My very small but progress in projects
Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!
I had a break from my work because my husband and I were going on vacation for half a month to one of the islands in Greece. We took with us so little luggage that I did not have the opportunity to take any of my handicrafts with me. ☹️ Therefore, my progress in my projects is very small. But! Yet he exists! 😀 And today I will show you what I managed to do.
So a hundred years ago (or so 😁) I bought four Indian blouses made from natural cotton. As you already know, I don’t like throwing away clothes made from natural fabric at all, so as usual, I decided to remake these blouses into home tops. These blouses originally looked like this:
In the photo above you see two of them. These are cute short sleeved styles and quite long. This was not suitable for me at home: in the hot summer, I like to wear short, flowing tops. So I had to change them a little.
I removed the sleeves completely and shortened the length a little. It would seem very simple. But in the end, it’s unclear how I made the bottom uneven and didn’t notice it right away. 🥴
If you ask me how I did this, I will tell you that I don’t know. ☹️I tried to cut the bottom straight. Moreover, for the first time I saw this in the photographs that my husband took at my request. 😩
So I tried to be especially careful when working with the second two blouses.
Since it is now +34 degrees Celsius, I had the opportunity to try these blouses in the form of home tops. They turned out to be very comfortable. The heat here will last at least another 1.5 months, so these tops will come in handy for me! 😀
Why do I remake clothes into home clothes?
- First of all, for me it’s stress-free sewing training because I’m not afraid of ruining the fabric.
- I’m also practicing an even seam on a sewing machine (now I’m not at all afraid of sewing on it like before, and this in itself is a huge progress for me!).
- Thirdly, in this way I save the family budget since I rarely buy clothes for the home and I have freed up funds to purchase new clothes for other purposes. As you can see, this is a triple benefit for me. 😀
How do you solve the issue of home clothes?
Lastly, I’ll show you a couple of photos of those amazing places where we vacationed.

Hi @tali72, what beautiful passages, enjoy your vacation to the fullest; when we love what we do we take out a little time, the flannels looked good on you and they look very comfortable.
Cheers!
Yay! 🤗
