Hello to all members of this community, photography and art lovers! Today I'm here to share the photos I took of the exhibition dedicated to Picasso, which was on display at the Armando Reverón Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas. Pablo Picasso's legacy in art is undeniable, especially considering his versatility as an artist. He never remained faithful to a single style, but instead dared to explore what, over time, became a part of himself and his experiences.

The works on display show some of Picasso's drawings and sketches during his immersion in what would become Cubism, more specifically, the study for the creation of the work "Guernica", in which the artist reflects an intense scene, full of symbolism and nuances about an era full of pain and violence.

I find it ingenious how Picasso manages to depict something that, at the time, might have been considered objectionable. Many believe this style of the artist is far inferior to his other works, but there is something majestic in the seemingly "simple," for it is not easy to represent something symbolic without knowing and experiencing what lies behind it. I will always find intriguing this fascination artists have with expressing what seems impossible to capture.

Photographing framed artworks is always a challenge for me, because even without using the camera flash, the room's light always ends up reflecting off the glass. Even so, I did my best to get some decent shots of the pieces. Then, I sat down to look at them and try to analyze what Picasso had drawn. I was amazed and somewhat dismayed, because each stroke expressed something powerful, and I could even imagine the screams and, in some cases, the terror.

It was, without a doubt, a very interesting exhibition. After seeing it, I was able to understand much more about the process of creating Guernica. I can say with certainty that one of my favorite parts of exhibitions is when we have access to those "intimate" drawings of the artist, being able to confirm that a great work isn't created overnight; it's like seeing, step by step, how they came to form something greater. It's truly illustrative! 🎨

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad, amantes de las fotografías y del arte! El día de hoy vengo a mostrarles las fotografías que tomé de la exposición dedicada a Picasso, la cual se encontraba exhibida en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas, Armando Reverón. El legado de Pablo Picasso en el arte, es incuestionable y mucho más ante lo versátil que fue como artista, nunca permaneciendo fiel a un sólo estilo y en cambio, se atrevió a abordar lo que con el tiempo, le parecía parte de sí mismo y de sus vivencias.

Las obras expuestas, muestran algunos dibujos y bocetos de Picasso durante su inmersión en lo que sería el cubismo, más específicamente, el estudio para la elaboración de la obra "Guernica", en donde el artista, refleja una escena intensa, llena de simbolismos y matices sobre una época llena de dolor y de violencia.

Me parece ingenioso cómo Picasso logra plasmar algo que en ese tiempo, pudo haber sido considerado censurable. Muchos opinan que éste estilo del artista muy por debajo de sus otros estilos, pero hay algo majestuoso en lo aparentemente "simple", pues no es fácil representar algo simbólico sin conocer y vivir lo que hay detrás. Siempre me parecerá curiosa esa fascinación de los artistas por expresar lo que pareciera que no puede ser plasmado.

Fotografiar obras enmarcadas con vidrio, siempre me resulta un reto, pues a pesar de que no se utilice el flash de la cámara, la luz de la habitación siempre termina reflejándose contra el vidrio. Aún así, hice lo posible por obtener algunas tomas visibles de lo expuesto. Luego, me dispuse a observarlo y tratar de analizar lo que Picasso, había dibujado. Quedé maravillada y algo consternada, pues cada trazo expresaba algo fuerte y podría decir que hasta me imaginaba los gritos y en algunos casos, el terror.

Fue, sin duda, una exposición muy interesante. Luego de haberla visto, pude comprender mucho más lo que fue el proceso de realización de la obra Guernica. Puedo decir con certeza, que de mis partes favoritas de las exposiciones es cuando tenemos acceso a esos dibujos "íntimos" del artista, pudiendo corroborar que una gran obra no se crea de la noche a la mañana, es como ver paso a paso, cómo llegaron a formar algo más grande ¡Es realmente ilustrador! 🎨
