ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to all members of this community, photography and art lovers! I recently had the opportunity to visit the museum in Barquisimeto, (Venezuela), while I was visiting the city known as the "musical city." After being closed for a while, the museum reopened and has been working hard to maintain its mission as a space dedicated to showcasing talent not only in the region but also throughout the country. I follow them on social media, and in addition to art exhibitions, they also frequently host talks and invite artists to participate.

This time, I'll tell you about the exhibition created from the works made by students of the experimental sculpture workshop (I'm so jealous of those who attended, haha), led by the professor and architect José Ignacio Alvarado. The exhibition was located in the upper part of the museum, in a spacious room where visitors could stroll around and appreciate each piece in detail.

Using various materials such as plastic, cardboard, wood, and steel, the students created abstract pieces. Each one reflected an interesting and even striking form, making you want to admire it from different angles, since, depending on the perspective, you could get a different view of each sculpture. I found that fascinating, and now that I think about it, it would have been great if I had recorded a bit of each one, but I forgot, haha.

Choosing my favorite among them all was difficult, as each piece has its own unique touch. But I love the work Raquel Ojeda did on her piece "Indigo." I don't know if it's the color of the piece or the spirals, but it makes me think of seaweed or a marine element. In "My Sunset," by José Ignacio Alvarado, I adore the way the sculpture unfolds to the sides, which makes you think of the reddish tones that can be seen during a sunset, and the twilight here is majestically appreciated.

It was undoubtedly a fascinating exhibition. I loved it completely. I would have liked to hear the guide's talk about the pieces, but I had arrived a bit late and didn't have much time. But anyway... I hope many more exhibitions like this continue to be shown at the museum and that the public is encouraged to support the enormous artistic talent in the city of Barquisimeto 😌

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad, amantes de la fotografía y del arte! Hace poco tuve la oportunidad de visitar el museo de Barquisimeto (Venezuela), aprovechando que me encuentro de visita en la conocida como la "ciudad musical". El museo, luego de una temporada cerrado, volvió a abrir sus puertas y ha estado trabajando arduamente para mantener su labor como un sitio destinado a la muestra del talento que hay no sólo en la región, sino también en el resto del país. Sigo sus redes sociales y además de exposiciones de obras, suelen hacer también conversatorios e invitaciones a artistas.

En esta ocasión, les hablaré de la exposición creada a partir de las obras realizadas por estudiantes del taller de escultura experimental (que envidia de la buena le tengo a los que asistieron al taller jaja), por parte del profesor y arquitecto José Ignacio Alvarado. La exposición se encontraba en la zona superior del museo, en una sala amplia en donde el espectador podía pasearse y apreciar a detalle cada obra.

A través de distintos materiales como el plástico, cartón, madera y acero, los estudiantes realizaron piezas basadas en la abstracción. Cada una reflejaba una forma interesante y hasta llamativa, que te llevaba a querer admirarla desde distintos ángulos, ya que, dependiendo de la perspectiva, lograbas tener una visión distinta de cada escultura. Eso me pareció fascinante y ahora que lo pienso, hubiera sido genial que grabase un poco cada una, pero, se me pasó por alto jaja.

Escoger mi favorita entre todas ellas, fue difícil, ya que cada pieza tiene su toque. Pero me encanta el trabajo que hizo Raquel Ojeda en su obra "índigo". No sé si será el color de la pieza o los espirales, pero me hace pensar en un alga o una pieza marina. En "Mi atardecer", de José Ignacio Alvarado, adoro la forma en que se despliega la escultura a los lados y que precisamente, te hace pensar en las tonalidades rojizas que pueden apreciarse durante una puesta de sol y los crepúsculos aquí, se aprecian majestuosamente.

Sin duda, fue una exposición fascinante. Me encantó en su totalidad. Me hubiese gustado poder escuchar la charla del guía sobre las piezas, pero en ese momento había llegado algo tarde y contaba con poco tiempo. Pero, en fin... espero que muchas más exposiciones de este tipo sigan mostrándose en el museo y que el público se anime a apoyar al enorme talento artístico que hay en la ciudad de Barquisimeto 😌
