Monomad Challenge - Pisang Goreng Lorong
“Pisang Goreng Lorong” literally means Fried Banana Alley.
I stumbled upon this lovely lady selling snacks in a hidden lane near the Art Market in Kuala Lumpur. Fried bananas—crispy, warm was one of her specialties among the snacks the she sells. The fried banana is popular not just among locals but also tourists . This is also one of my wife's favorite snacks, and she never hesitates to buy it—even when I feel it's a bit pricey.

This vendor was actually hidden from the main street, tucked away in a quiet corner. But even though you couldn’t see her stall right away, the delicious aroma from her fried snacks still managed to attract people. I’d say it was a kind of unique marketing—letting the smell do the advertising!
She didn’t have a wide variety of items on her menu, but everything she sold was a hot seller—simple, yet incredibly popular among the customers.
Just look at how ripe and beautiful those bananas are! We ended up buying two sets of fried bananas, and even though the price felt a bit high at first, we didn’t regret it. I believe the vendor isn’t making a big profit either, especially considering the high rental cost in this tourist-heavy area.
That’s all for today—thank you for stopping by! See you again in the next chapter of my street photography journey.
😊
