Hello to all the members of this community and cat lovers! This week I ventured out of the capital longer than I had planned, not only to get some proper rest, but also to spend time with my feline son Ikki, a beautiful but quarrelsome black cat 😼 Ikki is known in the house for being the most combative of the cats, so the rest are afraid of him. This saddens me, because the other cats sleep together or can play with each other, but Ikki doesn't like them and prefers to spend time alone or with his human father (my boyfriend).

Ikki: Okay. You can join me for a while. But don't bother me 😾

When I visit, Ikki acts indifferent at first, as if punishing me for my absence, but as the days go by, he becomes more docile with me and even settles in to sleep next to me at night. Now that I've stayed longer than usual, I've been able to enjoy his willingness to let himself be held and cuddled.

Ikki: You won't make me turn around, human. I know you're using your camera 😾

I even managed to clean him up a bit. I know many people say cats shouldn't be bathed, but I think sometimes it's necessary. In Ikki's case, his fur was very covered in dirt and dust, but since I couldn't bathe him properly, I opted to use a small brush, which I moistened a little with water, to simulate the fact that I was grooming him. Ikki probably thought he was being groomed by another cat, because not only did he let me, but he slept peacefully the first night. I've noticed his fur is much better after applying this procedure a couple of times. I'll continue doing this until I can buy him a steam cat brush.

Ikki: There's nothing like relaxing for a while 😸

On the other hand, in addition to the cats, Ikki lives with several rabbits. They're usually caged, but lately they've been allowed free rein on the grounds of the house. Ikki is afraid of rabbits. Well, not so much anymore, because at first, he was terribly afraid of them and would stay away from them. That makes me happy, but don't get me wrong, I'd rather Ikki not mess with the rabbits the way he does with the other cats... it's better for him to do like he does with the big dogs in the house: watch them from a distance and respect them.

Ikki: Oh no... it's one of them 🙀

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de los gatos! Esta semana me aventuré a quedarme fuera de la capital más tiempo del que había previsto, no sólo para descansar adecuadamente, sino también para poder pasar tiempo con mi hijo felino Ikki, un precioso pero pendenciero gato negro 😼 Ikki es conocido en la casa por ser el más peleonero de los gatos, así que el resto, le tiene miedo. Eso me entristece, porque los demás gatos duermen juntos o pueden jugar entre sí, pero Ikki no los quiere y prefiere pasar el tiempo solo o con su padre humano (mi novio).

Ikki: Está bien. Puedes acompañarme un rato. Pero no me molestes 😾

Cuando estoy de visita, Ikki al principio se muestra indiferente, como si me castigase por mi ausencia, pero con el pasar de los días se va volviendo más dócil conmigo y hasta se acomoda para dormir a mi lado por las noches. Ahora que me he quedado más de lo habitual, he podido gozar de su predisposición a dejarse cargar y mimar.

Ikki: No me harás voltear, humana. Sé que estás usando tu cámara 😾

Hasta he podido limpiarlo un poco. Sé que muchas personas dicen que no se deben bañar a los gatos, pero considero que en ocasiones, es necesario. En el caso de Ikki, su pelaje se hallaba muy lleno de tierra y polvo, pero como no podía bañarlo como tal, opté por utilizar un cepillo pequeño, el cual remojaba un poco con agua, para simular que estaba acicalándolo. Seguramente Ikki pensó que si estaba siendo acicalado por otro gato, porque no sólo se dejó, sino que durmió plácidamente la primera noche. He notado que su pelaje está mucho mejor luego de aplicar la operación un par de veces. Continuaré haciéndolo hasta que pueda comprarle un cepillo a vapor para gatos.

Ikki: No hay nada como estar relajado un rato 😸

Por otro lado, además de los gatos, donde vive Ikki hay varios conejos. Por lo general, suelen estar enjaulados pero últimamente los han dejado libres para andar por los terrenos de la casa. Ikki le tiene miedo a los conejos. Bueno, ya no tanto, porque al principio les tenía un miedo terrible y se alejaba de ellos. Eso me alegra, pero no me malinterpreten, prefiero que Ikki no se meta con los conejos del mismo modo en que lo hace con los demás gatos... es mejor que haga como con los perros grandes que hay en la casa: Los mire de lejos y los respete.

Ikki: Oh no... es uno de ellos 🙀
