Shadow Contest/SMASh #371 - Honeybee - by Sunscape

hivegarden-greenhouse-bee-.jpg

I could not resist taking a photo of this honeybee that landed on the post next to my chair. It was sunning itself and literally washing its face with the front leg. When I got the camera too close to him, he lifted his front leg to tell me to back off. You can see his lifted leg in the shadow of this photo. Then he continued to wash his face to clear off the pollen.

I didn't realize the bees shadow until I edited the photo. So here is my entry for this week's challenge, Melinda. Have a great week!

Very cute bee with beautiful eyes! He’s very expressive and handsome too. I haven’t seen big bees in my garden for quite some time now!

The bees are slowly showing up in the garden now that there are a few flowers blooming.

They are the greatest garden workers. It is so terrible that bees in many countries are dying out. I saw it myself last year, there were a few bees. I see the decrease.
The photos are so beautiful!

We still see a lot of bees here, thankfully! I love having them working so hard in my gardens pollenating the veggies. It is sad that so many have died off over the past two decades, so sad!
