🐢💖 Little Happiness on a Flood Day: When Friends of Different Species Gather on the Lawn 🦆🐥
Hello, my lovely friends.
☀️ Morning duties and happy activities. With the main household tasks of cooking, making breakfast, and cleaning the house completed, my husband and I were ready to begin our happy activities. On a day faced with flooding, seeing our little family members happy was the greatest source of positive energy.
The area in front of the temple, where I live, has become a green oasis, protected from flooding, resulting in a beautiful, thriving lawn. This is where I started a special activity: taking my pets out to enjoy some fresh grass.
I carefully placed five baby ducklings in a square bucket, while my husband took care of three playful sulcata tortoises. As soon as I released them onto the lawn, you could clearly see the joy in their eyes.
🐢🦆 Happiness comes with cute chaos
Sulcata tortoises, herbivores who love to eat grass (and grass is their best, high-fiber food), seem to be particularly keen. They've begun grazing intently on the fresh grass, with little ducklings head down, pecking at the tender grass nearby. Watching them graze on the fresh grass makes me so happy.
But happiness often comes with excitement. When the sulcata tortoises, after eating their fill, began to visibly regain their energy, they crawled at an unexpected speed, heading towards the road as if they were about to venture out into the wide world. I nervously got up and grabbed them, haha.
This situation unintentionally led to my husband and I dividing up the duties. My husband was responsible for controlling the three mischievous sulcata tortoises, who were happily scurrying in different directions, while I took charge of the ducklings grazing peacefully. This scene brought laughter to the entire yard, as my husband probably never imagined such mischievous little tortoises. The chaos gradually subsided as the sun began to shine, and the tortoises began to pause to bask in the sun, their natural behavior.
As my husband and I were relaxing and happily watching our pets, we received a heart-stopping surprise. My other pet, Cat, ran across the road towards you and my husband. With love and concern, I quickly grabbed Cat, afraid that cars might pass by and cause him harm. However, my husband advised me to let him roam freely. With me and him nearby, Cat would not cross the road back again.
When released, the cat happily explored the area. And the cutest thing was, it started nibbling on the grass, just like the turtle and the ducklings. I've seen cats eat grass before, but this time, it was eating extra plentifully. Probably because it was stuck indoors during the floods, it couldn't get out to find grass to aid digestion or get rid of its hairballs like it usually does.
My cat is so adorable. I can't help but smile when I see this. It's a perfect picture of happiness, when all the pets come together peacefully and show their full happiness, even amidst the difficult circumstances caused by the floods. ❤️ After spending some time with their friends of different species, my husband and I brought them all home, leaving the turtles to roam around the house, while the ducklings were safely returned to their cages.
The floods aren't just affecting people, but also grass-eating livestock like cows, buffalo, ducks, geese, and other animals, who are struggling to find food and shelter. I'd like to send my support to everyone facing this difficult time. Stay strong, and I hope the situation improves soon. ❤️✌🏻🙏🏻
I'm recording this story as a reminder that small moments of joy and connection with pets can truly be the greatest source of comfort during difficult times.
