ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to all the members of this community and cat lovers! After more than two months since my last visit, I was finally able to meet my beloved cat Ikki again, who is an eccentric little panther that is being cared for by my boyfriend.

When I arrived, once Ikki heard my voice calling him, he approached me, as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing. He let me carry him and was quite calm while I spoke to him lovingly. Although he later returned to his current state and continued to roam the area 😆

The first night Ikki didn't want to sleep with me. The bed is a bit small and he probably felt like I was taking up space. But I was glad that the rest of the nights, he not only got into bed, but lay down right next to me. When we lived together, that was something he used to do all the time and I really like that he feels comfortable enough to sleep next to me 😊

I also kept an eye on his diet. I brought him a can of cat food which he really liked. In the past, he would get that kind of food once a month and he used to be quite fussy about kibble. But this time, that wasn't the case. He slept pretty well after eating half the can, although he was eager for me to give him more. But I saved the rest for the next day, I didn't want him to have a bad digestion from eating so much pate. I will definitely buy more cans to take to him on my next visit.

Taking pictures of him wasn't easy at all. Ikki definitely didn't want me to photograph him when he was exploring and inside the house, the lighting didn't help much. Still, I'm glad I got to see him in person and be able to hold him as many times as I wanted. Even though he doesn't really like it all that much haha.

I also took some new measurements for him. The harness I made for him is too big for him (he's lost weight since I sewed it) and some parts have been damaged. This harness prevents Ikki from accessing the ground next to the house, as it makes it difficult for him to jump high. Several times I had to run to find him because he wanted to try to jump. Being a rural area, wild cats are lurking around and Ikki is tempted to go looking for confrontation.

One of my goals is to move Ikki to a more comfortable place for him to live, so I can have him undergo surgery so he won't be so anxious (he has bilateral cryptorchidism, so a regular neuter has been ruled out by the vets). In his current state, Ikki is completely sterile, but I would like to be able to help him feel better. I strive daily thinking about it and I hope to achieve it one day 🙏

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad y amantes de los gatos! Después de más de dos meses desde mi última visita, por fin pude reencontrarme con mi querido gato Ikki, el cual es una excéntrica panterita que está siendo cuidado por mi novio.

Cuando llegué, una vez que Ikki escuchó mi voz llamándolo, se aproximó a hasta donde me encontraba, como no creyendo lo que escuchaba. Me dejó cargarlo y estuvo bastante tranquilo mientras le hablaba de forma amorosa. Aunque luego volvió a su estado actual y continuó recorriendo la zona 😆

La primera noche Ikki no quiso dormir conmigo. La cama es algo pequeña y seguramente sentía que le estaba quitando espacio. Pero me alegró que el resto de las noches, no sólo se subiera a la cama, sino que se acostara precisamente a mi lado. Cuando vivíamos juntos, era algo que solía hacer siempre y a mí me gusta mucho que se sienta lo suficientemente cómodo como para dormir apegado a mí 😊

También estuve al pendiente de su alimentación. Le llevé una lata de alimento para gatos que realmente le gustó. En el pasado, ese tipo de latas se las daba una vez al mes y solía ponerse bastante quisquilloso con las croquetas. Pero ésta vez, no fue así. Durmió bastante bien luego de comerse la mitad de la lata, aunque estaba ansioso porque le diera más. Pero guardé el resto para el día siguiente, no quería que tuviera una mala digestión al comer tanto paté. Definitivamente le compraré más latas para llevárselas en mi siguiente visita.

Tomarle fotografías no fue nada fácil. Ikki definitivamente no quería que lo fotografiase cuando estaba explorando y dentro de la casa, la iluminación no ayudaba mucho. Aún así, me alegra de haberlo visto en persona y poderlo cargar todas las veces que quise. Aunque realmente no le guste del todo eso jaja

También le tomé unas nuevas medidas. El arnés que le hice le queda muy grande (ha bajado de peso en consideración de cuando lo cosí) y unas piezas se han dañado. Éste arnés impide que Ikki acceda al terreno que hay al lado de la casa, pues le dificulta que dé saltos altos. Varias veces tuve que correr a buscarlo porque quería intentar saltar. Siendo una zona rural, los gatos salvajes andan al acecho e Ikki, se siente tentado a ir en busca de confrontamiento.

Una de mis metas es llevar a vivir a Ikki a un lugar más cómodo para él, para poder someterlo a la cirugía para que no esté tan ansioso (tiene criptorquidia bilateral, así que una castración común, ha sido descartada por los veterinarios). En su estado actual, Ikki es completamente estéril, pero me gustaría poder ayudarlo a sentirse mejor. Me esfuerzo diariamente pensando en ello y espero algún día lograrlo 🙏
