Hello everyone in this community! On June 20th and 21st, we held the Father's Day edition of the Marketplace. I thought I had posted about my participation, but after checking, I realized I forgot. Currently, the Marketplace is suspended until further notice due to the events that took place in the country on June 24th (an edition was scheduled for the 27th and 28th). Therefore, with a heavy heart, this will be the last post I make about Marketplaces until further notice 💔

For this edition, I thought I wouldn't be invited, haha. I say this because last time, when it was about International Public Knitting Day, they invited artisans focused on working with fabrics and textiles. I thought that this time, being about Father's Day, they would invite those who had products more suited to a male audience (I'm aware that I don't have products for men and I'd like to work on that). However, they told me that had nothing to do with it, haha. They invited me the day before, and although I was a bit tired because I had just gone to a museum (I haven't uploaded the photos of the exhibits I saw that day either), and I also attended a Barter Club meeting, I arranged everything to go to the Eje del Buen Vivir (Axis of Good Living) the next day.

As for my outfit, on the first day I felt like wearing something inspired by Decora, meaning a super colorful outfit. I really like it because it cheers me up, and I've noticed that people are happy to see me; they probably think I'm a little clown, haha. Anyway, I brought some new things, and sales weren't great, but as if by fate, I found a ring I had lost in the same place the week before, and a child gave me a balloon in my favorite color... those two things filled me with optimism. Something funny that happened on the way back was that a man thought I worked entertaining children... I wish it were true, because nowadays, children need recreation... and that's not my forte 🙃

Returning to the market the next day, I chose a more gothic-style outfit. Unlike the colorful one, I'd worn this one before. Sales were better, though not as fantastic as on other occasions. However, as I always mention, you always end up making other kinds of gains as well. This time, I spent a long time talking with another artisan about my ideas and received her advice and words of encouragement. That's something I needed.

For now, that's all. I don't know when there will be another market or if the project will be reactivated. The country is going through a very difficult time, and all Venezuelans are focused on helping, even through their own businesses, whether by allocating a percentage of their profits to donations or creating useful products for those affected. While I'm not sewing, I'm thinking about what I can do, since I was just starting to make a name for myself in the city and I don't have regular customers to support through my sales, and my current raw materials are scarce. So, I'll be posting the things I haven't uploaded yet and thinking about how I can contribute through my business with the resources I have available.

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad! Los días 20 y 21 de Junio, se efectuó la edición del Mercadillo dedicada al Día del Padre. Pensé que había subido cómo fue mi participación y luego de revisar, me di cuenta de que lo olvidé. Actualmente, el mercadillo se encuentra suspendido hasta nuevo aviso, por lo ocurrido en el país el pasado 24 de Junio (Iba a efectuarse una edición los días 27 y 28). Por lo que, con todo el dolor de mi corazón, esta será la última publicación que suba hasta nuevo aviso sobre bazares 💔

Para esta edición, pensé que no sería invitada jaja lo digo porque como la vez pasada, siendo sobre el Día Internacional de Tejer en público, invitaron a artesanos enfocados a trabajar con tejidos y productos textiles, pensé que éste, al ser sobre el día del padre, invitarían a quienes tuvieran productos más indicados para el público masculino (Soy consciente de que no tengo productos para hombres y me gustaría trabajar en ello). No obstante, me dijeron que eso no tenía nada que ver jaja me invitaron un día antes y aunque estaba algo cansada porque acababa de ir a un museo (tampoco he subido las fotografías de las exposiciones que vi ese día), así como asistí a una reunión de un Club de Trueque, acomodé todo para salir al Eje del Buen Vivir, al día siguiente.

En cuanto a mi outfit, me antojé de llevar el primer día, algo inspirado en el Decora, es decir, una vestimenta súper colorida. Me gusta mucho porque me da ánimos y he notado que a la gente, le alegra verme; seguro que piensan que soy una payasita jaja En fin, llevé algunas cosas nuevas y las ventas no fueron muy buenas, pero como una señal del destino, conseguí un anillo que se me había perdido en el mismo lugar la semana anterior y un niño, me regaló un globo de mi color favorito... esas dos cosas me hicieron llenarme de optimismo. Algo curioso que me sucedió de regreso, fue que un señor pensaba que trabajaba animando niños... ojalá fuera real, en el aspecto de que actualmente, los niños necesitan de recreación... y ese no es mi fuerte 🙃

Volviendo al mercadillo, al día siguiente escogí un outfit con estilo más gótico. A diferencia del colorido, éste ya lo había usado antes. Las ventas fueron mejores, aunque no tan fantásticas como en otras ocasiones. Aunque, como siempre menciono, uno siempre acaba llevándose también otro tipo de ganancias. En ésta oportunidad, estuve un largo rato hablando con otra artesana sobre mis ideas y recibí sus consejos y palabras de aliento. Eso es algo que necesitaba.

Por ahora, eso es todo. No sé para cuando haya otro mercadillo o si se reactivará el proyecto como tal. El país está pasando por una situación muy fuerte y todos los venezolanos están abocados en ayudar, inclusive desde los emprendimientos, ya sea destinando un porcentaje de las ganancias para invertirlas en donaciones o creando productos útiles para los afectados... Yo, mientras no estoy cosiendo, estoy pensando en qué podría hacer, ya que apenas me estaba dando a conocer en la ciudad y no tengo clientes fijos para poder apoyar desde mis ventas y mi materia prima actual, es escasa... Así que, estaré publicando las cosas que no subí y pensaré en el modo en contribuir desde mi emprendimiento con los recursos disponibles.
