Monomad Challenge : Portrait

This is my entry for monomad challenge hosted by @monochromes.

This guy reminded me of Bob Marley—maybe it was the dreadlocks or just the laid-back vibe he gave off. I found him at the entrance of one of Phuket’s scenic viewpoints, selling handmade necklaces to visitors passing through. The craftsmanship was impressive, and the whole scene felt like a blend of art, culture, and freedom—just like Marley’s spirit.

He and his friend were happily chatting with curious visitors who stopped by to ask about the necklaces. The pieces weren’t overly expensive, but not exactly cheap either—the prices matched the quality, and some even felt underpriced. I could tell they were talented artists, passionate about their craft. At that moment though, they seemed a little too relaxed—probably still feeling the effects of weed. Just so you know, cannabis is legal in Thailand, so it’s not uncommon to see people a bit mellowed out while going about their day.

Here’s a close-up shot of him. I was genuinely curious to have a conversation, as he looked like someone who could share stories and insights I’d never heard before. Unfortunately, I was in a bit of a rush due to our travel schedule, so I didn’t get the chance. I simply snapped this photo and silently wished him good luck with finding the right buyers for their beautiful handmade pieces.
