Eat, Sleep, Walk - Repeat!
Hello lovelies, today I'm recording the road walk from Ban Tai to Haad Rin in my travel diary, which I did last Saturday, July 13, 2024.
I already walked along the beach, along the famous party beach "OXA" to Haad Rin, which I had already shared in an earlier post here. But we wanted to walk along the road to see the difference and the time it takes compared to the beach walk.
Tip: don't do it! Phew, taking the road route - on foot - is insane and pure madness, damn crazy, like me persuading the others to do the shenanigans and nonsense.
Well, as an Austrian, you're used to hiking. What can I say or should I complain? We went through it, mastered it, but in future we will only walk there on the beach side, as this is the nicer and easier way.
The road to Haad Rin is very hilly and winding. Not an easy undertaking and best done in running shoes or hiking boots.
You can't really see it in the pictures, but some of the hills were very steep, which we slightly underestimated. Nevertheless, we mastered the route and unanimously decided never to do it again, which is why we treated ourselves to a tuk tuk cab on the way back. But take a look for yourself, the following pictures show parts of the route. I tried my best to capture the hike. Please leave me your opinion in a comment. Would you take the street walk?
place where you find the apes and rhe ruin is marked on the maps:
Haad Rin Ban Tai, Ko Pha-ngan District, Surat Thani, Thailand
Additional information:
- all pictures were taken with a cell phone. I have an Android.
- the pictures were taken on July 13, 2024.
- I edited the pictures slightly (light, sharpness and color intensity)

I started to take photos lately, shame on my head. But we were still 3 km (that's what the shield say) away from entering Haad Rin.
Here it's written.
We crossed a view point too. As you can see.
Some impressions of the houses which you see by walking by. Different styles sometimes. Different color combos. Anyway beautiful panoramic view: nature combined with human created stuff. I like that much. Such view calms me down too.
Here we saw a kind of lost place I would call it. Everywhere #graffiti and #streetart. Interesting place, I thought by myself.
Directly behind that place this white new looking house shows up as we walked the street along.
That was the road. Maybe you can see how hilly it is? Our little hike idea showed up to be a walking adventure. Challenging the mind and thoughts not to stop a Tuk Tuk and make it easy.
God thanks we made it up and were able to see the apes. Cute monkeys isn't it? I love monkeys much, do you?
2 km we already mastered. Phew, 1 km left. The road went down now... But what will go down, could go up again... Wait and see. We were full of hope that we already left the worse part behind us.
And what do my thirty and tiered eyes were able to see? Wow, a ruine of an old... Hotel? It was no temple, or? It looks like a bit but I think it is an old hotel.
Look at thhe beautiful statues.
Snakes are the gate keepers it seems like.
I could not figure out what that building was or is. A hotel, a temple? For me it looks like an old ancient temple but maybe it's only the "style" of one. A lot of holy Buddhism and Hinduism symbols I could find.
Anyway, interesting place it was. We walked on to Haad Rin.
And there we are entering the district of Haad Rin.
Some more street impressions which I did when we walked the little roads in to the village.
Because we were thirty and hungry we stopped by 7eleven.
If you find a 7eleven with this-try it. I recommend it. Not every 7eleven is like that. Most of them don't have such a great sitting area. Or even mini pizza.
We stayed and took a rest before moving on.
And here it is. Hmmm, let's take a bite.
A fluffy pan pizza. It was worse it.
And cbeap too. After we went to the Saturday Hippie Market, but this I will post soon. In a few days. It's cool to have a separate post about it I think.

Was soll ich sagen, geschweige denn klagen?
Haad Rin Ban Tai, Ko Pha-ngan District, Surat Thani, Thailand
Zusatzinformationen:
- alle Bilder wurden mit dem Handy gemacht. Ich habe ein Android.
- die Bilder wurden am 13. Juli 2024 gemacht.
