Qurator's Photo Quest- The Swarmers

avatar

On the first time that I joined Qurator's Photo Quest I was lucky enough to get a spot on the challenge winner, since then I've been joining different contest on hive.

And this week here I am again to join his challenge, and he wants some insects.

This insects that I'm showing now are swarmers locally known to us as Simut Simut.
This insects come out during the night specially during rainy seasons. You can see them flying around where the light is brightest . At first they fly around and after a while you can see them now crawling in the ground.

My mother used to tell us stories that this insects are edible, but for me I will never dare to eat this things. My pets love them though.

So below is their 2 form, Swarmer with the wings and the crawlers.

When this insects are crawling in the ground be carefull that none of them come close to your ears beacuse they may enter inside, getting them out is a hard thing to do.

This photos were taken at La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines during a rainy night.

This ends my entry for this week, I hope you like it and looking forward to the next one. Thank you and have a good day.

We call this gamu-gamo here in Batangas. There's been lots these past nights because of the intermittent rains. The lizards and geckos are so happy but my kids aren't. Haha

It's also so hard to sweep them away. Argh.
