My move to the island of Koh Phangan

Well lovelies out there on the blockchain and all over the globe, how are you doing and what are you up to?

I wanted to share my impressions and first pictures of my move to Koh Phangan with you here on the Blockchain today.

Both the atmosphere and many other things are different here than on the mainland. When I compare it to Krabi, Aonang or Phuket, it's very different here. Much better for a character like me. While Aonang Krabi is more traditional, more Thais live there and this area is currently being developed and expanded, Phuket on the other hand is totally touristy, so you can also go to Mallorca, Koh Phangan is more of a spiritual area and there is a colorful mix of nations here. Also, the offer on the island is much more varied than that of some other regions on the mainland. I think this is due to the influence of the foreigners, as they also live their culture and customs here. This means that you can find European bakeries all over the island, and 7eleven also has a larger vegetarian and in some cases minimally vegan range of fresh products.

The prices in the cafés are sometimes not as expensive as those on the mainland. Of course, there are also expensive providers, but overall you can find more affordable offers here, which are harder to find in Aonang Krabi, for example.

In my opinion, the people here are even friendlier, more helpful and more service-oriented than those on the mainland. Okay, some of them are a bit busy.... not everyone is good at listening, to put it that way 😅 although I speak minimally broken Thai and am fluent in English and a pro at talking "hand and foot" 🤣 some people only understand me after 4 times, but this is more due to their attention span. You can find such unfocused minds all over the world.

Here are some impressions of my new surroundings. I am in the district "Ban Tai" or Moo 2 on the map. This is at the bottom right of the harbor. If you go up, you end up in the hip and fresh spiritual scene. The popular Zen beach is also there. I'll show you something from this area another time, I just wanted to mention it here.

Mein Umzug auf die Insel Koh Phangan

Na ihr Lieben da draußen aif der Blockchain und überall auf dem Globus verteilt, wie geht es euch und was macht ihr so schönes?

Ich wollte heute hier auf der Blockchain meine Eindrücke und ersten Bilder von meinem Umzug nach Koh Phangan festhalten und mit euch teilen.

Hier ist sowohl die Atmosphäre als auch manch anderes etwas anderes als auf dem Festland. Wenn ich es mit Krabi, Aonang oder Phuket vergleiche, es ist ganz anders hier. Viel besser für einen Charakter wie ich es bin. Während Aonang Krabi eher traditioneller ist, mehr Thais dort wohnen und diese Gegend sich gerade im Aufbau und Ausbau befindet, Phuket wiederum total touristisch angehaucht ist, so dass man auch nach Mallorca kann, ist Koh Phangan eher die spirituelle Gegend und hier gibt es einen bunten Mix der Nationen. Auch ist das Angebot auf der Insel wesentlich vielseitiger wie das aus manch anderen Regionen auf dem Festland. Ich denke das liebt am Einfluss der foreigners, da diese hier auch ihre Kultur und ihre Angewohnheiten leben. Somit findet man sowohl europäische Bäckereien hier auf der Insel verteilt, auch hat 7eleven hier bei den frischen Produkten ein größeres vegetarisches und teils minimal veganes Angebot.

Die Preise in den Cafés sind teilweise nicht so teuer wie die am Festland. Natürlich gibt es auch teure Anbieter, doch im gesamten findet man hier vermehrt günstige Angebote, welche man schwerer in Aonang Krabi zum Beispiel findet.

Die Menschen hier sind meiner Meinung nach noch freundlicher, noch hilfsbereiter und noch service orientierter wie die am Festland. Okay, etwas verplant sind manche schon....richtig zuhören ist nicht jedem seins, um es mal so zu sagen 😅 obwohl ich minimal gebrochen Thai spreche und fließend englisch und ein Profi im "Hand und Fuß" Reden bin 🤣 verstehen manche mich erst beim 4 x, was aber eher an deren Aufmerksamkeit liegt. Solch unkonzentrierten Geister findet man ja weltweit.

Hier nun einige Eindrücke meiner neuen Umgebung. Ich bin im District "Ban Tai" bzw. Moo 2 auf der Karte. Also unten rechts lang vom Hafen. Wenn man nach oben fährt, landet man in der hippen und freshen spirituellen Szene. Auch der beliebte Zen Strand ist dort. Aus dieser Gegend zeige ich euch ein anderes mal was, ich wollte es nur mal hier anmerken.

Here's a mini room tour... Because my little house is only a one-bedroom place, but you can divide it up well, the kitchen is outside and I also have a terrace, which makes the whole living space even bigger, as I sit outside a lot.

Yes, my now two cats are with me. The one sweetie is here from Thailand. She almost died and we rescued her collectively. ❤️ After that, she voluntarily stayed by my side and protects me from a black scorpion and a black baby cobra. She's a killer kitten. After she was injured again outside, I decided that she would become an indoor cat. She is mega grateful and chases everything inside so I don't have any critters or poisonous stuff in the den. She is also in love with my other cat or tomcat 🥰
The two are inseparable and so I had to take them both from the mainland to the island. They like it very much too. They're really relaxed, which makes me very happy.

Hier mal eine Mini Roomtour... Weil mein Häuschen nur eine 1 Zimmer Bude ist, aber man kann sie sich gut aufteilen, die Küche ist draußen und ich habe noch eine Terrasse, was den gesamte Wohnraum umso größer macht, da ich quch viel draußen sitze.

Jaja, meine mittlerweile beiden Katzen sind dabei. Die eine Süße ist hier aus Thailand. Sie wäre fast gestorben und wir hatten sie kollektiv gerettet. ❤️ Danach blieb sie freiwillig an meiner Seite und beschütze mich vor nem schwarzen Skorpion und ner schwarzen Baby Kobra. Ein Killerkätzchen is sie. Nachdem sie dann erneut verletzt wurde draußen, beschloß ich, dass sie eine Drinnenkatze nun wird. Sie ist mega dankbar und jagt alles drinnen, so dass ich keine Viecher oder giftiges Zeugs in der Bude habe. Auch ist sie mit meiner anderen Katze bzw. Kater in Love 🥰
Die beiden sind unzertrennlich und daher musste ich beide vom Festland mitnehmen auf die Insel. Ihnen gefällt es auch sehr gut. Die sind voll entspannt drauf, was mich sehr freut.

Aber nun weiter im Text und mal die Gegend angeschaut.

Haad Rin, which is also said to be a well-known area with a beautiful beach, is only about 4 km away from me.

Haad Rin, was auch eine bekannte Gegend sein soll mit einem schönen Strand ist nur circa 4 km von mir entfernt.

I randomly photographed what I saw on my way. As you can easily see, there are more motorcycles, scooters and Vespas here.

Ich habe random das fotografiert, was ich auf meinem Weg sah. Wie man unschwer erkennen kann fährt man hier verstärkt Motorräder, Roller und Vespas.

I tend to use the morning hours to explore the area. A lot of things are still closed then, but it's not too warm yet and I can do other things at home in the afternoon when it's warmest.

Ich nutze eher die morgendlichen Stunden zum erkunden der Gegend, zwar ist dann vieles noch geschlossen, dafür ist es noch nicht zu warm und ich kann mich zum Nachmittag, wenn es am wärmsten wird daheim um andere Sachen kümmern und werkeln.

You can find very nice cafés quite quickly and everywhere. They are hardly alike. Each one is different, with a different clientele and a different atmosphere. There is something for everyone.

Man findet recht schnell und an sich überall ganz schöne Cafés. Diese gleichen sich kaum. Jedes ist anders, mit anderem Kliente und einer anderen Atmosphäre. Für jeden ist was dabei.

Ich bin immer noch am erkunden der Gegend. Hier eine Tankstelle.

Everywhere is blooming and glowing green. The flora and fauna here is fabulously beautiful.

Überall erblüht und strahlt es grün. Die Flora und Fauna hier ist sagenhaft schön.

After a quick shop at 7eleven, I crossed the street because a French bakery on the other side caught my eye and I wanted to see what was on offer. I found what I was looking for and picked up some fresh bread. 😅 Yes, the Austrian in me needs bread. Very clichéd, isn't it?

Nachdem ich bei 7eleven kurz etwas eingekauft hatte, überquerte ich die Straße, da auf der anderen Seite eine französische Bäckerei meine Aufmerksamkeit erweckte und ich schauen wollte, was man dort bekommt. Ich wurde fündig und holte mir frisches Brot. 😅 Jaja, die Österreicherin in mir braucht Brot. Sehr klischeehaft oder?

Oh yes, very practical. If something happens, there's medical help nearby. That's always good to know.

Ach ja, sehr praktisch. Wenn etwas ist, in der Nähe gibt es gleich medizinische Hilfe. Das ist immer gut zu wissen.

I've also been to a café around the corner from me in the last few days. Very cute and tucked away next to the supermarkets. I tried a French toast here. The last time I had something like this was years ago in France and I wanted to try it here. What can I say, fantastic. It's like being in Europe food-wise. However, I also love Asian and Indian cuisine, which is why my eating habits are a colorful cultural mix. 😅

Auch war ich in den letzten Tagen mal in einem Café um die Ecke bei mir. Sehr süß und versteckt neben den Supermärkten gelegen. Hier hatte ich mal ein French Toast probiert. Ich habe sowas das letzte mal vor Jahren in Frankreich gegessen und wollte es hier mal ausprobieren. Was soll ich sagen, fantastisch. Als wäre man in Europa Essenstechnisch. Jedoch liebe ich auch die asiatische und indische Küche, weshalb meine Essgewohnheiten ein bunter kultureller Mix sind. 😅
