Visiting The Flower Nursery for Market Friday -by Sunscape
This spring has kept me quite busy at home with my own gardens. This week was the first chance I had to get away for a stroll through one of my favorite garden centers.
There are 17 very large greenhouses on the property which has grown so much over the 25 years that I have lived in the area. I can remember when he only had one large high tunnel. It is amazing how things have changed.
Can you imagine how much money it must take to fill 17 of these huge greenhouses? I can't even begin to guess, not to mention, but the help that he must now employ to care for it all.
On the outside of the building are all the perennial plants, small trees, and shrubs. The parking lot is always full no matter what time of day you drive by. That says a lot about the quality and the service he provides.
When you get out of the car it is hard to even decide in which direction to go, lol. The sea of colorful blooms draws you everywhere.
Now, remember that I am a few weeks late visiting the nursery since it opened so you can actually see some bare spots throughout. I know that every house always has tons of hanging baskets which were pretty much gone in most of them.
I have to say, I really appreciate that he places these benches around the property for us older folks to take a short break. It requires a lot of walking by the time you are done meandering through all the houses.
There are just so many flowers to see and you know it is hard to decide on which ones are worthy to bring home. Well, of course, they all are, but I do grow most of my own flowers, buying some is just a way I treat myself every year.
This Begonia was absolutely stunning and I even surprised myself that I did not buy it. I do love them and they are gorgeous in a hanging basket.
Now, I have to say that I adored this basket of salmon-colored Petunias. If I had not already grown my own and done my baskets already, this would have had to come with me. It was really hard to resist since I rarely use that shade in my garden scape.
In between the houses there are a lot of container planters filled with a vast variety of flowers.
Okay, so truth be told, I did cave in and purchase this red, white, and blue Verbena combination. It just spoke to me somehow and I know that my hummingbirds will enjoy it too. So I hung it right next to the hummingbird feeder for them to feast on as well.
Lastly, there must always be a flower or two or three, right Denise?
I want to thank @dswigle for creating #marketfriday where people from around the globe can share their market experiences.

How many beautiful flowers! It looks a very interesting market!
Thank you, Sivia. It has so many flowers that it is so hard to choose which ones to bring home.
What a great nursery and how beautiful all those flowers are. It must be a pleasure to be able to take a stroll there to look around and indulge in some flower shopping, hehe. I loved the Verbena combination you bought.
It sure is a great market @coquicoin and the Verbena basket is looking amazing I am very happy with my choice. Thank you for stopping in today.
Quite impressive. 25 years and 17 greenhouses. Plants look beautiful, well cared for and healthy. I liked the pictures ☺️
Thank you so much for stopping in.
I saw baskets somewhere when I was out recently and wanted to get one. But I knew I'd forget to water it, so nope...
I'd love to have a place like that near me. It's so lovely to walk through.
What an amazing garden center! The owner must be really crazy about flowers and plants. The sea of bright colours just hurt my eyes.🙀😂
I would love to have a small green house made to the same high standard as his too.
You are too funny @kaminchan the flowers are stunning and colorful.
