Hello to everyone in this community and fellow cat lovers! A few days after arriving in the capital, it turned out that Cleo, my sister's cat, was scheduled to be spayed. This surprised me but also made me quite happy, as the little one had already gone into heat a couple of times and was getting quite restless. Luckily, Ying, my sister's male cat, has been neutered for years, so he looked at her with a puzzled expression when Cleo got more boisterous than usual, haha. I haven't had a chance to talk about how it all went, so while I'm dealing with a bit of flu-like discomfort, I'll take the opportunity to tell you all about it...

😸 Resting after the operation 😸

My sister left very early and returned with Cleo in the afternoon. That surprised me, because the last time I had inquired about spaying/neutering in the other city where I lived, they usually kept the patients overnight for observation. But in this case, being a non-profit organization, I suppose they have other procedures. As expected, Ying was somewhat anxious about his feline companion's disappearance, and once she reappeared, he didn't approach her very much, I imagine because of the smell she must have given off being with other cats at the vet.

😸 Unlike Ying, Cleo wasn't afraid of the carrier 😸

Cleo was given a post-operative bodysuit to prevent her from licking her wound. My sister asked me to make some more so she could change her cat when needed. If you'd like to know how to make one, you can check out the post I wrote about it. Of course, Cleo didn't look too happy when she arrived. While the anesthesia wore off, she slept for quite a while until she finally woke up with that sad little face, probably uncomfortable because she couldn't move with that cloth on her, haha.

As the days passed, Cleo's spirits and energy returned, and Ying started approaching her again. They also resumed grooming and playing together. However, Cleo is still under observation after returning to the vet to have her stitches removed. So, she went from being free to wearing the bandage again for a few more days... and you can tell she didn't like that decision, because you can see the discomfort on her face, haha. Let's hope she recovers completely soon, since she's an energetic kitten who loves to play, so we're eager to see her being so playful again, and I'm sure Ying, her playmate, feels the same way 😸

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de los gatos! A los pocos días de llegar a la capital, resulta que Cleo, la gata de mi hermana, estaba programada para ser esterilizada. Eso me sorprendió pero me alegró bastante, ya que la pequeña ya había entrado en celo un par de veces y se ponía bastante inquieta, aunque por suerte, Ying, el gato macho de mi hermana, tiene años castrado, así que la miraba con extrañeza cuando Cleo se ponía más escandalosa de lo habitual jaja No había tenido la oportunidad de hablar sobre cómo resultó todo, así que, mientras me encuentro con algo de malestar de gripe, aprovecharé de comentarles...

😸 Descansando luego de la operación 😸

Mi hermana se fue muy temprano y volvió con Cleo en la tarde. Eso me sorprendió, pues la última vez que me había informado sobre las castraciones/esterilizaciones en la otra ciudad en la que vivía, solían dejar a los pacientes toda una noche bajo observación. Pero en este caso, al ser una fundación sin fines de lucro, supongo que tienen otros métodos de trabajo. Como era de esperarse, Ying estaba algo ansioso por la desaparición de su compañera gatuna y una vez que apareció de nuevo, no se le acercó mucho, me imagino por el olor que debía desprender al estar junto a otros felinos en el veterinario.

😸 A diferencia de Ying, Cleo no le agarró miedo a la transportadora 😸

A Cleo le colocaron un body post operatorio, para evitar que se lamiera la herida. Mi hermana me pidió que le elaborara otros para cambiárselo cuando fuera necesario. Por supuesto, Cleo no se veía de buen semblante al llegar, mientras pasaba la anestesia, estuvo un buen rato durmiendo, hasta que por fin despertó y estaba con esa carita triste, seguramente incómoda por no poder moverse con ese trapo que tenía encima jaja.

😸 Tratando de comprender porqué tenía que llevar esa cosa puesta 😸

Con el pasar de los días, los ánimos y la energía de Cleo volvieron y Ying, volvió a acercarse a ella. También volvieron a acicalarse y a jugar. Aunque, Cleo sigue bajo observación luego de que volviera al veterinario para que le retirasen los puntos. Así que pasó de ser liberada a volver a tener la faja por unos días más... y se le nota que no le gustó esa decisión, porque se le ve en su carita la molestia jaja Esperemos que se cure del todo pronto, ya que es una gatita enérgica que le gusta mucho jugar, así que estamos ansiosos por verla de nuevo siendo tan juguetona y estoy segura de que Ying, su compañero de juegos, opina lo mismo 😸
