the Hippie Market in Haad Rin

So, finally arrived at the Hippie Market. As already teased in a previous post, now the long-awaited post about this event, which takes place every Saturday from 2 pm in Haad Rin on Koh Phangan in Thailand. I was there on July 13, 2024, the pictures are also from that day.

I really wanted to see what is meant by "hippie market" there and how it is practiced. So I set off there with friends and after an arduous walk on the road, which is not repeated (I'd rather take a leisurely 1-hour walk along the beach with a coffee instead of walking along the road!

This was the entrance to the Hippie Market. Always follow the arrow and the signs. I thought the graffiti was so beautifully done that it was worth photographing. It wasn't to be the last one I found by chance that day either. But you'll be surprised. I will present a few more artistic creations.

... And then always straight ahead. In no time at all you were there.

This was the side path to the location.

Despite walking for hours, we were too early. At first I thought we were in the wrong place because no one was there yet.

I'll take the opportunity to take a few pictures while it's still empty here! So I can at least show this place.
Because here in Thailand, people don't like it when you take photos of random people. In many places, taking photos may even be prohibited. Especially in stores, as they want to protect the privacy of their customers. I think that's very good. That's why I respect this rule and stick to it or ask if I can take photos.

Here, too, you can see the attention to detail and the many wall paintings.

After a long search, I found someone from the team. The employee then told me that we were too early and that the tour wouldn't start until an hour later.

So we used the waiting time by stretching our legs again, going for a walk, having a drink in a café and passing the time.

This is the location of the hippie market. We walked down the beach here.

I didn't take that many photos on the way to the café as I was rather annoyed and just wanted a drink. But I liked the style of this store, which is why I photographed the fashion. Do you like this style of clothing or is it too freaky for you?

I have to admit that I really like French and Japanese fashion. I find them on point.

A short walk down the street and we finally found a chilled café.

I was only able to take a few photos here, as there were quite a few guests.

But I was able to capture a few nice details.

After a quick look through the menu, I took an iced latte macchiato (no idea how to spell it, sorry misspelled).

With caffeine and ganja in my blood, I took a few more snapshots of the café. At least it had a nice interior and some interesting decorations.

Like this mask illustration. Beautifully bright and colorful, so that it catches the eye, so to speak. However, we only stayed here for a short time. Maybe 20 minutes, because we wanted to take a look at the surroundings.

After walking back towards the beach, we found even more graffiti in one of the many side streets leading to the beach.

Very nice, in fact. Or what do you think?

This small and short path was really full of street art.

Clear message to us all. Love your life and live what you love. Or rather, do what you love.

I found the following graffiti to be the most creative, which is why I took a closer look at it and took more photos of it.

Beautiful, isn't it? It was interesting, inspiring and fascinating, so I spent some time standing there looking at it.

But then my friends started pushing, as they wanted to go to the hippy market again. They just wanted to sit and not move around much. At most to the bar and back.
So we walked back the way we had come.
We were still too early. It was already officially 1 hour later and the doors opened, but the guests were arriving sparsely and slowly.

Which was good for me, as I was able to take some deserted photos, talk to the crew and see the DJs tuning up in person.

The market was on downstairs. There you could buy various goods, some of which were homemade.

There was also more seating for the guests.

You could also swing if you wanted to.

However, we went up the stairs behind the swing as we wanted to enjoy the live music.

Up the stairs was the first thing we saw.

And we were lucky, free choice of seats. Plus a magnificent view accompanied by good music. What more could you want?

I have to say, I really like the style. There was also a pool area.

I was allowed to stay outside because I didn't know! Damn, next time I'll put on a bikini. I would have loved to swim in the pool with the others. Well, at least I had good music.

I also had such a calming view. The sea always has a very relaxing effect on me.

I enjoyed the company up front with the music.

I had asked the DJ if I could film him. So I filmed him briefly live in action as he tuned up.

But then it started to get crowded. We stayed there for about 2 hours, but then we set off again. The hike here had taken so much energy out of us that we could no longer walk, let alone dance. So our tired feet just dragged us to the tuk tuk cab that took us home.

der Hippie Markt in Haad Rin

So, endlich am Hippie Markt angekommen. Wie in einem vorherigen Post schon angeteastert, nun der langersehnte Post über dieses Event, welches jeden Samstag ab 14 Uhr in Haad Rin auf Koh Phangan in Thailand stattfindet. Ich war dort am 13.Juli 2024,von diesem Tag sind auch die Bilder.

Ich wollte unbedingt mal sehen, was dort unter "Hippie Markt" verstanden wird und wie man es umsetzt. Daher machte ich mich mit Freunden auf den Weg dorthin und nach einem beschwerlichen Fußweg auf der Straße, welcher so nicht wiederholt wird (da gehe ich lieber gemütlich mit einem Kaffee 1 Std. Am Strand entlang statt die Straße zu wandern!) kamen wir dann auch an.

Hier war der Eingang zum Hippie Market. Immer dem Pfeil nach und den Schildern folgen. Das Graffiti fand ich so schön gemacht, dass es wert war fotografiert zu werden. Es sollte auch nicht das letzte an diesem Tag sein, welches ich zufällig finde. Doch lasst euch überraschen. Ein paar kunstvolle Kreationen werde ich noch präsentieren.

... Und dann immer geradeaus. Schwubsdiwubs war man da.

Das ist der Seitenweg zu der Location gewesen.

Trotz stundenlangem laufen waren wir zu früh dran. Zuerst dachte ich, wir wären falsch, da noch keiner da war.

Ich nutze die Gelegenheit um ein paar Bilder zu machen, solange es hier noch leer ist! So kann ich diese Örtlichkeit wenigstens zeigen.
Denn hier in Thailand sieht man es nicht gerne, wenn man random Leute fotografiert. An vielen Orten kann das fotografieren sogar verboten sein. Vor allem in Geschäften, da man die Privatsphäre der Kundschaft wahren möchte. Find ich sehr gut. Daher respektiere ich diese Regelung und halte mich dran oder frage, ob ich fotografieren darf.

Auch hier sieht man die Mühe zum Detail und viele Wandbemalungen.

Nach langen Suchen fand ich dann wen von dem Team. Der Mitarbeiter sagte mir dann, dass wir zu früh waren und es erst eine Stunde später losgeht.

Daher nutzen wir die Wartezeit indem wir uns erneut die Beine vertraten, noch etwas spazieren gingen, um in einem Café etwas zu trinken und die Zeit rumzubekommen.

Das ist die Location vom Hippie Markt. Wir liefen hier entlang den Strand runter.

Auf dem Weg zum Café hatte ich nicht so viele Fotos gemacht, da ich eher genervt war und einfach was trinken wollte. Doch diesen Laden fand ich schön vom Stil, weshalb ich die Mode fotografiert habe. Mögt ihr solchen Kleidungsstil oder ist dieser euch zu freaky?

Ich mag französische und japanische Mode sehr, habe ich zu gestehen. Ich finde diese on Point.

Kurz die Straße nochmal runter und endlich fanden wir ein chilliges Café.

Hier konte ich nur bedingt fotografieren, da doch einige Gäste da waren.

Doch ein paar schöne Details konnte ich festhalten.

Nach kurzem schauen durch die Menükarte, nahm ich einen Iced Latte Macchiato (keinen Plan wie man den schreibt, sorry falsch falsch geschrieben.)

Mit Koffein und Ganja im Blut machte ich noch einige Schnappschüsse vom Café. Es hatte immerhin eine schöne Einrichtung gehabt und einige interessante Dekorationen.

Wie diese Maskendarstellung. Schön knallig bunt, so dass diese ins Auge sticht, sozusagen. Wir blieben hier allerdings nur kurz. Vielleicht 20 Minuten, denn wir wollten uns noch die Umgebung etwas ansehen.

Nachdem wir wieder Richtung Strand gegangen waren, fanden wir in einer der vielen Seitenstraßen, welche zum Strand führen noch mehr Graffiti.

Sehr schönes sogar. Oder was sagt ihr dazu?

Dieser kleine und kurze Weg war richtig voll mit Straßenkunstwerken.

Klare Nachricht an uns alle. Liebe dein Leben und lebe was du liebst. Beziehungsweise tue was du liebst.

Das nachfolgende Graffiti fand ich am kreativsten, weshalb ich es unter die Lupe genommen habe und somit auch mehr Fotos davon machte.

... Nun im Detail...

Schön oder? Es war interessant, inspirierend und faszinierend, so dass ich einige Zeit dort stand und es mir ansah.

Doch dann drängelten meine Freunde, da diese wieder zum Hippie Markt wollten. Diese wollten einfach sitzen und sich nicht großartig mehr bewegen. Maximal zur Bar und zurück.
Also liefen wir die Strecke, so wie wir sie gelaufen waren auch zurück.
Wir waren immer noch zu früh dran. Es war schon 1 Stunde offiziell nun Einlass, doch die Gäste trudelten spärlich und langsam ein.

Was mir zugute kam, denn so konnte ich noch menschenleere Fotos machen, mit der Crew sprechen und die DJs sich einstimmen persönlicher sehen.

Im Erdgeschoss standen die Verkaufsstände. Dort konnte man diverse, teils selbstgemachte Waren erwerben.

Auch befanden sich hier noch mehr Sitzplätze für die Gäste.

Schaukeln konnte man auch, wenn man wollte.

Wir gingen jedoch die Treppe hinter der Schaukel hoch, da wir die Live Musik genießen wollten.

Die Treppe hoch war das dann Das was man als erstes sah.

Und wir hatten Glück, freie Platzauswahl. Dazu noch eine grandiose Aussicht zu guter Musik. Was will man mehr?

Schöner Stil muss ich sagen, mir gefällt dieser sehr. Einen Poolbereich gab es auch noch.

Ich durfte draußen bleiben, da ich es nicht wusste! Verdammt, nächste mal zieh ich mir gleich einen Bikini an. Ich wäre voll gerne im Pool mit den anderen geschwommen. Naja, wenigsten hatte ich gute Musik.

Ausserdem hatte ich so einen beruhigenden Ausblick. Das Meer wirkt immer sehr entspannend auf mich.

Ich genoss die Gesellschaft vorne bei der Musik.

Ich hatte den Dj gefragt, ob ich ihn filmen darf. Daher zweige ich ihn kurz live in action wie er sich einstimmt.

Doch dann wurde es auch achon voller. Wir blieben circa 2 Stunden dort, doch dann machten wir uns auch wieder auf den Weg. Die Wanderung hierher hatte uns doch so viel Kraft geraubt, dass wir nicht mehr laufen, geschweige denn tanzen konnten. Also schleppten unsere müden Füße uns nur noch zum Tuk Tuk Taxi, welches uns nach Hause brachte.
