to ruin the jacket even worse: worse than it already looks was nowhere. 😏🤣
To begin with, the idea came to my mind not just to mark a button, but to add two more. I found these buttons in my stock.
I think it's definitely better than the white one.
I'm just amazed that someone came up with a similar jacket design and added such an ugly button. I used to think that buttons often, in addition to functionality, also serve as decoration. But not in this case! 😏
Since the jacket originally had one button, it only has one buttonhole. And according to my plan, I need three loops. Since I still do not know how to do it neatly, I decided to resort to tricks. I went to the store and bought these mini buttons.
As a result, one of my buttons is fastened with a loop, while the others are purely decorative, and under them two mini buttons are sewn on, on which the jacket is fastened.
The front of the jacket has already acquired a more presentable look. It's time for the sleeves. I thought about how to make them neater. There were two ideas: to draw in the elastic or to collect under the buttons. I chose buttons.
At the moment the jacket looks like this.
Does that look like something, don't you think? My husband says that it would be nice to fit the jacket a little more at the waist so that it is not so wide. What do you think, should it be done? 🙄
I'll show you the "before and after" 😁
What do you think of this, dear ones? 😀

Take care of yourself and be healthy!!!
The jacket really a lovely fabric print and its good that you are creative enough to rework it rather than keeping it without use.
I love the cover buttons in fact I just bought a machine I can use for making cover buttons.
thank you very much my dear! congratulations on your new purchase! This is great! beautiful buttons are very adorn any clothes. be sure to show us what you do 😃
I love the fun buttons! very cute
many thanks!!!!!
Definitely this shirt is beautiful and it had to be rescued!! I like that it looks a little more closed now, one button was only very little, although I like to wear the shirts open and with another shirt underneath 😅.
you know, I also like to wear outer jackets like you like in a warm period of time. but that white button really annoyed me. 😁 thanks for the comment my dear!
