πŸŒ§οΈβ˜” Morning after a heavy rain: Surveying the water level at the Trang River β˜•πŸ²

Hello, my lovely friends β˜”β˜•
After several days of continuous rain, the atmosphere this morning was especially gloomy and cool. This morning, I felt a little "inspired." My husband and I raced to start our trusty motorcycles and headed out to survey the water level in Nong Khun Subdistrict, as the Trang River, the main river, flows through this area. Yesterday, we received an emergency call alerting us, which made us both feel anxious and unable to remain calm.

πŸ›΅ Surveying the murky water at Khlong Yai
The two of us headed to the alley as reported to determine the exact water level in the canal. The scene was truly heartbreaking. The water level was rising alarmingly, especially in Khlong 1. The water had turned a murky brown, with grass, wood, and other debris constantly floating in the current.
As we rode our motorcycles, the rain continued to fall. Our only protective gear was raincoats, but the freezing weather made the journey difficult. It wasn't just us; neighbors in the area also drove out to check on the water and enjoy the morning atmosphere.

🏞️ Canalside View and Water Management System
My husband drove us through lush alleys lined with large trees. The road was a soggy dirt road, but it led us to the main road.
Finally! πŸ—οΈ Sluice Gate Control Building: The Heart of the Irrigation System
My husband and I finally arrived at the Sluice Gate Control Building, or the Head of Irrigation, which plays a crucial role in managing water in rivers and canals.

  • Its primary function is to control water flow for various purposes, such as storing water for agriculture and consumption during the dry season, and draining or diverting water to prevent flooding during the rainy season.
  • It is a crucial piece of infrastructure for water security and improving the quality of life of local residents.
This building is like a large valve, efficiently circulating water, pumping water into the irrigation system and controlling the flow of water from the main waterway. The system's excellent planning ensures that when we reached the main canal, where the water level was clearly high, my husband and I couldn't resist taking some photos and videos to share with you. Even though it was still raining, I wanted to capture this worrying scene for everyone to see up close.

🎣 Prepare for fish escaping the pond

After taking photos and videos, we drove along the canal bank to monitor the water level. Admittedly, the overall situation was still very concerning. Upon arriving at our garden, I decided to drive into the garden to check the water level inside. Fortunately, the water around the garden hadn't risen yet. However, the water level in the pond and fish tank we kept had clearly risen. Concerned that fish might escape, the two of us quickly removed old nets and placed them around the low-lying areas where the water was likely to flow quickly. As a precaution, we took out some old nets and placed them around the low-lying areas where the water was likely to flow.

We then walked to the animal feeding area, where we fed the ducks, chickens, geese, and fish in the pond. We then removed the cows from the pens and walked around the garden to make sure everything was in order.

β˜• Warm treat to beat the cold: Rice porridge, salted fish, and my favorite coffee

After finishing my gardening and gardening duties, I quickly returned home to change clothes and headed straight to the kitchen to make breakfast.
Today, I felt like I had some leftover dinner from yesterday, so I made some hot rice porridge to eat with fried salted fish. The cool weather makes this the perfect meal. I also had my favorite coffee, some khanom jeen with fish entrail curry, and some cake to go with my coffee to add a little happiness to my morning.

This morning, I'm sharing all the stories I've shared with you all. I hope you enjoyed the atmosphere and stories from this water exploration. For now, I'll be taking my leave. See you again soon. Thank you so much for following and supporting me.
