Hello to all members of this community, photography and art lovers! After a cloudy morning spent sewing, I've decided to share the photos I took during my recent visit to the Museum of Fine Arts in Caracas, Venezuela. It's worth mentioning that I went about a week before the double earthquake, so I'm not up-to-date on the current state of the museum.

As I mentioned in a previous post, at that time, only a couple of exhibitions were on display at the museum (not to mention the exhibition dedicated to Venezuelan film posters). Upon entering the gallery, I realized I had already seen that exhibition, as it's part of the National Museums Foundation's collection. Even so, since it had been a while, I decided to explore it and take some photos anyway.

As usual, I'll speak primarily from my experience as a viewer and visitor to the space, since I'm not an art expert, so I don't feel qualified to offer a "deep" opinion on what's on display. I've mentioned this many times before, but what I love about these kinds of places is their silence and emptiness. I mean, I usually go to exhibitions right after they open for that very reason—because I like to explore the space without any distractions.

The lighting isn't the best, but my limited experience visiting art exhibitions has taught me that each artwork has its own conservation requirements, and one of them is light exposure. I imagine that due to their age (since several of the works in this collection are over 10 years old), their light exposure must be subdued. Even so, I think I did a decent job capturing the photographs of the pieces.

There's a variety of materials used, although what predominates, from what I could see, is abstraction. There are not only paintings, but also sculptures and dynamic works. After reviewing these photographs, I'm motivated to visit the museums and galleries again, of course, checking first that everything is in order, as some buildings are not yet open to the public.

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad, amantes de la fotografía y del arte! Luego de toda una mañana nublada dedicada a la costura, he decidido mostrarles las fotografías que tomé durante mi visita más reciente al Museo de Bellas Artes de Caracas (Venezuela). Cabe mencionar que fui más o menos una semana antes del doble terremoto, por lo que no estoy informada sobre el estado actual de las instalaciones.

Como mencioné en un post pasado, en ese momento, sólo se hallaban disponibles un par de exposiciones en ese museo (sin mencionar la exposición dedicada a los carteles de cine venezolano). Al ingresar a la sala, me di cuenta de que ya había visto esa exposición, siendo que se trata de la colección de la Fundación de Museos Nacionales. Aún así, como fue hace un largo tiempo, decidí igualmente recorrerla y tomar las respectivas fotografías.

Como me es costumbre, hablaré más que nada desde mi experiencia como espectadora y asistente al espacio, ya que no soy experta en arte, así que no me siento en la capacidad de dar una opinión "profunda" sobre lo mostrado. Lo he mencionado muchas veces antes, pero lo que me gusta de este tipo de lugares es su silencio y vacío. Digo, suelo ir a exposiciones luego de ser inauguradas por lo mismo, porque me gusta explorar el espacio sin ninguna distracción.

La iluminación, no es de las mejores, pero mi poca experiencia yendo a exposiciones de arte me ha enseñado que cada obra tiene sus especificaciones de conservación y una de ellas, es la exposición a la luz. Me imagino que por el tiempo (ya que varias de las obras de esta colección tienen más de 10 años de creadas), su exposición a la luz debe ser tenue. Aún así, considero que hice un trabajo decente en capturar las fotografías de las obras.

Hay una variedad de materiales utilizados, aunque lo que predomina por lo que pude observar, fue la abstracción. No sólo hay pinturas, sino también esculturas y obras con dinamismo. Luego de revisar estas fotografías, me he motivado a acercarme a los museos y galerías de nuevo, por supuesto, revisando primero que todo esté en orden, pues hay edificaciones que aún no están prestando su servicio al público.
